Our family had a wonderful 2 week stay! The house and property are just stunning! My husband and I stayed there with our two teenagers, we lived outside enjoying the pool and beautiful views! The location is perfect, within walking distance to amazing restaurants - our favourites were El Nene, Mextcalli, El Cafecito and Rincon de los Almendros. We loved being able to walk to Playa Carrizalillo as well. My husband and son took surfing lessons that they arranged on the main street from Oasis Surf and Spanish School - the prices were better there than on the beach. We had a car and shopped at the Chedraui and the Mercado Benito Juarez. We spent time at the surrounding beaches, Playa Zicatela watching the surfers and also enjoying beach time at Playa Coral and Bacocho. We also went on the bioluminescence tour through eco adventures - which was such an awesome and unique experience! Our hosts John and Lilly were so welcoming and helpful - they answered all of our questions and were always available when we needed them! We loved it there and plan on coming back again!

The house is amazing and very spacious . I’m not a morning person, but this house and view made every morning so worth it ! Many restaurant choices around the area . John is very responsive and helpful .
I would say , the only con is paying separately for the AC/minisplit unit (is coin machine operated and every coin is worth $100 pesos ) We spent around $3600 pesos extra just for AC in 7 days.

We fell in love with this home. It is spectacular!!! It is an easy walk to the beach and nearby restaurants. We enjoyed incredible meals at Almoraduz & Espadin. We also had El Cafecito for lunch and breakfast pastries. I would HIGHLY recommend this home.

We have visited Puerto Escondido many times, but this was by far our best trip due to this amazing villa! The home is breathtaking and the views are incredible. It is in a quiet, private neighborhood but also within walking distance to beaches, restaurants, shopping, tiendas. John was wonderful to welcome us and make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The beautiful, private pool was amazing after a day at the beach. The home is sparkling clean and very well maintained. We can't wait to come back to Puerto and would not stay anywhere else after experiencing this villa!

Beautiful house, with a beautiful view of Carrizalillo Beach. We felt very at home here, all the needed essentials are provided, the indoor and outdoor furnishings are comfortable and well placed. The location is perfect, short walk to restaurants, cafes, shops and the beach or a short taxi ride to the other beaches like Zicatela where there are many bars, restaurants and shops. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. The pool is beautiful and the whole family enjoyed it! We were 6 adults and 3 teens, we had pleanty of space.

Perfect location for exploring PE
The house, pool, and location met all of our expectations and then some. Not only is the house beautiful and comfortable, the walkability to beaches and nearby restaurants and shops makes for a stress free visit to the area. From early morning runs on Playa Bacocho to surfing at Carrizalillo and dinners on the Rinconada there was something for the whole family!

Classy Mexican Home on the cliff close to everything
We would return in a heart beat. We were a family of four adults and the home easily handles many more so we all had private space. The pool is clean and well kept as are the gardens and home. John the owner was attentive and friendly, the views and garden so gorgeous. Thanks John

Beautiful Villa & Location
Beautiful property in a lovely part of Puerto Escondio overlooking one of their best beaches. The villa was extremely spacious, clean, with everything you need. The check in was easy with the staff always attending every need and very accommodating. My friends and I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect spot for a big group
We had the BEST time. As a group of 11, we felt that we had plenty of space to spread out. With the palapa, we were never on top of one and other. In fact, the space exceeded our expectations for space! Making meals for 11 was easy in the kitchen- so many tools and place settings for 11+ people. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you John!!

Nosotros fuimos un grupo de 9 el espacio nos quedó perfecto y volveríamos a ir. Cerca quedan restaurantes, tours, renta de motos, bicicletas, el super en taxi está a unos 4 minutos todo accesible.

Simply Amazing
What an amazing experience. The house is exactly as advertised and John couldn’t be a better host. This was our first trip to Puerto Escondido but it won’t be our last. While we enjoyed just sitting by the pool and looking at the beautiful views, the town was also a blast. Great food and the people we friendly and accommodating. We have had a few issues with short term rentals in the past so I had some apprehension but not this property. It exceeded our expectations. Thanks John. We will be back.

Incredible stay in Puerto Escondido
When we first entered the villa it was unreal how beautiful everything was. The view of the playa is incredible, the villa itself is stunning and the backyard is magic. John is a super host, he answered fast and was always happy to help us with everything. We couldn't ask for more and we would gladly recommend this stay to anybody. The closest beach is about 5 minutes walk, it is a bit far from the main town (45 minutes walk) but there is a lot of cheap taxi and some great restaurants around.

