We really enjoyed our stay here. We loved having a full view of the ocean and feeling the ocean breezes. This is an older, weathered condo with no AC, however the location is hard to beat. We were very comfortable with the ocean breeze, although we had the windows open the whole time. If you like a cold dark room with curtains drawn and AC cranked, then this isn’t for you. A short hike down a trail (.3 mi) takes you to a secluded beach only accessible to the property. Has a nice bay for swim/snorkel. The beach is sandy but the bay itself is rocky/coral. Can’t really ride any waves here, at least not in July. Condo is clean with plenty of towels and beach gear. We loved having a washer/dryer in the unit.

It started off bad right off the bat. We arrived on a Sunday, so it was after hours. We had a long flight & just wanted to relax. It was smoking hot in there...no a/c, (which I knew, but the reviews said it was no problem bc of the breeze. However, all the windows were shut when we arrived. No preparation for guests arrival) the lanai screen door was broken with a huge gap at the top allowing bugs inside, & we couldn't figure out the wifi info (which I later realized was my fault...it was in my email, but I thought it was a link to get the info, not realizing that it was right under.) We contacted the emergency # (bc that's all we had) & she was not happy with us for calling. After several back & forths, she finally gave us the password to the wifi & said someone would contact us the next day about the door. Well, nobody did. My husband called & left a message. We still received no response. (In addition, before we ever arrived, I received a text that we were arriving several days before we had it booked. I called & left a message. No response.) So, after 2 days of nobody calling us, I sent a very firm email bc not only was the lanai door an issue, one of the lamps was not working, the hairdryer plug was broken & dangerous, the housekeeper had left a wet, dirty rag on one of the chair cushions, & to top it off, the smoke detector was broken. Good luck with the shower knob. It Is backwards. After 4 days, they finally fixed things after I threatened to report them.

Our time at the condo was the highlight of the trip, so relaxing. We saw whales and dolphins from our lanai soon after we arrived. Incredible ocean views. Great kitchen. We loved the ocean view and hearing the waves crashing from comfy king-sized bed. We bbq’d almost every night. A perfect vacation. Thank you!

This property tuned out to be perfect for our trip to Kauai. The check in and information was clear. The site was gorgeous with an incredible view from both the bedroom and the main living room. The amenities were as described and we loved small touches such as the closet with beach chairs for use and beach towels- how thoughtful. We liked having a washer and drier as we did return muddy from hikes and kayaking - I had thoughtour stay was so short (4 days) that we likely did not need to do laundry but turned out to be an incredible asset not to pack those muddy clothes for the return flights. We also walked to the property beach where we watched the waves while a baby seal napped and snored away at the farther end of the beach- where else can you do that? Close to restaurants for the nights we did not wish to cook. Would happily stay again!

The view was great and we spotted several whale water spouts in the ocean, seen from the dinning table! The sheets and pillow cases were clean but the bedspread, pillow and mattress had had a horrible stench of body odor! A true barbarian had stayed there who needed to be introduced to soap and water. We reported the situation to management but nothing was done. Maybe bring a can of Lysol spray with you!

we have stayed at Sealodge before but this was our first time in G4. The views from the dining table as pictured and the lanai were exquisite as was the sound of the breaking surf. The upgraded pool facility was nice, parking was easy, location and access to Princeville cannot be beat. The unit has had some upgrades, but it is a bit run down. One the stove burners did not work, and the some of the kitchen items were sparse (3 wineglasses total). It was nice to have beach chairs, towels, etc. for our use. The barbecue situation is inadequate, requiring charcoal and a walk down a rutted path but understandable given the wood shake buildings. Management was easy to work with. I think we will return, perhaps to another unit.

We stayed for our honeymoon and we were not dissapointed! Beautiful beach view right from our king size bed and breathtaking sunrises from just outside our back lawn. We wanted to be close to the Kalalau trail and we loved this location. Close to many amazing beaches and cute little towns. We grealty appreciated the additional items including the cooler, beach towels and beach chairs. The kitchen was well equiped for many home cooked meals. And the washer and dryer were a must for our 2 week stay. The groundskeeper, Zach, offered amazing nearby attraction tips. Overall, such a pleasant stay!

