The location is ideal: you can explore Venice with ease snd also enjoy the peace and quiet of this quiet residential area. The kitchen is really well stocked which we enjoyed as we like to self cater. The information that David had left was really useful. Beds were comfy and bathroom clean.

This was a treat, it is homely, with a kitchen that encourages you to cook , then a dining table where you watch the gondola’s go by. We had 3 nights , it was never going to be enough. The area is peaceful and beautiful, away from the crowds. The tips given by the owner were perfect, we just loved it . We thoroughly recommend the apartment, it was perfect!

We absolutely loved our stay in David’s apartment. Myself and two friends were completely comfortable in the three bedroom apartment and it was located on a quiet back street right behind a canal in Dursoduro. We could walk to the very crowded sights near St. Marks, then retreat to our quiet oasis at night. David was the most wonderful host - he provided us with a ton of information about the apartment, neighborhood and Venice in general. When we arrived, he arranged for a greeter to show us to the apartment and get us set up. We had a perfect three days in Venice and would absolutely return to stay in this beautiful apartment again 🤗

place was well equipped and comfortable for us. location was perfect— close to transportation, but still quiet at night and in the evening. More of a home than most rentals.

We had a lovely stay at David’s flat in Venice. It was a perfect spot for our family of 4 (my spouse and I and our 13 & 14 year olds). It’s cozy and ecclectic, and we had some wonderful evenings in the sitting room playing cards by candlelight after a full day of exploring. Communication with David was excellent, and Irene, his housekeeper was also very flexible & welcoming, and able to meet us after we arrived by water taxi. The location was excellent— easy to walk to all destinations, yet also removed from the crowds of tourists. It’s right on the canal, and in warm weather there’s a small table and chairs that you can carry out to enjoy the sunshine. We even enjoyed watching a gondolier training his children to navigate the canals. All in all a great stay!

This is a wonderful and unique property in Venice. The owner David has furnished this apartment to immerse you in the Venice experience. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood that acts as a refuge after busy days touring the lagoon and sites. It is well equipped and is exactly as it appears in the pictures. David was perfect to deal with and the place is packed with useful information. I will definitely return to this sanctuary in Venice.

This was a great property to stay at. Great location, very quiet and easy to walk to everything . I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

Love at first sight. Delighted to see the top of the gondolier's head going past the living room window. A quiet area, easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Very well-equipped kitchen. A little more clothes storage would be great!

Highly Recommend Staying Here. Not only was the area quiet, the property is unique and provides the perfect Venice experience. The location is ideal - A short enough walk to popular attractions, good eats and the train station. My friends and I feel lucky to have booked this spot. We did not want to leave.

I adore this area of Dorsoduro, and I loved residing on a canal with gondolas passing by every now and then. The master bedroom is enormous and the living room quite well-equipped. There are two other bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with very comfortable twin beds). The kitchen is rather small, but nearly everything a guest might need or want in order to be comfortable is on hand. Thank you, David, for your kind assistance throughout my stay and for your never-ending patience and understanding as well.

Charmingly furnished in a vintage Venician style, this apartment opens directly onto the canal. Gondolas float past intermittantly right out the window. Apartment is clean with fresh towels. There's no central AC, but there are a couple of plug-in AC units which help. The walk to St. Marks Square is about 20 - 25 minutes, so bring your walking shoes. Check-in process was super easy and host was very responsive throughout. We had a great time. Thank you!

Elegant apartment on the canal
This was a truly fantastic experience- walking into a stylish apartment, antiques, books, music and much more. Loved being on the side of a canal and being able to sit outside in a private court yard next to the canal. Hosts very attentive and superb at communicating.

Great location, cozy spot
This apartment was a cozy haven in Venice, in a great non-touristy location. Comfy beds, amazing bookshelves packed with everything you need to know about Venice & Italy. Well appointed kitchen. Air conditioning wasn’t quite up to the heat-fans in each room helped, but was still pretty warm.

Picturesque
This rental was just as pictured. We loved the private entry and the on canal location. Check in was fairly easy. The city was beautiful but so friken hot. The air conditioner in the unit was on close to 24 hours and kept the unit comfortable. Plenty of linens and the unit was very clean.

