Chalet Lilia exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable, and the views are amazing. Brienno is a very quiet and peaceful town. Took the ferry to Bellagio which was beautiful but very crowded, couldn't to get back to Brienno.

Wonderful getaway for two people wanting to enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Como.

My husband and I recently stayed at Chalet Lilia for the second time. Our first stay was five years ago and we had dreamed since then of staying again. We were not disappointed! The property was just as we remembered: charming, beautiful, nestled in a quiet little town, and close to plenty of sites to see and activities to do. Our first visit was in summer. This time we visited in winter, but we stayed warm and cozy. Since it seemed water recreation was shut down for the season, we instead did quite a bit of hiking around the lake. There are lots of trails/options right near Chalet Lilia (and around the whole lake). We also saw some fabulous New Year's fireworks in Como. We did a lot of cooking during our stay. There are a few options for groceries within 20 minutes' drive and the kitchen was well equipped. We did make it out for some delicious pizza at a place just down the steps though. We will be back to Chalet Lilia again!

This was the highlight of our entire trip to Europe. I didn't think it could possibly be as perfect as the photos depict...it's BETTER! There are stunning views from every place you can sit or stand in the chalet. Comfortable, clean and quite simply INCREDIBLE!

What a wonderful stay! The Property itself was beautiful! It’s situated in a small town a short drive up the coast of Lake Como from the town of Como. The view from the property was breathtaking! The property itself was very clean and organized. The property has all the amenities that you might need for your stay - cooking, cleaning, grilling, showering and such. If you plan on staying here then you should know that there’s no grocery

This little chalet offers enormous peace and tranquility. Named Chalet Lila, it easly becomes a home of comfort and joy seconds after settling in. My wife and I found ourselves taking in the views of the lake, the majestic mountains and coastlines. The openness of the chalet brings the natural beauty of Lake Como into every room. As serine as this amazing chalet is, it sits nessilied in the coastal village of Brienno. There's a wonderful laid-back pizza restaurant bar that opens in the evening, a ferry landing, a perch for swimming in the lake and a delightful meat, cheese and bread truck that arrives 5 days a week in the mornings. We found ourselves truly in love here and we look forward to returning every summer.

Loved this place. One recommendation: additional bath towels (more than 1 each) for two adults and four night stay would be good. Trash removal instructions were also a bit confusing.

My fiance and I could not be more in love with this place. The view was incredible! We spent so much time on the balcony overlooking the lake. It was so romantic. The pizza restaurant down below was incredible, the best pizza we had in Italy! We hope to be back someday. You must have a car when you stay here. I am grateful that our host stated that from the get-go. If you are looking for a romantic, quiet and authentic place to stay to live out your Italian dream, this is it!

Lilia is a great host and the property is beautiful. Forget about the stairs - you have to work off that pasta anyway!

This beautiful chalet is in a wonderful location and is perfect for a quiet get-away. Lillia is very attentive and her descriptions and directions were excellent. Brienno is an amazing little village just up the road from Como and this chalet is a perfect place to enjoy this area of Italy.

After the hustle and bustle of the regional high tourist villages, it was wonderful to come “home” to the little stone villa and enjoy the peace and views and sounds of Brienna, with a glass of wine, of course! Pack lightly. The 88 stairs are worth it!!!!

Fantastic villa that is even prettier than the pictures. Nice quiet villa in a friendly and peaceful neighborhood with a view that we cannot forget. The beautiful church bells every morning made sure we would not sleep too late but we miss them already. We would stay here again & great communication on check in.

We had a terrific 4 night stay at this cozy villa with a wonderful view of the Lake and centrally located on the West side about a 20 minute drive north of Como itself. Communications could not have been better as Carmen is local to provide any direct requirements while her daughter (Lilia) is accessible seemingly 24/7 to answer questions about the property, provide local guidance to any attractions - and just in-general to ensure you have all you need. We spent our evenings on the balcony directly off the bedroom that provided a superior view of the town of Brienno and the lake itself…it was THE best to be able to unwind taking it the beauty of the town and lake! There is a small pizza restaurant/bar about 30 yards from you that does NOT disappoint if you choose not to explore on a given day/evening. Be sure to keep the AC running during the summer months as the home gets plenty of sun until later in the afternoon…the hearty shutters for all windows and doors does a tremendous look in managing those otherwise warm temps. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay here for couples looking for a quaint and quiet holiday rest spot that retains a central location in the small town of Brienno… We will certainly call upon Lilia & Carmen on our next visit to Lake Como! Perfecto!

Chalet Lilia is a quintessential Lake Como cottage. So charming, on the hillside above the small town of Brienno with truly fabulous views of Lake Como in all directions. Our host Lilia was incredibly responsive and full of great information about the area. I highly recommend!

Lilia's Chalet was the perfect place for our weeklong visit to Lake Como! It was an ideal choice for my husband and I, very clean and comfortable and just spectacular setting & views. The host was just incredible, so helpful and responsive to all my questions. The whole process was super easy and efficient. And the views....like nothing we have experienced before! Strongly recommend to any couple wanting to experience the true beauty of Lake Como!

