My biggest concern was the air conditioning. We stayed one night and could not get it to work properly or cool the room adequately so it was quite warm. Maybe the desk clerk could explain how to use it as it was very confusing. Also, upon showering we found that our soap dispenser was empty and had to ask for more at the desk. This is something housekeeping should check when getting a room ready. On the positive side, room was quite large, clean, modern and had great natural light.

Very comfortable and clean room just what was needed for a short city break. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating when we needed assistance. Great location with the tram and bus stops right outside which go into the city and to/from the airport. Also a short walk into the city with some great restaurants. Would definitely stay again if visiting.

Hotel-D is a nice small hotel in a very good location. It is walkable to all attractions in the old town. Staff all speak English and are friendly. Room was clean, but the hallways on each floor need to be redone (painting and carpet needs to be changed). I

I booked this hotel for a night prior to taking an Avalon river cruise. The hotel was clean and the bed was super comfortable. The room was a bit smaller and more dated than it appears in the photos, but it was still nice. Note -- some reviews stated that the wine was gratis -- it was not, I had to pay for it on checkout! The tram runs right below the window and so it was a bit noisy to keep the window open, but there are lots of trams in Basel, so any hotel would probably have the same issue. The front desk staff was super nice - the airlines ripped off one of my luggage wheels and they had good strapping tape and did there best to patch me up on Day One of my vacation! The location was close enough to the City Center to walk, but you do get the free tram/bus pass which is a nice option. I was a solo traveler and felt safe staying here. Would stay here again if I were in Basel for a short stop.

It was very nice to stay in Hotel D, front desk staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The room is big, bed is comfortable, room service is quick. Location is excellent. I have no hesitation to recommend it to others.