Idyllic stay in Venice
The flat was a trip back in time to an older Venice. Replete with all the modern comforts of a/c and a dishwasher, we otherwise felt as if we were dissident writers in the jazz age with David's library, furnishings, and appointments. We very much appreciated his instructions, which helped ease our transition from COVID-USA to temporary Venetian. Thanks for being a great host and making your wonderful place available.

Beautiful flat and perfect location
Such a romantic canal side location that felt like a taste of ‘real’ Venice. I could have stayed for weeks longer!

We enjoyed our 5 day stay in Dorsoduro very much. It‘s a very nice quarter and the appartment has everything in easy walking distance. The appartment‘s kitchen is very well equipped.

a little ventian haven
Wonderful to have our own base. Perfect way to introduce our kids to the wonders of Venice, and feel like we belonged there and we're not just visitors. David's flat truly felt like our home for a few days. Everything is easily accessible and it is in the heart of Venice, but hidden away from the main tourist area. The neighbours made us very welcome and the flat is lovely

Fantastic
The apartment was perfect. Kitchen well equipped!!! Beautifully furnished, cozy. Library amazing. I go to Venice every two years and always stay in the Dorsoduro area. I think its a perfect location to walk and be quiet yet so easy to reach museums etc. This apartment for location and comfort was one of the best that I have rented ! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Like living in Venice
My 2 friends and I were delighted with our stay in this perfectly located apartment. David was so helpful in responding to our questions before we booked and in anticipation of our arrival. We each had our own comfortable bedroom, and enjoyed breakfast in the kitchen and playing cards in the living room. We would surely rent this apartment again if we havea n opportunity to visit Venice again.

Belissimo! Perfecto! Must stay again.
What an incredible house. I cannot wait to come and visit year after year. Grazie Mille! I wish I could write a novel about the house and the experience. Just do yourself a favor and book. Beds comfy, everything we needed and more. Ciao Bella! Thank you David and staff.

Absolute Perfection
David (the owner) has gone out of his way to make this apartment comfortable and homely.
From the moment we met our greeter at the meeting point I knew we were in for a great stay. However, the short walk from the canal to the apartment filled us with joy, what a beautiful location. The photos on the site do not do the location or the apartment any justice, it truely is a wonderful place.
Thank you David for all you have done to make this lovely apartment so special.

Enchanting Apartment For Bibliophiles!
We loved this apartment and David was so easy to communicate with. His collection of books on Venice is outstanding. Each of us had stacks of books on our bedside tables. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and we enjoyed meals in the apartment. This apartment is so cozy and warm. Dorsoduro is away from the throngs of tourists, but easy to walk everywhere. We wished the internet had been more robust - we rebooted it as instructed, but it was still spotty. I live in a house with spotty internet so I understand that sometimes it just can't be helped. Nevertheless, our stay was wonderful and the books more than made up for the internet! The hot water and shower were outstanding. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat, and look forward to returning. Guilia, our greeter, was a delight!

A really lovely apartment, very comfortable and well equipped.great location.highly recommend.
We had a great stay here, felt very homely and welcoming.so nice to be right on the canal in a quiet spot, yet very close to supermarket, restaurants and coffee bars.
We found the apartment spacious and well equipped, and would recommend to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay here and the neighborhood was nice and quiet.
We are a family of 5 and found that there was plenty of room here. The rooms were comfortable and worked great for our needs. The neighborhood was nice and quiet since it is not located in one of the noisier areas. The family room was nice and big and there is a great collection of books, including some of the classics. Everything worked great and it was nice being able to cook our own meals.

Great location but needs some updating
I really wanted to like this home. The host was wonderful and the check in process was great as well as we were given so much information on things to do and see. The location is also quite nice, but the air conditioners do not really do anything and it was so hot and humid that everything just felt wet and smelled musty. I know Venice is an old city with old buildings, but we stopped at a friends' rental who was also there and that place was not musty. Everything just felt old and a bit dirty and the humidity did not help. And we were not allowed to run the air conditioners overnight, yet being on the first floor we were not comfortable leaving windows open in our children's rooms. We enjoyed out time in Venice and appreciated the location very much. Thank you for providing us a place to stay.