Amazing Place!
Eight of us had the best family vacation here for 10 days in February, no one wanted to leave.The house is spacious, clean and perfectly set up with amazing views and a great pool. Typically, we go to all inclusive resorts and this was our first time renting a house and fending for ourselves in a different country. We were curious as to how we would like this type of vacation and it far exceeded our expectations!
There are two beaches close by, the one you can see from the property, about a 5 min walk away and another one which is about 10 min walk. The second one we would go down to in the mornings and walk the length of it, beautiful sand, crashing waves and hardly anyone around.
We had intended to cook a few of our meals but with so many different restaurants such a short walk away we ended up eating all of our dinners out. The meals at these places while inexpensive, were great, so much flavour! You don't need a vehicle here, we did walk a lot but as it does get quite hot we took quite a few taxis which were so inexpensive and very easy to find.
John was great right from the first email, I was impressed with how quickly he responded every time to any questions or concerns we had. John also helped us organise transportation to and from the airport which was greatly appreciated. We have recommended this place to friends and will definitely go back!

Fantastic! Perhaps the best property in Puerto Escondido
Villa Vista Hermosa is a beautiful home that you will absolutely love. We had an amazing stay in Puerto Escondido and I would not want to stay anywhere other than this property if, and when, we return.
The house is very spacious, affording everyone ample space to stretch out, relax, and enjoy the amazing views and scenery. The yard is impeccably landscaped and the pools are sparkling blue and well-cared for. The house staff, (housekeeper, gardener, pool service) were very personable and friendly, always willing to chat but otherwise went about their business tending to the property. (Frederico the gardener is there every weekday morning cleaning the yard and the housekeeper and pool man are there M,W,F for part of the day.) We couldn't have been happier with the service.
John and his wife were gracious hosts, always available to answer questions about the community and local attractions. We were very pleased with their hospitality. Their dogs GiGi and Lua like to wander onto the grounds whenever they are around, ( if you want them to,) but if you don't John will make sure they don't bother you.
Overall, we could not be happier with our stay and look forward to returning to this lovely property. We highly recommend it.

A piece of paradise!
Wow what an amazing time we had. I can't say enough about the house, we were a large group of (8 adults and 4 kids). We used the main house and it was even better than we imagined...so much better than the pictures! The four bedrooms are all very large, indoor area as well as outdoor areas were so spacious and the absolute best part was the view. The ocean was right below us and pool area was so relaxing. The kids loved the pool as did the adults but the beach is right below so the option of both was just so convenient. Close to restaurants and bar everything is at your doorstep. We definitely hope to return, thank you John and Lily (who were so helpful and accommandating)...your home truly was a piece of paradise.

This house is awesome
I love this house. The pool, the view, the location; it's all perfect. There's not much reason to leave, everything you need is there. Including the great little beach at Carrizalillo just a 5 min walk away. The hammocks and charcoal grill are a great touch too, and got a lot of use. John and Lily are great hosts.
I will come back as often as I can.

Amazing house with spectacular view.
This was our first trip to Puerto Escondido and we were very happy that we chose Villa Vista Hemosa. We rented the main house and there was more than enough room for all five of us to spread out and not feel crowded. The house and grounds are just as nice if not better than they are in the pictures. Sitting under the bougainvillea watching whales and dolphins swim by was not a bad way to spend the day. The rinconada and beach are an easy walk from the house and there are several excellent restaurants on the rinconada.

