The cottage at Lake Sylvan
Belle maison d'hôtes à Rome City Indiana située à proximité du lac Sylvan. Le lac Sylvan est un lac de tous les sports de 700 acres, où vous pourrez profiter de jet skis, de la natation, de la pêche, du ski ou tout simplement en bateau autour des 16 miles de rivage. Il existe une réserve naturelle sur The Big Island, accessible en bateau avec plus de 2 miles de sentiers de randonnée. Gene Stratton-Porter State Memorial Park, Sylvan Cellars Event Center et Mother Mercy Event Center se trouvent à une courte distance en voiture. Le Cottage se trouve à quelques pas des rampes, des magasins d'épicerie et des appâts pour bateaux publics. Le Cottage a une grande cour pour garer ses voitures et votre remorque. Well, first of all our host David was amazingly kind and very timely in responses. Cottage was a perfect location for us super cute very clean. It was just my husband and I But could have accommodated many more people.

This was a cute little cottage that reminded me of going to stay at "Grandma's" house. Definitely an older house but it has everything you need. Contact with the host was fantastic. He responded incredibly quickly when we had questions. Nice quiet neighborhood close to the lake. I really liked that there was bottled drinking water and night lights.

Cottage was exactly as pictured and described. It was clean and very welcoming. Communication was great! We really appreciated that a water cooler was provided since the cottage is on well water. The cottage is decorated with an interesting mix of decor and knick knacks that we enjoy looking at! The neighbor/community is very nice and the lake looks great. Would definitely stay again! Thanks for a great weekend!

When we arrived, the pictures matched perfectly with the location. The cottage was a perfect little getaway to unwind and disconnect. Close to Shipshewana.

This was a great house for a couple of days while traveling from Lake Michigan back to Kentucky. It was an ideal home base for me while meeting friends at Sylvan Lake, Gene Stratton-Porter Historic Site, Sylvan Cellars, Fishing Line Trail, etc. The house was clean & comfortable, & David was friendly & super helpful by text. He came by after a severe storm to check on me; I happily chilled out during the storm by watching Amazon Prime features on the big screen TV. It's an older lake cabin that's been updated but has an added-on floorplan (e.g., you have to go through the living room, kitchen, & laundry room to get to the bathroom) -- but that worked well for me (I was there for a lake stay anyway). Great value for the price.

Property was dirty, disheveled and disorganized. Very musty smelling. Water smelled like rotten eggs. Sheets smelled. Towels were rough and stained. There were exposed gas lines and electrical cords. Heater floor vents were not screwed in. Leftover food in fridge. Definitely not a place I would recommend or revisit.

Even Better the Second Time!
This was our second visit staying in this property. We love the area, the quaintness of the cottage, and the location is perfect for our needs. The cottage is clean, very well-equipped, and the owner is absolutely amazing as far as accommodating needs and responding to issues. The back garden area is our favorite. It's spacious and private. You absolutely cannot go wrong renting this property if you have a need to stay in the area. We will be back again!

Awesome Gem
We stayed for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary. This cottage was perfect, very clean and nicely decorated, comfortable and homey. Very reasonable pricing and so very close to a beautiful lake! Close to so many places and we shopped in Shipshewana. Perfect weekend! We would book this place again and stay for a week and bring our jet skis to enjoy Sylvan Lake! Grateful for finding this gem!