This wonderfully kept just gorgeous little paradise makes everyone’s experience of the Lago di Como area at least twice as beautiful as you could have wished for !! The beautiful nested charming house has the absolute perfect views away from any street or tourist noises due to the fact that Brienno has all the major traffic passing through a tunnel behind the village!! The views to the church with the dark bluish/green lake, the steep mountains, boats water planes keep you from wanting to do much other than just sitting on the privat balcony of the master bedroom and taking it all in all day long…!! The privacy, the exceptional beauty of this so charming cozy house is just so unique! Having rented with VRBO for over 20 years and 4 years around the Lake Como & Lugano - this one is our new high standard!! Not to forget the owner/ manager - not a single wish remained undone, the gentle but 100% reliable support is priceless!!! (Note: we didn’t expect this lovely place to have Air-conditioning- and what a relieve and positive surprise coming to a rental place with the perfect condition to a comfortable sleep!) My new husband and I spent our honeymoon at Chalet Lilia and it was absolutely perfect in every sense! The home is so comfortable, the views are stunning and the convenience of having a kitchen was amazing. Brienno is also located just far enough outside Como that it is peaceful and tranquil, yet you can get to town and enjoy the tourism in just 20min. Lilia was so responsive throughout the reservation process and our stay and made everything so simple for us!! Definitely stay here if you are looking for a place around Lake Como.

We had an amazing stay. The views from the property are even better than in the pictures, the place itself is beautiful and well maintained/equipped. Communication with the host was excellent. We'll definitely come back!

My wife and I spent 2 weeks at "Chalet Lilia" and found it to be the perfect jumping off point to neighboring towns, cities, and beautiful vistas! We flew into Milan and the Chalet was a perfect distance (45 minutes). We were given all the information accurately before the visit which was perfect for checking in without any problems. The Chalet was just as described and has an incredible 180+ degree view of Lake Como. It was perfect for us as a couple. Being here for 2 weeks, we utilized the kitchen completely, making breakfasts and lunch there often. There are nearby markets for groceries which was convenient and after 1 week used a local laundromat which worked out great too. Renting a car is a must and using it, we travelled to many of the major towns along the west side of Lake Como (Como, Argegno, Tremezza, Menaggio). We took several ferry trips across to Bellagio and Varenna which was also convenient from neighboring Tremezza. Lilia and Carmen were spot on with recommendations for dinners nearby and have a list of many go-to places that they send you. We thought the pizza place locally in Brienna was great and was nice due to the close proximity (walking distance) to the Chalet. Some of our favorite activities included a Greenway hike (10 km) and trips to Lugano, and the many villas (D' Este, Balbienello, Melzi, Monastero). The Chalet was very quiet throughout, internet worked great (had some business to do while there) and the utilities were all in working condition without problems. The grounds around the Chalet allowed for routine aperitivos with the lounge chairs and patio furniture adding to the ambiance. Lilia and Carmen answered some questions during our visit promptly and were generally interested in having us enjoy our stay. We highly recommend Chalet Lilia without reservations and would love to return to continue to explore the surrounding areas! Viva Chalet Lilia! Grazie mille, Lilia and Carmen

This is a beautiful one-bedroom cottage in the quaint village of Brienno, on the west side of Lake Como. The cottage is well-kept with an upstairs terrace off the bedroom, and a small yard on the first floor. Everything was just as advertised inside and out, and the view of the lake and mountains was breathtaking. The owners (mother and daughter) are extremely sweet and responsive. We would definitely go back.

The village itself is quiet and compact, easy to enjoy a walk to the lake or pizza at the nearby restaurant. We thought it was a good jumping-off point for exploring the hills and villages onward to Bellagio, with many good restaurants and parks along the routes and good roads connecting them. The flat is clean and warm, with marvelous views along the lake especially at sunrise and sunset. It was very comfortable for two, with a well-equipped kitchen and upstairs bedroom. The heat and hot water was exceptionally good given the cold January nights. We didn't have any issues with parking, and the village stairs up to the apartment were wide and well lit. We appreciated all of the guidance which the hosts provided, and their availability to answer questions prior to our arrival. This is a great place to stay! Brienno is a small town, and chalet Lilia was a nice, relaxing place to stay. Great for a husband and wife.

The home was exactly as represented. The view from both inside and outside was simply stunning. We loved sitting on the balcony outside the bedroom sipping coffee or wine. It was so peaceful and pretty. The walk-up to the home is steep so we were glad we packed light. The walk is worth it though as the view is amazing. There is plenty of free parking nearby. The entire house was so well laid out and had everything we needed to include a kettle for making coffee, a nice sized fridge and freezer (with three ice trays! Yay!), a nice sized bathroom with hooks for our bathroom bag and plenty of countertop space. It was all very cozy, clean and relaxing. We ate at the local pizza place twice and it was so good! We had a rental car (a must have when staying here) so we explored all the nearby towns and took the ferry to other sites we were interested in. We bought some groceries in a nearby town (I forget the name of the town but it’s in the guest book) and we had breakfast at the house every day. We learned from locals the Como really doesn’t have an off season anymore so reservations for dinner are highly recommended. We loved how peaceful Brienno was and would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days of relaxation after spending the previous week on the go around northern Italy, and it was perfect. The property and views of the surrounding area were beautiful. There were lots of opportunities for activities like kayaking, renting a speedboat, and taking the ferry to see some towns across the lake. Carmen and Lilia were very welcoming and communicative. We would definitely stay here again the next time we have the chance to come back to Lake Como!

My wife and I stayed here for three days. This was our first visit to Italy and Brienno, Como was not disappointing! Beautiful views and friendly neighbors and villages. Both Carmen and Lilia were very well coming and responsive. We would and will highly recommend this property. Hope to return soon!!

The cottage has spectacular views no matter where you go (and from bed). It's very well-thought out and comfortable. We were there in the winter and did not use the garden level much, but it looks like the perfect place for a bbq or to spend an afternoon reading a book and sipping wine. Lilia and Carmen were very responsive and helpful. When our train was delayed causing a missed connection, they responded quickly and made sure we could still check-in easily once we found a new route. This is a really incredible and special place. I can't imagine many places with such great views and such privacy at the same time.
