There’s a reason this hotel has an exceptional rating! The staff and hotel was amazing from the moment we stepped through the door!

Upon arrival to our 6-person over $800 room, we found dirty underwear left on the chair in the room. This not being found made us question how well the room was cleaned. We called the front desk who made it very obvious they didn’t care and offered a food credit, although we didn’t plan on getting food at the hotel. We waited almost 45 minutes for someone to come up and take care of it, delaying our plans for the night.

great but expensive - especially for a Canadian guest when you take into account the exchange rate. in the future i will probably search for cheaper alternatives' for accommodation in Detroit.

Staff friendly, helpful, fun. Room..more than I asked for!

Great location. Excellent staff. My only complaint was the room was very warm even with the temperature set in the 60s, we couldn’t get it below 76.

Doubletree texted daily to check on my stay which was very helpful to request shower gel. They responded quickly

Room was nice but air conditioner broke first night which we didn't realize and the floor ended up having wet spots. Hotel did give us a small voucher for breakfast. Would have liked enough to cover everyone in our room.

It took us two hours after check in time before our room was clean. The valet initially refused to valet us because our vehicle was too big. The only big disappointment was the dining experience at the hotel. Specifically, we ordered three shrimp cocktail at $18 each. The menu said it came with avocado, tomato, and red onion. When we received our order, there were five shrimp in each on a bed of greens. The dish did not reflect the menu or price. Our previous experience at this restaurant was much better. Hopefully this was a one-time glitch.

Elevator was dirty and it smells bad like a horse pee. Staff are friendly & quick to mitigate issues or requests.

The room was very spacious and clean. You could smell that all the linen was fresh and clean. They have great amenities here as well. The downside of this hotel is that you have to park across the street and there were no luggage carts available. Had I been traveling with only my daughter, I would have had to make multiple trips taking her inside and out across a busy street. That is a big safety issue. The biggest issue I had was that I had to keep stopping multiple times to answer the phone for the front desk. They kept calling for me to pay the remaining balance because there was a communication issue between their technology and my bank. With having to answer the phone call so many times, I was LATE for my GRADUATION. I had to stop getting ready to call my bank, and had my bank on speaker phone with the front desk on speaker phone to show the front desk my bank was not receiving any communication from them. They called multiple times after I hung up the phone. I had an energetic three year old I was trying to get ready and myself. These constant calls took time away from me getting ready and hence made me late for my graduation. The other issue I had was that you had to sign in to the apps to use them and the live tv would go out and turn to a blank black screen. I tried to turn off and turn on the tv to get it fixed, but it didn't work. The hotel is beautiful, but the above issues really makes me question if I would want to stay here again.
