We had a fabulous vacation!
Owners communicated well and the property/home was immaculate. The house is bigger than the pictures show and we were pleasantly surprised. It was so nice to arrive at a well maintained and well stocked home. It is obvious they take care of their home and want guests to have everything they need. The trip from the airport was 35 minutes and the house is easy to find.
The home is in a quiet, safe area, and still close to shopping, groceries, and restaurants.
The lake setting is peaceful and relaxing. The pool is an added bonus and so nice at the end of a long day.
This is the perfect location to experience theme parks, beaches, and all Orlando has to offer. Or you could just come and enjoy some family time. Fish, swim, take walks, and unplug.
If you have to work a little the house has high speed wifi and a designated office area.
We did a family stay this time, but the house setup would work for 2 couples or a girls' trip.
We loved our stay and will certainly visit again!

It was a beautiful quiet and peaceful location. We were greeted by our host and shown the property. We felt very welcomed. If we didn't have activities planned we would have been ok to just stay at the home and relax. We would love to stay there on our next visit to Florida.

Our stay at this house was very comfortable and relaxing and is located in a quiet neighbourhood. The house was exceptionally clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the beds and furniture were comfortable. The pool area was inviting and had many floating devices and the lanai was nice if you wanted shade . A short stroll to the lake was a bonus as we took advantage of the beauty of the sunsets. Just as important to our kids, the wifi was great. We enjoyed the airboats 25 minutes away and stopped for a walk on the boardwalk of the Orlando Wetlands on our way back to the house. It is located less than an hour to Cocoa Beach and 30 minutes from the outlet mall. There is plenty to do in the area if you wish. Communication with Patricia and Steve was easy with quick response. They asked for written suggestions on how our stay could have been better but there was nothing negative to say...this place is 5+ stars

Our stay at Sunset Retreat...was indeed a wonderful retreat...private yet close to town, serene with nice pond, nice pool and hot tub. The layout of the house was efficient and in great working order. Host Patricia has made an informative 3 ring binder guide for the property, sightseeing, restaurants etc. and I referenced it numerous times. We and our 3 teenage sons very much enjoyed our stay. Wifi was good for teenagers. The best compliment I can give our hosts and property is that we would easily come back if we vacation in Florida again. Thanks for a memorable vacation.

My husband and I spent a wonderful relaxing two weeks at Sunset Retreat. The house lives up to its name with beautiful sunsets viewed from the dock, and the perfect retreat to relax in with everything one could need. We walked into the home and felt a sense of spaciousness and peace and were very impressed with how spotlessly clean the home was. I'd like to thank the housekeeper for such a great job! The kitchen is nice and airy with everything one would need to cook although we mainly used the bbq to cook meals. Patricia and Steve left a basket of wine and goodies to welcome us which was such a lovely gesture. They are very gracious hosts and were available to answer any questions or assistance. We loved sitting outside in the patio and the heated pool was perfect to cool off during the hot days we had. The back yard is large with trees and shrubs and you can take a stroll on the path from there to the dock to sit and relax or take a canoe ride around the lake. There is nothing we lacked in the home and it did feel like "home". Its situated in a quiet area yet only a 3 minute drive to the grocery store. We took trips to NASA, the Arnold Palmer Tournament in Orlando, air boat rides, and Blue Springs State Park and all were within an easy 20 to 60 minute drive from the home. We would definitely love to come back to stay but this time I think we need to come for longer!!

Perfect house with all amenities you could ask for. This was the best vacation house we have ever had. Close to attractions like Kennedy Space Center and Disney. Fishing and/or just relaxing at the lake was the best and very relaxing. Recommend this vacation home 100% for anyone that wants to relax and still see the sights. We traveled with our 17 year old twins and they loved it as much as we did.

Good fishing. We caught and released our fish. Caught one walking cat fish and those should be destroyed. We released before we knew it was an invasive species. The fish feeder works great.

Home sweet home
As a native Floridian, Sunset Retreat was just what we needed to remind us of the beauty of Florida! Named approximately because the evening sky’s do not disappoint! We live in Texas now and it was so nice to enjoy the evenings fishing at the dock, canoeing and soaking in the hot tub after busy days out exploring. The tropical and spacious setting of the backyard leading down to the water is beautiful. The home was fully equal with absolutely everything and very clean! It took about 30 minutes to the things we wanted to visit in Orlando and 40-50 minutes to the east coast beaches. Tucked nicely away for you to enjoy some serenity at the end of each day. We spent 10 glorious days and would highly recommend! Thank you for providing me with a place to reminisce of my childhood and life living in central Florida.

Me and 2 teenagers had a great time. We enjoyed the property, pool, canoeing, and fishing off the dock. There was plenty of room and the host was friendly and available for any questions we had. Great value and we had a great stay!

