Luxurious apartment in front of the Palace of the Popes A/C
Luxueux appartement en duplex rénové début 2019 situé en face du Palais des Papes dans un bâtiment ancien. Non seulement l'accès se fait par la Place du Palais mais l'appartement est particulièrement au calme, car il donne exclusivement sur un des célèbres jardins secrets d 'Avignon appartenant à un petit hôtel particulier du XVIIIe.
Cet appartement de 56 m² se compose d'un premier étage avec salon et cuisine américaine entièrement équipée.
Air conditionné dans les 2 chambres ainsi que dans le salon.
Au deuxième étage se trouve une chambre de 20 m² avec 2 lits de 80 cm x 200 cm ( pouvant former un lit double de 160 cm ) ainsi qu'une autre petite chambre annexe avec 2 lits de 70 cm x 190 cm ( pouvant former un lit double de 140 cm. )
Cette seconde chambre convient plutôt à des adolescents ou des enfants ou bien à un couple pour un court séjour car elle n'est pas très grande.
Entre les deux étages se trouve la salle de bain avec douche à l'italienne et toilettes.
Wi-Fi, télévision et lecteur CD et radio dans le salon.
La décoration est constituée de meubles modernes, vintage et d 'objets d'art.
Un parking public payant se trouve à moins de 30 mètres. ( 19 Euros par jour ou 60 euros par semaine hors été. Si vous restez plus de deux jours, il est préférable de prendre le forfait semaine). Il existe également un parking gratuit hors les murs avec navette gratuite.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is in a great location, right across from the palace. Even though it is on a busy square, the apartment itself is very quiet, with a lovely shaded courtyard. The apartment is clean and well taken care of, with lots of little thoughtful things to make your stay more pleasant. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable, and the AC was highly effective (it was unseasonably hot during our stay and the apartment was always cool!). Communication with Alain was great. Even though we arrived a day late due to issues with the trains, Alain was there to welcome us. He showed us around the apartment and left us a lovely bottle of wine. The parking he recommended was perfect - the entrance is right across from the apartment. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Avignon!

We had a wonderful stay at Alain's apartment. The location is fabulous - you walk out the front door and you are right in front of Palais des Papes. There are restaurants, cafes and supermarkets all around the area. It was perfect for us. Alain was very good at keeping in touch with us and we appreciated the warm welcome (and fresh home-made lemonade) when we arrived. The apartment is cosy and is well equipped - we appreciated the washing machine and the air con was vital as it was very very hot. We had a great time in Avignon and would definitely stay at Alain's place again.

The property is stunning in it's history and it's been updated to suit modern family travel. You really can't get more close to the history of Avingnon. The host was as fantastic as the apartment. We had an amazing visit. You should stay here. Very clean. Very safe

My college-age kids and I spent four nights in Alain's lovely apartment. He's a fabulous host and we had everything we needed. We loved the historic building, unique architecture of the former guard tower, and central location on the square facing the palace. The A/C was much appreciated! Fantastic all around!

My husband and I stayed with Alain from May 10 - 15, 2024. The apartment’s setting is outstanding: across from the Palais de Papes, and central to all things in Provence.
Alain is a very gracious host, providing suggestions (and reservations) for wonderful restaurants and bistros. He touched base with us periodically to ensure we were enjoying our stay; he even added a baguette to his morning order when we asked where we could find a good boulangerie.
We highly recommend staying here if your travels take you to Avignon!

We had travel problems and did not arrive until 1AM the day AFTER we were supposed to arrive. Alain left the front door unlocked for us and communicated with us until 30 minutes before we arrived to ensure we made it. Parking is great, park close to the main elevator bank. Apartment has steps, it's worth it for the incredible location alone. Stairwell is beautiful, kitchen living room is spacious and the windows (they open) into the courtyard made it airy and fresh. Great shower. Traveling with a friend of 50 years, highly recommend Alain's place!