It exceeded our expectations. We loved our stay here at Sealodge G4. The view was incredible from the living room and bedroom!! It was so relaxing to see and hear the ocean breeze. However- be aware- there is no A/C. The weather was a high of 85 when we were there. There are several extra fans to put out to pull in the ocean breeze. We were never uncomfortably warm. There is beach gear to use for 2 people. There is a washer dryer in the condo which was nice for the wet beach clothes/towels during our stay. We would definitely come back!

The toilet started leaking on day 5 and the maintenance person arrived within 2 hrs, fixed it within 30 min. Ants visited the counters but it wasn't terrible. Overall a great week!

Condo was shabby, drab (colors were brown and gray), not in good condition. View is great but the condition of the condo detracted from the experience. Furnishings were worn and uncomfortable, TV was broken (replaced after 2 days), outside light was inoperable (replaced after 2 days), stove and refrigerator were very old and worn, minor repairs were shoddy, locks on windows were broken and replaced with removable stops, interior paint was chipped and poorly applied, exterior shingles were missing, broken, worn and extremely unattractive, bedding was old and drab, bottom sheet did not fit mattress, dishes and silverware were mismatched leftovers, kitchen not well equipped, no beach towels provided (chair mats were represented to be towels), windows and screens were dirty and affected the view. Almost no decor or amenities. Pool was unavailable because of "renovation (per mgmt co.) but no work was underway. Lots of rules imposing obligations on lessees and suggesting we were inclined to be destructive and to be thieves. It is clear that very little money has been spent on the property in decades.

TV was broken (was replaced after two days), outside light was inoperable (was replaced after two days), no beach towels were provided (chair mats were referred to as beach towels), bedding was old and worn, bottom sheet did not fit mattress, furniture was old and tired, almost all locks on windows were broken and replaced with removal stops, windows and screens were dirty and affected the view, bedroom window curtain was repaired with electrical ties, dishes and silverware were mismatched leftovers, exterior shingles on building were broken, worn, and extremely unattractive, The pool was unavailable because it was "being renovated" (per management company) but no work was done on it in the week we were there, and there was no sign of ongoing work. Some appliances were newer, some very old (stove, refrigerator). The sparse decor was in drab browns and greys. Lots of rules that suggested we were inclined to be destructive and to be thieves. It is clear that very little money has been put into this property in decades. View was spectacular but the condition of the condo detracted from it. We would never lease this property again.

Overall this was a positive rental experience, but if you are considering renting this property, there were some definite issues to be aware of.Cons:There were 4 dishwasher pods provided for our 6 night stay - why not just provide adequate amount?There was no kitchen towels provided at all, and no dish sponge or scrubby. No way to wash pots or pans, or wipe down counters or clean anything.There were literally 2 kleenex tissues in our box with no backup box provided.No wine glasses, very little glassware at all.Cooking pans need to be replaced, very scratched.Pillows on the bed are terrible.Bathmats need to be replaced, they are gross.PROS:New bed mattress was very nice and comfortableBeach supplies provided were very convenient. The condo is in Princeville, which is a nice community with easy access to everything. The Condo was well equipped and communication with the owner was easy. The view was as shown, with the gentle crashing of the waves constantly in the background. We did have problems with the local cable but even still there was access through the TV to many other channels. This was well worth the stay and would stay there again.

Princeville has the amenities expected in a resort area - a great golf course which i had originally not planned to play, but was too gorgeous to pass up, so rented clubs and had a great time. Hanalei has a great beach town vibe and fun bars and local restaurants.
All in all, an excellent experience (bolstered by amazing weather for January).

We were worried about the lack of A/C but it wasn't really an issue. The image looking out at the ocean from the dining table really says it all. Amazing sunrise when I accidentally woke up and saw it.My only complaint was that the last day when we were away from the VRBO someone came in and "borrowed" the small cooler without us being there. Then after we officially checked out the mgmt said we'd taken the cooler and charged us for it. Only $25 but we never even used it...plus it meant someone else came into the property while we were renting it.

The only suggestions we have is that it's probably time to let go of the additional COVID cleaning fee as there isn't really anything additional needed anymore. There really isn't anything that we would recommend that needs to be changed with this great location and views. Will definitely recommend this rental and would come back.