Excellent Get-Away
Patricia is a fantastic host! The property was super clean, there were many extras included, check-in was very personal and concise. The pool was amazing the lake views were awesome. The area is very nice, we felt super safe, and it felt private and was so quiet. I highly recommend and would absolutely stay again!

We were visiting family in the area and had such a great experience at Sunset Retreat! The house was spacious and clean, the pool area and dock relaxing, and the hosts responsive and accommodating! Patricia and Steve made us feel like the property was truly our home away from home for the week. Already want to book our next stay!

Best vacation rental I’ve ever stayed in
From the check in day, throughout the stay, and the check out process—everything was perfect. The property is absolutely gorgeous! Watching the sunset at the lake from the private dock was our favorite. The pool and spa were clean and wonderful for a relaxing vacation. The host Patricia answered all of our questions promptly and keeps an immaculate home. Would absolutely 100 percent recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful vacation retreat.

Absolutely perfect!
This property meets everyone’s desires for a family vacation! We loved fishing in canoes in the lake right before sunset. This property definitely lived up to its name “sunset retreat” there were gorgeous! House was very clean and the home owners were just a call or text away with any questions. Wonderful people! I would highly recommend this rental and if we are back in the area I’d love to rent this again!

Everything we hoped for and then some
We were looking for a location away from the hustle of typical spring breakers and somewhere quiet and low key with activities to do at the rental. This place completely delivered! The area is quiet and serene. The house is nestled back on a dead end street. The pool and spa were an added bonus. The house sits on a 65acre lake has amazing views with gorgeous views and breathtaking sunsets. Days were perfect to take the provided canoe out and paddle around. The kids (young teens) were occupied lizard hunting on the daily. We loved we were able to take our dog with us who is part of the family (he thoroughly enjoyed the lake!). The property was impressively clean and provided all the necessities. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

The house at this property was very nice. However, there were a few more rules than we cared for. We questioned something and rather than answering our question we were told to refer to the red book. Overall it was a nice house but we would not go back.

Wonderful family vacation!
We LOVED every minute we spent at Sunset Retreat! We were looking for a different experience than going to the gulf side of Florida and we found it! My avid fishermen - husband and son - were in heaven having the dock on the lake and the fishing gear supplied worked great! The sunsets were beautiful as well!
The time spent in the pool and spa were priceless, it's exactly what our kids love to do. Having a big yard to play football and badminton in, along with a pool, spa and lake is a RARE find.
Patricia was extremely responsive and able to accommodate our times to turn on and off the spa! She gave us a walking tour of the property on our first morning and even happily dealt with our inquisitive children asking ALL the questions!
It was a quick drive from the Sanford airport and not a bad drive down to Disney for the day we spent there.
Everything we needed was truly available to us at this home away from home. We couldn't have asked for a better getaway than at Sunset Retreat!

Very Impressed
The house and amenities all exceeded our expectations but our hosts, Patricia and Steve surpassed all of that. My wife and I stayed at Sunset Retreat for a week in January and even though it was a bit chilly we found lots to do and especially enjoyed fishing and catching dinner right off the dock. The location couldn't have been better, lots of great restaurants and things to do - a very extensive notebook with suggestions was provided. Highly recommended!

Relaxing getaway for our family!
Our family really enjoyed our stay at Sunset Retreat...we were in town for a sports event at the Bombah Sports Complex, and it was the perfect location if you want to avoid hotels and stay somewhere more private. It was also a very easy to drive to Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral for day trips. The house itself was perfect for our family of 5- plenty of space (yet feels cozy!), very clean, everything you could possibly need. Communication with the owners was fantastic, Patricia is so lovely and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. The property itself is stunning, I'd come back again just to see another lake sunset. We truly enjoyed our stay, the only thing we would have wanted to change was the weather...if it was a few degrees warmer we could have used that awesome pool a bit more, but hey, that's January in Florida for you!

Amazing Christmas vacation
Our family of 4 and labrador retriever spent 10 glorious days at this property over Christmas, our daughter's birthday, and New Years, and it was absolutely everything we needed! The owners are super friendly, responsive, considerate and hospitable which made the stress of travelling easier. The house is very well equipped, pool is outstanding, and the dock/lake are a relaxing bonus. The house is conveniently located between Orlando to the west and the Atlantic beaches to the east. The weather was simply gorgeous. The only problem is that our 10 days went too fast! Thank you, Steve and Patricia, for a great time and we will not hesitate to book with you again when our travels take us near Chuluota. I highly recommend this vacation house.

