We had a wonderful stay at the Fasching House! The accommodations were clean, the keyless entry was very convenient for check-in and coming and going. Our family enjoyed the outdoor hot-tub several times. The living room has a nice view of Ajax mountain and has a cozy vibe with its open concept living room. Highly recommend to others looking to stay in downtown Aspen!

My son turned 30 this month and decided to come to Aspen to celebrate. There were 5 of us at the property and were extremely comfortable. It was nice to be able to have a wood fire in the fireplace in the evening and the condo was extremely close to everything. We enjoyed being able to walk to dinner/bar/grocery store which meant just parking the car once right outside the condo to unload and then load and go when our trip was done.

The property location is ideal as it is just up the hill from the buses. The property is clean and well equipped for 6. We found a way to ski back to the property from Aspen Mountain. The out door hot tub was perfect. Overall a great value.

The property is walking distance to town and hiking trails. It was very clean and had toiletries which was helpful. Very nice to have bedrooms on a separate floor than the kitchen, patio, and family room. Those that wanted to be up early didn’t disrupt the others wanting to sleep in. Pool and hot tub were also very convenient. Looking forward to booking again!

The condo is a great location. Walking distance to town and the Gondola. The unit is bright and very comfortable. The layout with the bedroom on the first floor makes the kitchen, living and dining are very bright with nice views. We had an incredible time In Aspen.

vacation in Aspen
built sometime early 70s when no-one installed air conditioning
now with a small unit upstairs with strict instructions not to run
it more than 4 hours at a stretch, but came in handy mid afternoon. Bedrooms downstairs a bit warm at night even with windows open. The window shades master bedroom had been broken and remained unrepaired. Steep climb to property but good proximity to downtown. Nice pool complex

Perfect get-away
Shari was extremely helpful our whole stay start to finish. All of Aspen lost gas during our visit for 2 days, so what could have been a total mess was actually well handled. The unit has unlimited wood for burning in the fireplace, which we loved. Kids loved that the hot tub was only a 4 second run from the unit's front door. Having the central bus station just down the road is awesome. Property just as pictured, beautifully decorated, and has everything you could need for a relaxing stay. We would stay here again for sure! Thanks for a much needed get-away :)

Great trip to Aspen
The condo was really well located in Aspen...easy to walk everywhere. It was well appointed and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were really close and the kids loved to swim after a day of hiking or exploring.
We were pleasantly surprised by the shades in the BRs. We usually travel with disposable blackout curtains, but this condo had nice shades in the BRs to block out light.
One thing to be aware of is that there is a spiral staircase connecting the BRs on the lower level and the kitchen/living area upstairs. It made it a bit challenging carrying up a cooler and other supplies needed on the upper level. Our kids loved the novelty of the spiral staircase, but I could see it being an issue for folks with limited mobility or young children.
My only knock would be the WiFi...while it is present, it is terribly slow. With our children in virtual school because of COVID and my wife able to work remotely, we were hoping for them to be able to work from the condo. Fortunately, my daughter was able to hear audio but could not stream video from her school. My wife brought her MyFi from work and was able to augment her connection. Bottom line is that the WiFi signal is weak and I wouldn't expect to be able to stream video content.

COVID-19 Cancellation
Unfortunately, we had to cancel our stay due to the COVID-19 outbreak. So this review is not for the condo itself, rather for the property manager, Shari, and for the way these extreme and unprecedented circumstances were handled by her and by VRBO. We cancelled on the morning of our scheduled arrival date, which was just as all the COVID-19 shutdowns were beginning in our hometown as well and in Aspen. Despite the cancellation policy we agreed to when booking, Shari and VRBO ended up being extremely accommodating, waiving all fees and refunding us our money. I’m sure they would not have been so lenient with their policies had the circumstances not been so extreme, but we were grateful nonetheless that we got our money back.

Comfy and well-located
Great place two blocks from the base of Ajax and two blocks from the shuttles. Comfortable living area for families or groups and really nice touches in bedrooms and bathrooms such as humidifiers and moisturizers - very welcome in the dry mountain climate!

Aspen rental
The bedrooms were tiny - not even room for bedside tables and the acoustics of the property were terrible. You could hear everything from the master bedroom. The spiral staircase was very dangerous maybe even illegal.Aspe

Great place - Great location
We are a family of 6 who were in Aspen for the tail end of the Christmas holiday and were so happy with our decision to stay with Shari at 1 Fasching Haus. The place is beautiful and very comfortable for our family - comfortable bedding, rooms and baths were very nice, and the upstairs living space was perfect for family dinners and relaxing after a day on the slopes. Also enjoyed relaxing in the heated pool and hot tub a few steps from the unit. As others have mentioned, the location was the biggest value. Short walk to the Aspen bus terminus where there are buses available for trips to Buttermilk and Snowmass (5 min walk) or about the same distance to the base of the Aspen lift. The town of Aspen is right there - same 5-8 min walk will get you to many restaurants, bars, shops, and the local grocery store. I would highly recommend 7908 Aspen - fabulous food and great upscale dinning atmosphere. We look forward to making a return trip and will definitely book this place.

