Wonderful home with dock on Tellico Lake

We had a lovely stay at Doc Holiday house! Nestled in a quiet cove at Tellico lake you’ll enjoy peaceful mornings and even quieter nights!
The walk to the dock is 74 steps with areas to rest along the way if need be. The dock has a small table ( no umbrella) but nice for a glass of wine or coffee. We rented a pontoon for the week which was delivered to us and enjoyed the lake! The house had all we needed although we had to scrounge around as things were not very organized in the kitchen ( no big deal).
The house could use a second garbage can in the
Garage- as it goes out Tuesday morning so it was already full from the last renters causing the garage to smell bad.
Overall the outdoors could use some TCL to reduce the vines climbing up the trees to make it more visually appealing and save the beautiful oak trees- but this didn’t impact our stay.
We’d stay again and the host was super responsive to our questions prior to rental!
Plenty of room to spread out and we enjoyed the ping pong table several evenings!

The location was awesome! The owners were great and responded promptly to an issue with the ladder on the dock. The house could definitely use some up grades, but overall a fantastic vacation!

For the third year we have enjoyed a wonderful stay at this “home away from home!”
The owners are so very responsive if an issue arises and the home is very clean! Great lake access!

Felt like home away from home! Enough space that 3 family units had their own spot, yet large rooms accommodated family fun. Excellent communication and response from owners! Hope to make it our annual Tennessee retreat!

Everything went perfectly. We had one small issue, but the owners were quick to respond and was handled right away. I loved the layout of the house with 2 bedrooms on main level and the other 2 on lower level. We had all ages from 18 months to 73 years old. The lake house was perfect for everyone. It was great to be able to have our boat and jetski right there ready to use at any moment. The kids really enjoyed jumping off the dock with floats when the grown ups didn’t want to go out in the boat. The home was clean and had just about everything you needed. I would recommend for anyone. Great hosts. Great location.

We love this house! Lots of space to spread out with family and such a beautiful lakefront location.

The home was very nice albeit a bit neglected and needed some updating. Kitchen was not as clean and organized as I had hoped. I found used pans in cabinets inadequately cleaned, cabinets were unorganized with lots of out dated food items. Rug in kitchen was filthy. I spent a couple of hours the first day making sure everything was as clean as I like.
The positives outweighed the negatives. Beautiful lake with very little lake noise, screened in back porch with great view of the lake.

We loved our stay in this wonderful, peaceful lakefront home! The communication with Stacy and Jim was great and checking in was a breeze. The views from the porch and dock are calm and relaxing, just what we needed. The home was clean, comfortable, welcoming and stocked with everything we could possibly require. Grocery stores are close by and the airport was only 40-45 minutes away. Locally, Thai Bistro and Monkey Town Brewing were delicious with MTB having a nice selection of local brews or try a sample flight. Knoxville is a lively city with a great selection of restaurants, bars, live music, stores and just a 45 minute drive. We also spent a fun day in Gatlinburg; so much to do there.
As we wanted to rent a pontoon boat for the week, it was recommended by Stacy and Jim to give Tellico Lake Boat Rentals a call. Christine and Bob were pleasant and provided great service. Our boat was delivered right to our lakefront dock by with pickup at the end of the week. The whole process was easy and convenient.
Overall, it was the perfect family vacation on a beautiful lake. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends! Thank you Stacy and Jim!!

“What a view”. “This place is awesome”. Those were the first words out of my family members. The pictures do not do it justice. We really enjoyed this place. It was centrally located. We had family and friends coming from California, New York, Arkansas as well as locally from Knoxville and Georgetown. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The kids really enjoyed fishing off the dock. Great neighborhood. We enjoyed walking in the evenings. We enjoyed spending time in the enclosed porch that overlooked the lake and had fun playing the board game that was on the table! There was a ping pong table, but we did not partake.
The owners were very helpful about providing links for boat rentals. Unfortunately, the lake level was too low at the time and we were not allowed to rent.
Overall, great place and we would love to spend time here again.

This property was ideal for our 35th annual men’s golf trip. Property was clean, in good condition, and had all the amenities we needed. Very comfortable with plenty of space to visit. Sleeping arrangements were very adequate with plenty of linens and bath towels.
Great property!
Thanks for letting us stay we had a great reunion.

First, I have to say that Stacy was a fantastic communicator before we even arrived. I emailed her several times with questions about location, a previous reviewer's comments, the size of the dining room table, instructions on entering the home, etc. She responded within 24 hrs or less each time.
When we arrived, the house was decorated for the holidays to include a Christmas tree in the corner. What a nice surprise!
All the beds were clean and comfortable. The only real issue we had was due to the unseasonably frigid temperatures that occurred. Numerous homes throughout the area were having heating problems and the electric company was doing rolling blackouts. The heat went out in the house and we contacted Jim (co-owner). He was at the house within 10 minutes on Christmas Eve trouble-shooting the problem and bringing space heaters in the interim. He was in constant contact with my husband to ensure the problem got resolved quickly. His customer service was outstanding.
The location of the property was perfect for us (close to my brother's home in Tellico Village) and the water view was nice. The one negative for us was probably the driveway. It's rather steep and we only had use of one of the spaces in the garage. So, my sister & her family resigned themselves to parking on the road near the top of the driveway. If we had the other car space, she also could have parked in the garage, which would have been nice due to the frigid weather and the couple days we had snow on the ground. I probably could have coordinated this with Stacy in advance, but I just didn't think about it.
Overall, a nice Christmas stay!