Nous avons séjourné à la villa en janvier 2017 et je dois dire que tout était parfait. Les lieux étaient propres et entretenus régulièrement. Les propriétaires sont disponibles pour répondre à nos questions et nous aider au besoin. Les lieux sont très sécuritaires. La villa est spacieuse et bien adaptée pour recevoir un grand groupe comme le nôtre La vue sur la baie est splendide et que dire de la superbe piscine ! Je m'ennuie déjà... Fanatstic home exceeds all expectations
Where to begin?! Our stay at the wonderful Villa Vista Hermosa far exceeded all my expectations. Pictures of this tranquil home perched high on a cliff, with its breathtaking ocean view, really can’t do it justice. John thought of everything when designing his home, from the beautifully tiled en suite bathrooms to the multiple large gathering spaces to the outdoor fans over the hammocks for when the temperatures rose. The view over Playa Carrizalillo and the Pacific Ocean is majestic, and the walk to the beach takes a little over 5 minutes. (The city stairs down to Playa Carrizalillo are a bit steep to walk back up but sturdy and built into the hillside, and we were all happy to have a little extra exercise). The beach has a relaxed vibe and is safe for swimming, but some days we found it hard to leave our own pool. Did I mention how gorgeous the grounds and flowers were at the Villa Vista Hermosa? The gardener (I’m sorry; I can’t remember his name but he was so nice) keeps the varied blooms and foliage in beautiful condition, and the housekeeper Christina could not have been more gracious. The home, pool and gardens were all impeccably maintained and kept.
We rented both the downstairs portion of the home as well as the upstairs palapa. There were multiple friends joining my husband and I to celebrate our birthdays, and it was perfect for our group’s needs. We enjoyed and used both areas; the downstairs was great to lounge in the hammocks after we swam and to gather for the meals we ate at home in the well-appointed kitchen. The upstairs was lovely for enjoying ocean breezes and the cooling dipping pool at night.
John was very welcoming and always available to answer all our questions. He kindly gave us a tour of PE when we arrived with recommendations of places to visit, which gave us a good overview of the different neighborhoods and playas. John’s wife Lilly set up massages on-site for us as our Spanish needs a lot of work. Receiving a massage while listening to the ocean was pretty fantastic! Cabs were always easy to find a few blocks from the house, and usually under $2.00 US to anywhere in town.
John is very kind and laid back; a perfect concierge. We can’t say enough about our wonderful vacation at the Villa Vista Hermosa except that we will return! One last recommendation- if you have the chance to help the turtle rescue release baby turtles into the ocean, I highly recommend this near-magical experience.

Puerto Escondito
My Aspen Colorado Family (many friends going to a destination wedding) just spent a week at Villa Vista Hermosa. After a long travel we arrived at this beautiful home. We were greeted by John, his fiancée Lily and their dog Max. They opened their home to us with open arms. John walked us threw the house explaining all we needed to know. This large 4 bedroom with 4 on suite bath accommodated all parties involved including privacy that was desired. The large living space both indoor and out was ample for large parties. The grounds of the property were impeccably maintained by a wonderful man named Frederico, who on day two opened fresh coconuts for our party. (Which were much needed) Cristina our housekeeper who as well was very friendly. Her presence was there but not know. John offered us his personally car for rent which we used. (oops don't misplace the key!!) Bringing us to the pool. Probably the best view in Carrizalillo. Unlimited views of the ocean for hours. The outside shower was one on my favorite parts. Nico (the pool guy) did an amazing job at keeping the pool clean and clear after a few late night fiestas. This villa is perfectly located in a quaint little town. Walking to the beach or the main street for a wonderful meal it has all to offer and more. With much love from Colorado we thank you!!

Amazing luxury house with everything you might need
Our family spent the month of January in Puerto Escondido and could unfortunately only enjoy four nights at Vista Hermosa before moving to another house. The house is awesome with everything you might need for a perfect vacation. The kitchen and open area to the living room is simply huge. We really enjoyed that the house was in one level and had huge windows with fantastic views.
Kitchen was extremely well equipped and even had a dishwasher. Very unusual in Mexico. The fridge with easy access to "good" water and and ice maker was appreciated in the hot weather.
We were only four people staying in the house but could easily have been 12. The four bedrooms are simply huge with tons of closet space if needed. If the upstairs apartment is used then 15 people is no problem. During our stay we did not use the air condition and found the ceiling fans to be perfect during the nights.
Most of the time was spent on the outside terrass which has easy access though the huge sliding windows. The pool is huge and the kids were doing laps all day long. Views are magical with nice views of the ocean and Playa Carizalillo.
We know this area from before and prefer it instead of Zicatela. Within a few minutes you have some of the best restaurants in Puerto Escondido. Great food and very economical. Some good places:
El Nene - Try the Rajas tacos or anything on the menu. Also nice drinks.
Sushi - Right next for to El Nene is a such place which is fantastic. It's run by a Japanese couple who go fishing every morning for fresh ingrediants. The Mexican food is of course fantastic but since we are spending two months each year here it's nice with a change in flavour every now and then
Cafecito - They have everything , including nice bread. I personally love the Mole
Paris Bistro - Great food, love the outside garden. Top notch service and nice atmosphere
Las Cazuelas - Not a fancy place but it you love Posole this is your place. Mostly visited by Mexicans which is a good sign. The Poole is fantastic and very affordable.
If you head down to Zicatela it's 30 Pesos for a taxi. Try La Olita or Spirulina, great choices.
Safety can be an issue in Mexico but not in Puerto Escondido. We still found it nice to have Max the dog in our front yard and also someone living in the little casita in the front yard. Always there if you have questions. The house is also surrounded the high walls. We hope to be back next year!!
