Incredibly clean, tidy with amazing staff and location!

Beautiful breakfast room, adequate breakfast options, excellent coffee...Great price! All hotels areas...hallways, entry, room, bathrooms...all very clean and aesthetically pleasing and comfortable! Our mattresses were a bit soft/saggy, but that is a personal preference. Hotel staff, very friendly, accomodating and made us feel at home and welcome. On the Mosel River, the castle can be seen off in the distance.

Superb! Excellent staff. Great rooms. Awesome breakfast! Easily 5 stars!

Hotel Stumbergers was a simple and welcoming hotel. It is situated just outside the beautiful Mosel town of Cochem, within easy walking distance, but still allowing benefits like safe free parking. The owners were very helpful pointing out all of the amenities, recommending a local wine festival (which was great), and operating a nice beer garden too. Room was modern and no-frills but entirely sufficient for an overnight stay, the shower was very powerful. Breakfast was continental, and had plenty of choice with the offer of fresh eggs and coffee on demand! A fine place to spend the night exploring Cochem.

The hotel staff were very cordial and friendly. The lodging room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. The location was GREAT!
4.3
Perfect location with a good size room which was spotless, breakfast good with a helpful host. Restaurant food was brilliant
4.3
The hotel is completely inaccessible for anyone that is not able to carry bags up four flights of steep stairs. Further, the rooms are not functional, no coffee is provided as is the norm in this region. The owner told us breakfast (included) was only available after 730 after we told him we needed to leave to take the train at 730 when it was available at 7 (my mom noticed while our for a run ).
4.3
Beautiful view overlooking Mosel and Castle from our private balcony. Very clean room and great breakfast. Free parking.

Arrival ok, shown room , second floor under roof, 28 degrees. Asked proprietor for a ventilator, he said he lived in the house and he did not have any ventilator. Had a meal in not what call a restaurant, outbuilding self service. Returned to room 36 degrees. Not possible to sleep or stay in the room and left hotel.
4.3
Great view of the castle, easy parking, nice staff and lovely breakfast.

This family run hotel is excellent, the owners very polite & helpful. The hotel is ideally situated to walk into Cochem centre & has rail links to Koblenz. The breakfast is plentiful. Room was clean with on suite shower. Defiantly use again.

This hotel is very basic. Location is around 1km from centre of Cochem but it is a nice walk along the river. Our room had a balcony and had great water views and of the castle. Rooms were very basic. Wifi worked. Breakfast was simple but ok. For the price this hotel is fine. I did fine Cochem very touristy so next time I would only visit Cochem but stay in Ernst which is a beautiful village down the road or Bernkastel-Keus.

A lovely hotel situated just outside Cochem with plenty of parking. Our room had it’s own balcony overlooking the river and we could also see the castle. An excellent breakfast was included in the room price. It took us about 10 mins to walk into Cochem, such a beautiful place with lots to see and many restaurants. There was a wine festival with a live band and we were made to feel very welcome. We would highly recommend hotel Stumbergers.
4.3
Great little hotel in a wonderful location! Very friendly& attentive staff. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Would definitely go back!

Just a15 minute walk from the center of Cochem, this family run hotel was a perfect base for exploring the Moselle valley and Burg Eltz. Free parking and waterfront location were nice pluses.

Perfect spot to explore area - the most AMAZING Spanish/Mexican food I've ever tasted (and were from Texas!) the chef must be very experienced to blend flavors and unexpected ingredients into these expert dishes.

Great location easy access to downtown, had a good view of the castle. Breakfast was good, cereal, rolls, meat, cheeses, eggs cooked to order.
4.3
Nice hotel, clean, numerous stairs to get to rooms

We arrived early for our check-in and our rooms werent ready...so they upgraded us!! Awesome service! Hotel very convenient to the train station and easy walking distance to the sights of Old town. Great experience at this hotel.
4.3
Wonderful experience, accommodation was excellent with comfy beds in an adequately sized room with excellent natural light and ventilation. Typical German cleanliness was exceeded. The Restaurant was busy and with good reason, excellent freshly prepared Mexican style meals, very tasty and a welcome change from a Schnitzel.

We have been travelling around Germany for 14 days, staying primarily at b&b's, and honestly comparing Stumbergers to others, it rates on the lower end for overall value. The room itself was spartan and had a funky smell that we soon discovered came from the bathroom. It was puzzling because the room and bathroom were very clean. We were on the 2nd floor and noise from the restaurant, especially chairs being moved around traveled...so we slept only after closing time. The included breakfast was average compared to others we have had, but the eating room did have a wonderful view of the castle. For the euros charged, Stumbergers was 30 more than it was worth compared to other b&b's.
4.3
Should have been informed when booking that the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening.

The landlord and his staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet excellent. The town is a wonderful place to stay
even in the middle of February. The historic town of Cochem situated on the river Mosel in the middle of the
hilly vineyards is absolutely pretty. The castle spectacular! You should definitely book a tour through the castle.
Other activities: Book a trip on the river, go up the hill to the "Pinner Kreuz" in a chair lift offering a fantastic view
on the town, the castle and the surrounding landscape (closed until Easter holidays). Visit the historic mustard mill -
most delicious varieties! And of course you'll find lots of restaurants or vineyards where you can enjoy a glass of
wine.
Cochem is an excellent place to stay if you want to make day trips to Burg Eltz, Koblenz, Bernkastel-Kues or
Trier - just to make some suggestions. There are lots of other castles and towns worth visiting.