This apartment is really spacious and was perfect for our family of four. Moreover it is in an unbelievable location, opening straight onto the Palais du Papes, and really close to just about everything you need in Avignon. The small room with two single beds was quite confined for two teenagers, but with a large sitting room, it wasn’t a problem at all. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom adequate - the inclusion of a washing machine was a valuable one for us, and the heating excellent in winter such that clothes dried quickly.
We were met by the host, who had great communication in the lead-up, and who manages a B&B in the same building. This made it all seamless at check-in.
All in all an excellent stay and definitely somewhere we would return to in Avignon - thank you!

Super comfortable, and very unique. Location couldn’t be better. The parking the owner recommends is quite literally steps from the front door and very convenient. Alain was lovely, history of the apartment was fascinating. The apartment was quiet despite being on a very busy central square. Very functional with comfortable beds and pillows. Laundry and drying racks were helpful. Nespresso for coffee in the mornings is always a plus for us. There were some squawky pigeons but that’s the only thing remotely negative I can think of. I would absolutely stay again.

I have rented many VRBOs over the years and have never been more impressed with the communication and thoughtfulness of our host in giving detailed instructions on everything- how to get there, how to run all the appliances, where to park, what to see, how to find things.... It was a pleasure. The apartment was more comfortable than most I have rented and the location was terrific. The only drawback was that the apartment was on 3 floors. I didn't mind the stairs because I got to burn off the calories from the wonderful French cooking and desserts.

This place was a perfect base to explore Avignon and the surrounding area. It was really fun to be right next to the Papal Palace. The property itself was really comfortable but also had great character. Alain was a great host and so friendly! We parked our car in the nearby garage that was fairly expensive, but we did use the weekly rate and that it made it worthwhile for us. I would stay at this place again for sure the next time we're in the area!

The whole experience was beyond our expectations as it was a last minute decision to visit the city. Alain is an experienced and gracious host, we were instantly comfortable and he made us feel very welcome. The apartment is lovely and unique. The winding staircase through a medieval tower added to the charm for us. It has a beautiful view over the host's private garden, there's even a resident cat to greet you. A very warm welcome from Alain started our lovely stay in Avignon. Right in the heart of all the action but totally quiet inside because the apartment faces the inside garden. Modernised and comfortable without losing the charm of the original features. Like many buildings in the old town you will need to be able to negotiate stairs.

Loved it. Very comfortable historical home near everything. Provence was in the 90's but home had A/C in all areas and a beautiful garden area. Alain even helped us get a taxi when nothing was available.

Everything is amazing
The location is right across from Palace of the Popes and central to all the shops and restaurants in the old town. We loved being central so we could take a break during the day. Underground parking is just a few steps from the door. The property is a 3 story tower that was perfect for our family of four. The old architecture was renovated into a charming space with all the comforts of now and beautiful marble staircase through the center. Definitely felt like we were staying in a part of history. Loved it!

Amazing location and an impeccable host
Alain could not have been more helpful. I began corresponding with him a few months before our visit and he responded almost immediately with helpful advice. He arranged for taxis both on arrival and on our early morning departure and ensured we were safely collected. The apartment is situated exactly on the Palais des Papes square - the view at any hour is awe-inspiring. The apartment was very well-equipped and extremely comfortable. Location, location, location!
The home opens up to the courtyard looking up at the Pope’s Palace, a few meters from parking, and central to everything. It had a lot of character, was comfortable with air conditioning in the summer, and had everything we needed. Alain welcomed us and was very helpful. We’d definitely stay again.

Gorgeous apartment in a perfect location
Perfect spot to discover Avignon and its surroundings. Opposite the Palais des Papes, easy access by car in & out of the city (using the public parking recommended) and located in a beautiful ancient building. Communication with owner was all digital (he was not in the city during our stay) but very reactive with fast answer to our demands. I definitively recommend this apartment.
