Still Light Pond is a beautiful place. The house is comfortable and well maintained, and the property is beautiful. Occidental is a very cute town with some great food. Lots to do in the surrounding areas. We had a great stay.

Beautiful property near Occidental. Me and my family enjoyed our stay. The day started with the sound of birds and view of huge trees from bed. The day ended with shooting stars in the hot tub. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

The photos are lovely; in person, the property is even better. Beautiful, peaceful, harmonious. Spacious, nicely landscaped grounds and well laid out and generously appointed home. Also a close drive to so many of our favorite places - Wildflour Bakery, Goatrock Beach, Willowcreek. So much to appreciate. One of the many highlights was simply waking up to the magnificent views out the master bedroom windows. Our family was so happy. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

We loved this property so much. The architectural character and detail of the house was delightful. Each room was cozy, spacious, and filled with light and beautiful views. The outdoor spaces were beautiful, and there was lots to explore. The location was really convenient - close the beach, Occidental, and Sebastopol.

This location is a perfect place to spread out. My family enjoyed the boat, hammock in the redwoods, hideaway of the tent cabin, hot tub, porch and deck, and beautiful and peaceful views from the whole house.

Beautiful home, beautifully decorated, clean, lots of light, well equipped kitchen, gorgeous modern master bedroom suite, great views of pond and redwoods.

We spent 10 glorious days at Still Light Pond. The house is warm and comfortable - the master bedroom is stunning! We enjoyed many hours reading on the deck and shade porch, walking the property, swimming, hot tubbing, and enjoying meals at the dining table. Occidental is a a great area for bicycling or taking a scenic drive. We were thrilled that the Occidental Farmer’s Market was open. Sue and John are wonderful and gracious hosts. We look forward to coming back.

Still Light Pond is a lovely and unique property. We enjoyed the remote location and all the charming features.

Charming house set on large lot. Lovely kitchen and modren master bedroom with lots of pillows and comfy places to lounge. Perfect for our long weekend in wine country. We didn't want to leave! The property owners are fantastic communicators and gave us lots of recommendations of places to go and things to do. All in all a perfect weekend.

This was our second visit to Still Light Pond and I wish I could live there. It is idyllic, beautifully imagined and designed, inspiring and peaceful. And fun. And--on my favorite road in my favorite part of Northern CA, and I'm a local. Very very special. We will come back again and again.

We had a little family reunion here for our little family.

Let me preface, in my 8 years of renting properties in this area, I have never written a poor review. I have 2 great danes and I am always grateful when owners are willing to share their home with such big dogs, John and Sue were very accommodating. The problems started when we came home the 3rd day of our stay and not 1, not 2 not 3, but 4 police cars pull up and ask us to enter the property. The dogs are going crazy, the police are saying 'put those dogs away immediately.' We have no idea what's happening. They proceed to tell us that the property owners called the police because there was a Uhaul on the property. Mind you, it was a 4x5 U-Haul trailer not attached to any vehicle that we brought so that we could bring bikes with us. We were traveling with 3 people, 2 huge dogs. We couldn't even fit our luggage in our SUV so we brought the small trailer. They're like 'all good. Sorry for the inconvenience.' I then check my phone and I missed a call from John 10 mins prior to the police arriving. That would lead me to believe that he placed a call to police prior to calling us. I call him back promptly explain the trailer is ours so we can bring bikes. He says why did we move their TV in the house. I said 'we didn't'. He said we turned on the cameras in the house. What?? That's not okay. We are 3 girls. I let him know the TV is ours. We brought it so we could have a movie night outside under the stars. We do it all the time. I wasn't very comfortable that he turned on the cameras in the house, but i let it go because he explained they had been robbed, not by guests mind you, but random bunglers that stole everything. Okay, so I let it go. We leave to go to the coast and while we are gone I get 2 more emails and a voicemail from Sue asking us about the trailer again. WTF. Are you kidding me? Now I'm upset. She said John couldn't hear me. He heard me just fine. This goes on and on. I let them know how uncomfortable I am with this line of questioning. We have done nothing wrong. Finally Sue sends me a message saying she is cancelling our reservation because she is worried we will take things from the house. Are you insane!? It has a refund attached. We are like good. You ruined our stay anyways. 2 weeks later, no refund. They reversed it and kept our money. They treated us like criminals and then never said 'sorry' we made a mistake. Then gave us a refund, and when we left reversed it. STAY AWAY! These people will spy on you.

Very well equipped and a lovely location central to many Sonoma sights.

Still Light Pond was everything we hoped for and more! We can’t wait to go back!

The home is beautiful but also comfortable, and the grounds provide a serene setting for a real getaway. We spent three nights with our two dogs and enjoyed every minute. We took our bikes to Sebastopol and biked for miles along the Joe Robota trail, stopping at the end for a nice dinner and some cider just after the Gravenstein apple festival. The town of Occidental is absolutely adorable too and we really enjoyed wandering the area. The home was perfect for our combination of ambitious biking and chilling with our dogs!

Loved it!

Our family of four fell in love with this property. It felt like a private retreat center, with the pond, trails, and lovely hammock in the redwoods. The interior of the house is so beautiful - a cottage style design, with windows everywhere, with wonderful details. The house had everything we needed and more. We had fantastic weather- perfect temperature and a sky full of stars every night.... and the hosts and property caretakers were exceptionally warm and welcoming, letting us drop our food and bags off even before the property had been cleaned (as it was a same day turn around). We didn’t want to leave and will definitely try to find our way back again!

Beautiful home and property. Kids loved the pond and rowing boat. We did lots of swimming. Love that the property was fenced so our dog was safe. We were supposed to explore more of the surrounding area but we loved the property so much that we spent most of our time there. Very relaxing and tranquil. Few minutes from Occidental with great market for supplies. Very pretty town.

We loved our stay at Still Light Pond. The cabin is well outfitted, the grounds are stunning, and our kids had endless joy rowing around on the pond. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I recently spent a few days at this wonderful property with another couple. Wine tasting, redwood visits, and sightseeing by the ocean during the day. Back to the house at night to make dinner in the beautiful kitchen and drink our purchases for the day , ending the evening in the hottub. Fabulous advice from Paul the caretaker! Great communication with the owners! We can't wait to go back. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Amazing property that I have recommended to friends.

This place is perfect. The house is cozy, yet spacious. I wouldn't ask for anything more or change a thing. The beautiful country setting is just a mile from the town of Occidental, which is also a little gem. We gazed at stars, drank a ton of wine and woke up to breathtaking views from the master bedroom. I am so glad that we stayed and am already planning my next retreat back to this lovely home!

I absolutely loved this house. The architecture and decor were incredible. I got to watch the woodpeckers store their nuts in the tree outside the bedroom window. The property was fun to explore. Plus, Sue and John were very nice and accommodating. Would love to go back!!