Our goal was to have a golfing vacation in a beautiful area - this wonderful home on Tellico Lake was an excellent choice. The home was absolutely perfect for our trip - spacious, comfortable, clean and equipped with everything we needed for a great stay. The setting - overlooking beautiful Tellico Lake from the 3 season room, outdoor patios (yes plural!) or dock side seating was awesome! Communication with owners, Stacy and Jim, was exceptional. They responded to all our communication quickly and thoroughly. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. Jim and Stacy provided helpful information about Tellico Village and surrounding area. Tellico Village golf courses and restaurants - great! We would not hesitate to stay in this lovely home again. Stacy and Jim - thank you for everything!

Big House

The house suited our needs and was very spacious. It is not suited for trailers if you're hauling motorcycles but we adjusted to that. The house would be ideal for a family getaway or bachelor/Bachelorette party with the 4 BR and 3 bathrooms plus a game room. I would probably take inventory of kitchen items and have basics, i.e., paper products, trash bags, dish soap, bath soap in every bathroom plus toilet paper. When flying in and renting, that is stuff you're not able to bring with. Fortunately, we brought it all because we drove.
Overall, we enjoyed the house and worked for us.
Thank you!

Property nice with a lot of space and water views. Neighborhood quite and friendly. Very little activity on the lake. Most of the time we were the only boat on the water. Not much to do locally, but not too far from larger attractions.

Starting with the positives…the area and cove view are awesome! The house is spacious and easily accommodated a family of 8 adults. It is conveniently located to everything you need both on and off the water (marinas, restaurants, grocery stores, gas etc) . The owners are quick to respond and very friendly. The dated decor and mix match of furniture give it more of a rustic cabin feel and honestly not the style of living we’re use to in 2022. Clean white towels in every bathroom are a huge suggestion. The negatives that I hope the owners will address…the master & downstairs bathrooms need work (cracked tile with soft floor beneath mold & urine odors). The roof leaks in their beautiful 3 seasons room and opening 2 windows plus a wall plug in told us that’s a known issue. The abundance of insects including large ant colonies in the kitchen were unacceptable and with traps already in place that is also a known issue. The ladder at the dock is unsafe and a “new” one was never delivered. We own rental properties and to keep good repeat renters there can’t be more excuses than improvements. Most people will care for the condition of your home more than you may think. We appreciate the use of the property and wish you all happy lake adventures!

Very roomy home with great lake views! Good communication with owners! Close proximity to favorite Tennessee spots. Hope to stay here during our next visit!

Interior was clean. Outside had ants. No Kayaks or canoes. If you don't have a boat..not much to do. Hard to get a boat rental. Loud AC in master bedroom. Other bedroom on first floor sqeeks so loud...keeps person sleeping on bottom floor up al night. Fan on bottom floor under the bedroom keeps person up on top floor with loud noise.

From start to finish it was a great place to stay.

property has a lot of deferred maintenance. Stairs leading to dock are not clean, nail heads sticking up, dock is covered in cobwebs, stairs out of water are unsafe, 1 floatable provided, dock lift does not function so you have to tie your boat up next to dock, sun room is very unclean with cobwebs everywhere and insects crawling all over. Ancient coffee maker, very few pillows which are old and the beds are very firm. Carpet has stains and is worn out. AC unit makes a terrible humming noise in the master bedroom making it impossible to sleep with unit on. Very old inefficient ceiling fans, most of the windows do not have screens so you cannot open them to bring in cool evening air. The steam iron provided is miniature. landscaping is overgrown and unsightly.

Everything was great, start to end! This is a great location right on the water and we spent a lot of time swimming, playing, boating and jet skiing. The house was big enough we could have gotten a few more people in (we had 7 adults). Everyone had space inside and out to get away from it all and even take a break from each other when needed.
The hosts were awesome too! The coffeemaker went out one morning and a replacement was delivered within just a few minutes.
Beautiful house, beautiful lake, beautiful weather, and a genuine chance to relax.
Thanks for being great hosts, Stacy & Jim! We hope to come back!

We have family living in Tellico Village and have always loved the area for its lake access and golf. When I needed to find a place for 4 couples, I was sure the Dock Holiday House would be perfect.
PROS:This particular area was very peaceful; very few neighbors around. (But very friendly folks walking/walking dogs.) The decks served all of our needs-from grilled meals at the large table on the lower level, to private morning coffee time on the bedroom decks, to the comfort of the screened in porch off the main level. The stairs to the dock was one topic of conversation but everyone made his/her way to the dock during the stay! The other topic was the steep driveway! Everyone’s bedroom was private and comfortable.
CONS: I did not like finding leftover condiments and food in the two refrigerator/freezers. I feel it should be emptied and wiped down after each rental. A locked closet or refrigerator could hold owner’s “extras”, or the cleaning service should dispose of these items afterwards. Also, some outdoor maintenance should be kept up before the beautiful decks/stairs succumb to the elements.
I can just imagine what warm summer days would be like here and what fun it would be to kayak, swim, and boat from this location. It was a perfect retreat for this April stay.
