At a first glance everything looked clean. However when I woke up on Friday morning I saw ants in the bed. I do not like any sort of bug and felt very uncomfortable and disgusted that I was laying on ants.

Always a very friendly hotel. The water-view rooms are quiet and the view peaceful. The breakfast is ok. They have added dinner items; we didn’t eat there but it looked like some nice choices. Only negative—we have been staying here for years and I am noticing that the hotel is showing its age—carpets need deeper cleaning or replacing and give the rooms a musty odor. But the bed linens are clean and the bed comfortable.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent with different cooked selections every morning, with other staples. Great view of a waterfront area. Location didn’t seem bad as other reviews, but surrounding area isn’t desirable. Most of our incursions were in SF but I would consider staying here again if in Oakland.

We wanted a quick overnight stay to cap off summer. And this was a good place to do so. There is a restaurant on the property, a pool, hot tub (with no jets) and a decent view.

Loved the beautiful view from the bar, strolled around outside while waiting for our dinner and took a few photos.
We ordered steak and salmon and took it to our room, it was absolutely delicious!

Love the view of the canal, water, dragon boats, sunsets, balcony door open at night for cool breeze! Didn’t feel like a hotel but better. Pool was great! Eating outside was peaceful.
Canadian geese have made the walk by the canal difficult but that’s no one’s fault. Will be back again

It was awful we had Ants in our bed with us I noticed it was an ant bomb in the room by the air conditioner! I called front desk she moved us into the next room same thing there it was ants in the carpet the bathroom I feel like I should have gotten half of my money back because I didn’t sleep good who want Ants Bugs anything crawling on them while there sleeping i definitely didn’t sleep good I wouldn’t rent a room here again! They need to shampoo the carpet and the Ant bomb didn’t work as we were sleeping it’s a bed full of Ants On us inside my husband ears etc very disgusting feeling! And they should have giving me a refund back half off ‘ very disgusting I want be staying here ever again

The nighttime clerk seemed genuinely happy to be at work when I arrived even though it was after 10 pm. The parking lot security person was visible. The other guests inside seemed at ease as did I. Room and bed where comfy. Breakfast was par for this type of hotel. My only challenge was the room TV. The volume button hardly worked and the Direct TV was down the next morning which made it impossible for me to watch the news. The other thing I disliked was the shower design with no door. It caused the bathroom floor to get wet. I've always wondered why anyone thinks that shower design is a good idea.
Nonetheless, I'd stay there again on business.

We stayed there for a week! Overall very good! The shower doesnt have a curtain so our bathroom was always flooded. People were able to park on the street infront of parking lot. We got back late one night and a guy in a camper got out and started yelling at us that our head lights woke him up. I would recommend changing breakfast choices. The same things for 7 days is rough. Stay was amazing and helpful.

We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Executive Inn. Don't let the look of the area fool you. The hotel was nice and clean. The only issue we had is that they did not service the room and we had to go to the front desk to get towels. The breakfast was very good. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and updated. We enjoyed the walking path along the water. Take the path to the north and you will really enjoy the views and the walk.
