Fox Tails everywhere, and you get a 1/4 of a garage not a cottage house. Ants everywhere in the kitchen, and we did not bring food! Never should of canceled my reservation at the Beach Comber.

We enjoyed staying there and will be back.

We enjoyed our stay in this cute little garden cottage. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The garden was bursting with lovely lilies, fuchsia, and rock roses. Close to Little River, Mendocino, and state beaches/parks.

Loved this cottage. Close to restaurants, golf, kayaking. Would definitely recommend.

Funny little lock key box, took a minute to figure how to use it.

Super cute little spot. Close to tons of hiking and wildlife. Beach is just below. Heater works amazingly well. The BBQ is great for a camping out feel.

A little scruffy but you’re in a world class destination and what do you really need beside a hot shower(on demand), a queen bed that’s comfy and a little table and chairs by the barbecue w/a fenced private yard for man’s best friend! We loved it as a jump off to this amazing California Coast.

I had the pleasure of a five-night stay in the garden cottage. Perfectly suited for a solo stay. It is roomy enough for two, but bear in mind that it is compact. The deck and garden expands the space. Probably best functions as a base while getting out and exploring during the day. The well water is excellent and very palatable right out of the tap. No sulphury or metallic taste. Have a little patience with the on demand hot water and you're good! Very private. Some traffic noise that tapers off at night. Otherwise, peaceful and quiet. I really enjoyed the sound of the wind in the trees, hummingbirds and butterflies in the garden and curious chipmunks (Ground squirrels?). Very accessible to Mendocino town, rivers, beaches, restaurants, shopping and hiking.

Comfy bed, quiet and peaceful, quaint and lovely garden

A bit confused between Ocean Cottage and Garden Cottage since Ocean Cottage had the address on the wall. Great memories of long Mendocino weekends when I was a child. A few ants in the bathroom. The refridgerator was so cold it froze my vegetables. I would stay here again.

It was a place to stay and was very quiet - however there is definitely a mouse and ant problem.

The location is amazing, right off HWY 1. The garden area was the best thing about this place. Fenced off for my small dog to run around. Other than that, nothing spectacular. You are renting a studio that is an add on to a garage, on the same property as the main house that may or may not have renters there at the same time as your stay. Strange setup in my opinion. Better than a Motel 6 but I agree with others that for the price, I expected more. The main house looks nice and worth renting, if again you don’t mind having strangers on the same property as you, which could happen if you don’t rent out both the main house and garden cottage at the same time. Overall, nice location and yard but I would pass on this and try and find something else if visiting the area again in the future.

I did not love anything! There are no numbers on the house to locate it. I was charged 324.00 for a booking/cleaning fee.
Never again will I use Vacasa! When we called to ask about the address of the cottage the woman was rude and could’ t tell us anything about the cottage. Very bad experience.
3.0
It was of the highway enough to be quiet and had been cleaned before our arrival. It was adequate in most aspects. The fence will not keep a small/medium dog in. There is an ant problem also. I never give a 5 of 5 rating. I would rate overall at a 3 because of the ants and fence issues.

Overall a little small. Great privacy and lovely garden. Converted garage with garden deck and off-street parking. 10 miles from Mendocino. Clean and cosy.

My husband and I were looking for a quick get-away for a few days to escape the scorching Lake County heat, and found this place. It was the perfect location for access to the Mendocino coast, and its affordability made a multi-night stay viable.
The room is a generous size, and tastefully decorated. Love the flooring and the lack of carpets. The walk-in shower was a powerful, warm and welcome experience after an afternoon of ocean kayaking! The queen bed was "just right" and provided a great night's sleep for the both of us.
Remember to take a photo of the access code, so you don't inadvertently lock yourself out ;)
No more day trips to the coast for us - we'll now book an overnight here to savor our short breaks just that little bit longer!

My husband and I had a beautiful week in this lovely garden cottage! It was so private and quiet that we were able to turn on 'relax mode' almost as soon as we got there.
2.0
The first two pictures about the property are VERY misleading. There is NOT an ocean view from the cottage. The garden is unkempt and overgrown with weeds. It's small and cramped. Problems with the shower handle coming off when turning the shower on. The shower floor is not level and does not drain on one side. Chairs were low and hard to get up from. Not recommended for older or handicapped people.

Peaceful
It's so cute and cozy! Super clean, the area is so nice and so are the people. Glass beach was lovely too.

Last minute getaway
We wanted to get away for a long weekend and this cozy cottage was just right. Nothing fancy but quiet and right off the main road.

Wonderful stay
I enjoyed the location and comfort of this property. My daughter and I traveled alone and we felt safe and at ease. The night sky was amazing and being close to everything was perfect for us. It was a great mother and daughter bonding experience.

