Well set up accommodation and close to beach, with township not too far away. Would strongly recommend this place. Roomy, facilities excellent and helpful owner.

fabulous location... so close to beach and also close to town (about 5 minutes drive). very comfortable house with plenty of space and had everything you need for a good stay

Thought I had booked a motel in the city for a quick one night stay, instead i was met with luxury with full size kitchen and lounge, beautiful bathroom, lovely breakfast and great little touches such as snacks, chocolate and juice.

The property was immaculate, owner came to greet us in person, location was great and so close to town, beautiful quiet relaxed atmosphere

We found everything that we would find in our own home, you name it, it was there. Even serial and fruit and yoghurt. Full laundry and a host of kitchen appliances. The outside feature of lawn and seating was really great area to sit and sip a cool beer. Many thanks

I couldn't rate the hosts, just saw the lady for a few minutes when we arrived. I was still trying to get out of our vehicle but she was nice. I loved the place and hope that it will be available for when I next need to be in Whakatane. It is beautiful. I couldn't fault anything. Yes that's the trouble in attracting other travellers - I may not be able to stay here again because it will always be booked out when I want it. Will have to wait and see. I have already thought of returning there soon.

Quiet warm clean easy to find

This is a very spacious and comfortable unit with everything we needed for our stay. The supplied continental breakfast was good and we would happily stay here again.

The shower is over the bath so you do need to take care stepping in and out.

A very well appointed apartment. Very comfortable. Great facilities. We were there for only one night but could have stayed much longer.

Room was super clean with plenty of space. Bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast. Yogurt, fruit & choice of cerals.

We arrived late at night. Our wonderful hosts left lights on and had heat pump on to ensure it was nice and warm when we arrived.

Felt safe & secure

I came with my daughter for a Mother's day get together. Breakfast was perfect for our taste, the rooms were very nicely appointed. Great heatpump, warmed us up perfectly. Lovely garden and sitting area outside. Everthing was explained. Great Hosts indeed.

Only problem was the condensation in the bathroom, doors dripping with water even when windows opened and fan having been deployed as requested. The frames and edges were dirty with mould on all the window edges. Windows clean though except bathroom and toilet ones which were very mouldy, just edges having been missed regularly on the other ones as well. I cleaned them to the best I could with limited success.

A great location, friendly helpful hosts. The unit had everything you could possibly need to self cater and breakfast included. A carport to park in and a lovely covered outdoor seating area were a bonus.

it was a spacious comfortable suite, opening to a beautiful private back yard. the kitchen was well stocked and Sandra and Doug were the best hosts you could ask for. They gave us lots of good advice, especially about the coming cyclone and we were able to stay an extra two days to avoid the storm. A lovely short walk led us to the huge beach and very friendly locals to visit. The community was very quiet, away from the main town but only a short drive from all the amenities and sites.