Perfect home from home
We stayed at 1 Fasching Haus for 10 days and felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The layout of the apartment was perfect and the decor so very warm and inviting. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything that we could have wanted in an apartment had been provided and more! The heated pool and hot tub in the courtyard was a terrific bonus and a very welcome place to ease aching legs at the end of a days skiing. It is a 5 minute walk to the bottom of Aspen Mountain and a 6 minute walk to the Bus Station from where the other three ski areas are accessed via the free bus service in the town. The apartment is in the heart of the town but in a very quiet location which couldn't have been bettered. Shari was a very helpful and supportive host who also saved us a small fortune on ski passes. We really couldn't have enjoyed our stay in Aspen any more and hope to return as soon as we can! Many thanks!!

Just Perfect!!!
This is the second property we've rented from Shari and each experience is better then the last. From the point of the reservation to checkout, every detail is covered and the properties have been beautifully appointed! Well stocked kitchen, additional towels at your disposal along with the proximity being the best Aspen has to offer! Don't hesitate, book it!!!

Best location in Aspen!
We were attending a wedding in Aspen and loved our location. It is within walking distance to everything, we walked just 3 blocks to see the 4th of July parade and restaurants and bars were within a couple of blocks. Would definitely stay here again, and the pool and hot tub were fabulous also!

Annual ski trip from Aus
Great Condo! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We have been coming to Aspen for 12 years and have stayed at many this has to be the best we have stayed at,
perfect position to everything at the same time in a Quite area and beautiful views of the mountain.
No stairs to climb at the end of the day's skiing Ground floor condo at the entry to the complex, beautiful pool and spa to relax in after skiing.
The internal of the Condo couldn't be better very warm and comfortable decor with everything u may ever need supplied.

Warm & Cozy
For 10 years I've been renting a different condo at Aspen. I always like to change it up. After staying here, I'm not going to look any further.
When my 2 friends & I walked into the Condo we were excited. It showed just like the pictures, it was on the first floor, it had a keypad on door (love that), pool & hot tub are a few steps away from our front entrance, kitchen & bathrooms were immaculate, short walk to everything including lift and my bed was so comfortable. Not to mention no noisy neighbors. My favorite was the beautiful lighting. Dimmers all around. Shari was quick to respond to my emails. And our stay was nothing but PERFECTION. Tx.

Perfect for a family vacation
My husband and I chose this condo for a family vacation with our two adult children. We had a delightful time! The condo had the perfect Aspen "mood". It was luxurious enough to feel special, yet retained the mountain charm one wants from ski lodging. The split plan afforded quiet and privacy to the sleeping quarters and had plenty of room for hanging out upstairs.
It's location was so convenient--only a short walk from the bus station and all the restaurants and shops downtown. But since the condo is at the base of the slopes it is off the main streets, so it was quiet and private.
The beds and pillows were comfortable and there was abundant space in all the bedrooms for clothing, including a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. All the rooms had humidifiers and there were extras as well--a great feature for those of us who come from humid climates. The laundry room was a godsend!
The kitchen was well appointed, but we needed to provide our own plastic wrap and plastic storage bags, as these consumables are not provided. Paper plates came in handy too for the microwave. (Owner provided paper towels and dishwasher/dishwashing soap. There were also filters for the coffee maker.)
The pool and hot tub were a welcome amenity at the end of a long, cold day on the slopes. The property caretaker was so helpful and friendly, bringing us towels with a smile and taking our used towels as well, even though I'm sure that wasn't part of his job.
What made this rental really special, though, was the property owner herself. She was so helpful and buttoned-up while we were planning our vacation and dealing with the rental details, and gracious and charming when we met her upon our departure.
I'm so glad we chose this rental for our vacation and we would definitely do so again. We would recommend it without hesitation to our friends as well!

Condo perfectly located
This was the 2nd time that we stayed in a condo owned by Shari. She is such a pleasure to work with. The place is right in the middle of town so no driving is necessary. The upstairs living/dining/kitchen area is very nice. It also has a very nice outdoor seating area. I would definitely recommend this property for 3 couples or a family with kids (but not really young kids due to the winding staircase).

We stayed here for a two week period at end of March. The location is perfect. It is two short blocks to the Ajax Gondola and walking distance to every restaurant/shop in town. The property is very well appointed, has a beautiful kitchen and three very nice bedrooms. Their is a shared heated pool/hot tub that we found very relaxing at the end of a long day skiing. We will definitely look to stay here again as it is just so perfectly situated.