True charm of Venice!
David was an amazing host, answered questions quickly and provided a lovely home with all the amenities. The flat was in a beautiful neighborhood and right on a canal! The flat was decorated nicely with antiques and the kitchen was well equipped. We fell in love with Venice and it's rich history. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

Atmospheric and well located but lots of small minuses
Pros: Comfortable beds, two of three bedrooms had good space, quiet location, has washing machine, appliances in good shape, okay for three people, comfortable sofa in lounge, lots of instructions for everything; plenty of towels; generally clean; plenty of spices
Cons: Front door screeched against floor, and even then didn't open fully; cramped space might be hard to negotiate for four, much less six people; wifi very spotty even when sitting right by the router; fans couldn't put a dent in the heat (late My was broiling), very, very noisy but sporadic AC didn't cool but helped with humidity; no matter how patient and careful, per instructions, just couldn't open some screens (which meant outside shutters couldn't be opened, keeping the flat dark, and not allowing for some cross breezes); dark woodwork, which was interesting, seemed designed for much larger space, so just added to gloom in the small flat; third bedroom had almost no room to get around (so was ok for one only, despite having double bed; one 20-something daughter okay with it, the other found it too 'creepy' to enter); the greeter was a totally unnecessary expense from our viewpoint (though a pleasant woman), a lock box for keys would have sufficed, given the long instructions sent well in advance of our trip; low flush broken on toilet/full flush was finicky; shower ran more like a faucet, was hard to regulate temperature, and was very narrow; ice cube trays only partially filled on arrival, and one was dirty
Overall was a good place to stay for our three-days in Venice, but too many, admittedly small problems and inconveniences kept our attention focused on them instead of the comfortable beds, getting to use the washing machine, and otherwise having a very happy, first visit to Venice. If the myriad, small problems were fixed, our rating would definitely be higher.

Perfect Venice apartment for two for a week in March
This apartment was just as lovely as we hoped and we found all the information supplied by the owner so useful. The apartment was very well equipped and quick to warm up on cold March days. It was an incredibly quiet area to live in but lots of character and great shops/bars nearby.

Comfortable Stay
Once the heating was dealt with, which was done extremely quickly, myself, husband, son and his partner thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay. Very authentic Venetian apartment with gondolas passing the windows. Very quiet area within easy walking distance to local waterbus stop at San Basilio and supermarket. Don't forget to explore the local area by foot. A very enjoyable trip all round.

It's gorgeous!
We went to Venice with the whole family (5 people) in January and had a really great time! We were extremely lucky with the weather so we could enjoy café in the sun. And we were very lucky finding this neat and perfectly suiting apartment! Equipped with 3 separate bedrooms, everything needed in the kitchen and a very cosy furniture we loved coming home every day. It is very quiet in the night, has the nicest restaurants around we found – and garbage collectors ring the doorbell to get your trash for you! Unbelievable service!
We can highly recommend this place for up to 6 people!

The apartment is lovely - well supplied and quiet - fantastic retreat from the noise of the world...
On the edge of a canal, and close to the heart of Venice, our family loved David’s apartment. We found great trattoria in the neighborhood, and had the best time leading each other astray. We felt like we were alone in the city over the holidays, and often found ourselves the only people on the street. We would recommend this to families, or small groups visiting Venice.

Delightful stay in cosy and charming apartment
We loved our stay at David's apartment. It was located in a quiet and charming area of Venice, close enough to shops and places to eat out but far enough from the crowds and peaceful at night. The apartment was clean, spacious and well set up with looks of cooking equipment. David was very helpful prior to our stay and had lots of tips of places to see, shop, eat and drink. Easy to access from Marco Polo airport with only a 5 min walk from the nearest vaparetto stop. Would highly recommend and love to return someday soon!

Clean, well appointed, and authentic.
We loved our first trip to Venice. This apartment immediately immersed us in the Venitian culture., no hotel could have done that. It was close to the sights, yet quiet enough for resting. Was perfect for our family of 5. Julia, our greeter was awesome, and so patient with us as we were later getting there because of traffic. We would definitely stay again, and will highly recommend it.

Absolutely beautiful stay
Lovely traditional apartment with plenty of space for my wife and I plus 3 children. No hesitation in recommending both the location and this apartment as a base to explore Venice.
Probably the best city break we've ever done. Thanks!
