Its a very confort and clean boutique hotel. Very frindly staff.

The hotel is advertised as a hotel boutique whereas in reality is an overpriced bed and breakfast. Hotel staff were not helpful and the bed sheets were stained with rust.

Staff was friendly and amazing with our kid! Full use of the kitchen to cook our own food. Massage was GREAT! $2 u er to center of town.

So quaint and clean with immense charm and character. Beautiful little garden with a profusion of bright colors. The most friendliest and helpful staff, who have gone beyond expectations in terms of attending to my every need. I would love to return to this clean charming place.

Beautiful facility... The staff is great I just think the room could be a little bit cleaner but I would recommend this hotel to anybody and would definitely come back. Great location not too far and not to closed to the busy area of Antigua... Very relaxing and once again the staff is great.

It was a cozy property and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We requested to be moved to a different room due to a very cold room we were originally given (we live in Florida, we are always cold outside the state!) and the owner was less than happy about our request. The grounds are very nice and the location is nice, outside of all the hustle and bustle and noise of Antigua. We liked that. The breakfast was good. The rooms and the property in general were very, very clean. We would recommend this property to anyone staying in Antigua that would like to have a little distance from the chaos of downtown Antigua.

Charming property in a great area. I would recommend this hotel!

Our stay with my family was ok, the personnel was very nice and the room is so big with a beautiful view, the only problem is that is so far from the central park and that is a little noisy because is very close to the bus stop

A lovely haven of comfort and beauty. Small boutique hotel with lovely gardens, hot tub and massages available. Excellent breakfast. Bonus for me a religious procession passed right in front of the hotel on Sunday morning - a lovely experience. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Madeline. We especially enjoyed the personal touch of Carino and Lily. Would highly recommended this boutique hotel.

Great staff, even the grounds keepers. The grounds keeper maintain this area really good. (Hopefully they get some type of recognition because I was impressed) Wifi works in the common area. The first level area has a stronger Wifi signal than the 2nd level. Within 10-15 minutes walking distance to the markets or central Plaza. Very secure hotel.

The only problem was the wifi was hit or miss but overall a great place to actually relax!!!

The negative part of our stay had to do with inadequate commuications between Hotel.com & the hotel on paymemt. We had pre-paid but when we checked in, the hotel owner said we hadn't & was asking for a 2nd payment. After ceding on that point, we had another problem the next AM around the question of whether b'fast was included in our rate. Our on-line reservation said yes but the owner said no. She never ceded on that point, but allowed us to check out even though, according to her, we still owed her for the b'fasts that we had already been served. These discrepancies around the terms & conditions of our on-line reservation took the pleasure out of what otherwise would have been a really plesant stay.

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff was friendly but not overly accommodating. When we saw that the room we were given had a dehumidifier running in it, we were concerned about the musty smell (even after the machine was removed). The staff was not overly accommodating. We finally did get another room but were made to feel like we had the problem and not them.
The neighborhood is off the beaten path in Antigua.
The breakfast was good.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Madelaine but we must admit that since it is a location for its mission owners there were constantly large groups of people there and the noise level was disruptive. However, we must say that the staff was so helpful in so many ways that it made up for the noise interference. The location is far from the city centre and walking on narrow sidewalks and cobblestone streets was difficult. The breakfasts were delicious and promptly served. The security was excellent. Thank you for a fine stay.

The hotel is right next to a busy road, so you hear trucks and motorcycles constantly. There is a lot of soot from the chicken buses, and our lungs still have not recovered weeks after coming home. The hotel has a hot tub, but they don't have it ready to go, you have to wait many hours to heat up. Typical breakfast had beans that were liquified, watered down and poured on the plate. Too many disappointments to list.

I would definitely go back again! It exceeded my expectations! It was spotlessly clean and the service was exceptional.

Beautiful boutique B&B with rooms surrounding a delightful allied garden. Excellent friendly and helpful staff and great breakfasts.
2.5
The great service and the outstanding staff made our stay unforgetable.
Rooms and ambiance could not be better and breakfast was delicious and enough to have a great day after it.
Location is a little farther but with the mototaxi service it is easy and affordable to ride back at any time.
We congratulate for our decision to stay at Casa Madeleine

The location is away from the public square, but nonetheless an enjoyable walk to and from. The hotel staff is accomodating and the interior couryard cozy. My only negative comment is that it is a bit noisy from the street noise and also one can hear other guests -at least it was the case in the room adjacent to mine-chat away into the night.
Breakfast was very good and the internet is free and speedy.