This property is a great value
Quiet and comfortable. My friends booked a stay in Albion and I wanted to join them. They stayed right on a cliff les than a mile away directly above the crashing waves with gorgeous views. While Albion Garden Cottage doesn’t offer these spectacular views it has a lovely cottage feel in one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Beautiful location and just the perfect size for a small getaway. Close to Mendocino, Little River, Fort Bragg and all the wonderful parks.
The rental itself is nicely equipped with some kitchen supplies for cooking and cleaning, although it is outdated and has some repairs that should be made. Poor lighting outside for the evening, it’s bright porch light or nothing some small deck lights would do the trick. The shower handle is broken and on backwards as well as a broken bathroom sink handle. The bed is saggy and the linens do seem like they could be refreshed, There is a definite problem with ants inside and make sure you keep the outside garbage lid locked so the critters don’t get in it. The garden could use some upkeep for the ambience as it is listed as a “Garden Cottage”
I’m not a fussy person and none of those things deterred me. I still enjoyed my stay very much and just noted these things and made adjustments.

Small, but comfortable.
Good location, quiet. Deck and fenced yard for dog. Lots of hummingbird activity. Used gas grill for 2 dinners. TV streaming undependable, our back-up notebook worked better

This small mother in law unit is exactly as described. Quiet, Quaint, and Quinticential. No frills. What we needed for a quick weekend to the coast.

A perfect place for two…
We loved the cottage… and the location. There was fog in the morning in Mendocino and no fog at the cottage. The restaurant across the street is superb and it is convenient to the grocery store for coffee in the morning. We loved the fenced garden and the privacy of the cottage.

Conveniently Located Cozy Cottage
The Cottage is conveniently located right off Hwy 1, with scenic views easily accessible. The Cottage provides moderate comfort and conveniences. Great location and easily accessible to all major attractions. Highly recommend if you only need a base for your adventures. Clean and well kept, easy to find, and perfect for a weekend visit getaway for two.

The Quiet Place
Great cozy place to escape from the world. In the evenings we kissed to the crashing waves and wanted the hummingbird. We will be back.

We loved the quiet location of this home. Private garden, close to beach, kayaking, delicious restaurant, and very clean.

This place reminded me of Europe not in a good place but because it's dated and worn down looking. This place is an overpriced and Run down. My husband and i run several short term properties in the cities and tahoe. I don't know why people rated this as mostly 5 star. I would never let my friends nor someone who is paying me to stay at this place. For the amount i paid for this place a nighy I would expect at-least a 4 star standard. Backyard needs major trimming and redoing. Furnitures, appliances and design are old and tired. Doesn't even have a toaster and an electric water heater for tea or hot cocoa which is a major basic. Shower pressure was low and the shower head needs to be changed. Outdoor paint is peeling off. TV kept turning off for no reason. The only thing i liked was that our dog had a backyard he can walk around in, otherwise i would give this a 0/5 for the amount of money i paid. Definitely would not recommend or come back to this place. Vacasa needs to recommend the host to upgrade their properties. The positive side is that it made us go out more so we don't have to stay at this place more than we needed to.

We were comfortable. Had all the basics for the bathroom and kitchen including soap, shampoo, dishes and cups, silverware, etc.Bathroom outlet didn't work and the front door was difficult to open but otherwise we were comfortable. Being new to this service i was anxious about the checkin process and i had to send an email request for the check in code which did come soon after my email.

Beautiful location
This is our second time staying here and the place had everything that we needed. It took us less than ten minutes to walk down to the beach and just about ten minutes to drive into downtown Mendocino. It was perfect!

Simple and quiet
This place feels very private and has everything a weary travel might need to rest along the road. Very easy to find but off the road enough so there’s no hint of highway 1. Albion is a sleepy bedroom community and that’s what makes it so special. We loved our stay there!

Overall it was excellent place to stay. We would be happy to rent it again!

Do not deal with Vacasa, but this cottage is great
We very very strongly suggest that no one ever deal with Vacasa in any way. They canceled our reservation 2.5 hours before check-in, because they made a mistake. Note that our drive to the accommodation was 4 hours long. Their offered solutions were (a) just refund our money (that's not really an "offer" since they were violating our contract), or (b) switch our reservation to a different accommodation that was 4 hours from our original reservation, in a fire evacuation order zone ("Leave now!") and had air quality hazardous for health.
We spent a huge amount of time and were stressed a lot, in trying to cope with this. Vacasa never was proactive in helping nor even offering help. We had to painfully extract all info from them, come up with our own ideas of how to cope, and repeatedly ask them for info and help. Eventually they refunded our entire fee, since we had to pay for a different accommodation not managed by Vacasa for our final night plus one night there while we still were in our original accommodation.
The Albion Garden Cottage was great, and we highly recommend it. Unfortunately the only way to stay in it is to deal with Vacasa, which completely outweighs the benefit of the cottage itself, so we will not stay in the Cottage again unless a different management company is involved.