This hotel is beautiful. Hammocks and reading material provided. Breakfast offered a great selection. You can walk into town, but its a little far and would recommend a taxi or tuk tuk at night after 9pm. Otherwise, it was safe. Apparently those that rob you do so from a "moto" - they moped up to you and take your stuff and then ride off. That never happened and didn't seem to be a threat. You are fairly close to the local market/souk - it's easy to get lost in it. However, you're also close to the "handmade" market which is nice, covered and small.
We are 2 women (girls?) in their early-mid 30's. Hotel had TV, hot water, your own bathroom and serenity. Would recommend going to Cafe Refugio (best coffee ever - get the signature). You'll also meet some other english speakers from around the world who can give excellent advice on where to go for local eats, drinks and shopping. Defintely a must is Hector's Restaurant where you can meet Hector and eat the most delish food you can get in Guatemala - they also have a great wine selection. Frieda's was also good Mexican eats with real guac.
Two days was plenty of time to explore it all - but at the Casa Madeliene, you could probably stay 3 just to enjoy the hotel's many amenities. Have a great time! We did!

This is a quaint b&b located about one half mile from the central square in Antigua. It is charming and well maintained, with friendly helpful staff and a nice breakfast included. From our room, the Blue Room, we had a view of the volcanoes that surround Antigua, if it was not too cloudy or foggy. the distance from the center of town makes for a quieter stay, but if you do not enjoy walking, this hotel is not for you! (and perhaps neither is Antigua). My only complaint would be that the bathroom is very small, and it takes quite a while for the water to heat up, but this is common for the area. We enjoyed our 8 night stay, looked at other hotels that were twice the price and decided to stay at Casa Madeleine for our whole trip. would stay there again.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It is a charming boutique beautifully decorated and cozy. When you open your room door, the fragrant candles greet you. (And there are even matches to light them. There's red wine and glasses, lovely canopy bed, complimentary bottled water, a closet with monogrammed towels, etc. No detail is missed. Yes the room is small, but the space is used well. It's a B&B and the pancakes at breakfast were perhaps the best I've ever had. The grounds have fruit trees and no one minds if you pick an apple, wash it and eat it. There's a spa onsite. The service was good. Free Wi-fi. Super nice staff. Location was a quick walk to the central market. I had to leave for a flight to Tikal, but I'll probably return for a weekend to stay here.

The B&B was a little farther from downtown than I expected, but still walking distance. The room was clean and adequate. Breakfast was wonderful & the staff very helpful. We didn't use the spa facility, but it looked wonderful. We would stay there again. We felt safe in the neighborhood. Antigua is a very interesting city with the market place, many good restaurants, jade factory, coffee plantation, not to mention volcanoes.

The room stank of disinfectant. It took me almost a full day to realize it was a tab that was attached to the toilet causing the stink. It was overwhelming. When I finally found it, I threw it out the window. The room had so much rich, exposed wood which would have given off a most pleasant fragrance if it hadn't been stunk out by the disinfectant tab.
Along the same lines, a radio on the ground floor terrace with elevator type music ran nonstop.
Also, the internet didn't work in the rooms. And whenever I would bring my laptop inside from the terrace (where the internet did work) to recharge, I could only go back online if I asked the front desk to reset the router.
The hotel was a couple of blocks from the edge of downtown, and while the neighborhood seemed fine, I didn't like the idea of walking there at night.
Both the room and the bath were small, and there wasn't a comfortable chair in the room. There was no phone in the room.
The grounds and the terrace were nice and a fountain was nice to listen to, although it was turned off around 9pm.
Staff were all very nice and helpful and spoke good English.

Well to sum it up. If you enjoy walking down a dark lonely street at night then this place is for you! Ladies do not even attempt to wear high heels on the cobble stone streets you will kill yourself. And plan on calling a cab to get everywhere.$$$$$$

Finding this jewel was a bit difficult, once we did it was just "great". We have been to different good hotels in Antigua, but Casa Madeleine has been the best little boutique hotel. Their employees are so pleasant and helpful. If you want to be pampered away from home, this is the place. We and the other guests that came with us will definitely come back.

This beautiful hotel is located a couple of blocks away from Antigua's center. Clean and very pleasant atmosphere. The room was beautiful and smelled great. Very small bed and breakfast and I would recommend it highly to those people that like quiet and peaceful atmospheres.