Fishing getaway near UCF
We loved this clean, comfortable home! We rented this home as a way to visit our daughter going to UCF, outside, socially distanced. The screened in patio has a lot of high quality furniture perfect for outdoor dinners. It's clear there is a lot of thought that has gone into this home. It's filled with thoughtful little extras like trial sized personal items of everything you might have forgotten, masks, hand sanitizers, cleaning products, and they even put up a Christmas tree, and other holiday decor. We felt so welcome! My husband and kids caught bass, catfish, and other fish from the dock. The kitchen had the most pans, baking items, appliances, etc of any kitchen we've rented. It's better than the pictures and the hosts were always available to answer questions. We will definitely stay here again!

Memorable Thanksgiving
The Sunset Retreat is a beautiful and spacious property. The dock in the back has the most amazing lake view, and the sunsets will take your breath away. The kitchen is completely equipped, with details that allowed us to host Thanksgiving to a large family with the same amenities we are used to at home. Soft towels, comfortable beds, cotton sheets made the experience truly memorable, a rarity in places that take pets. Expect an in-person check-in, and the use of the hot-tub requires coordination with the owner. The owners live next door, responds to texts within seconds, and will never impose on your privacy. We love this place and highly recommend it.

Sunset Retreat- A Perfect Find!
I booked Sunset Retreat as it was close to my Niece who lives in Orlando. My brother/wife and nephew/wife were in from Idaho visiting her. My husband and I brought my (80-year-old) parents over from Pensacola so the family could all have time together. This home could not have been more perfect. It served as a spot where we all could be together and not be cramped or forced to spend our days together at a park or restaurant. We were able to cook meals, hang out around the pool and/or lake, and have ample time together. Patricia and Steve were excellent at communicating with me before, during (when needed), and after our stay. She made sure to make us feel welcome (nice gift basket upon arrival) and thought of every detail to ensure we were comfortable during our stay. They even allowed us to make a last-minute change to include our 4-legged child when we found out that our pet sitter was not available to watch him while we were gone. The week could not have turned out any better. We will certainly book this house again for our next family visit to Orlando!

Nice clean house!
The house was very clean and well kept. I am very particular with cleanliness and this house couldn’t have been more clean! Great location and very cosy. My kids loved the lake to fish and pool.

Home away from home
This property was amazing. The owners are outstanding and we loved every part of it. The atmosphere there is peaceful and feels like home. Everything was kept up very nicely and we didn't need for anything. They literally think of everything and the communication with them was awesome. This is worth it all the way around.

Lovely time at Sunset Retreat
Our family stayed at the Sunset Retreat for our second time this past week. The property is located in a great location - convenient to the theme parks and also to the beach. The lake view is amazing (sunsets are beautiful), the pool is fun (provides hours of entertainment for our family), and the house is so clean and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed several nearby restaurants- including Tijuana Flats, Bernies, and Cafe Panuzzo, as well as ice cream from the Twistee Twirl. Thank you for another wonderful stay. We will be back!

A Home Away From Home
We stayed at Sunset Retreat for 2 months while our home was being renovated. It could not have been a better place to stay. We live in a large community not far away. We had no idea such a secluded, private retreat existed so close to home. My friends were worried we would not want to come back. Not only is it private and peaceful, but there is the lake to canoe on and fish from. My favorite was the beautiful sunsets. The house itself is very clean and has everything you could possibly need during your stay. The hosts could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. I highly recommend Sunset Retreat! My son is already asking when we can go back and stay.

Great view, awesome house
House is very comfortable and the backyard area is incredible. Watching the sunset sitting on the deck in front of the lake or fishing was very relaxing. Great memories from this amazing trip.

This was our first VRBO experience and the bar was set very high with this place!!
The Sunset Retreat is an amazing find! Being our first time using VRBO we were a bit nervous. But from the moment we pulled in the driveway we were taken away with the beauty! We wanted a relaxing family vacation-opting to forgo Disney, the beaches, Universal, etc. This place delivered! Our 4 kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub! As well fishing from the dock, canoeing, and biking! At the end of each day we enjoyed the comfort of the living room playing board games! Steve and Patricia were amazing to work with and have thought of everything! The house is fully stocked with anything you could need during your stay! When leaving we asked our 4 kids ages from 8-14 if they missed the typical Florida attractions and they all replied “absolutely not!” We are already planning a trip for next year!! We unfortunately only booked it for 4 nights, which we all agreed was too short!! We WILL be back and for longer next time!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing, serene getaway with breathtaking views!

Great Home / Amazing Location
We were completely blown away by this property. The pictures don't do it justice. When we arrived, we were greeted with fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, snacks and a card. This was a nice touch and set our vacation off on the right foot! At the house, there was plenty of space (and then some) for the four of us (my husband and I and our two teenagers). The property is in a perfect location - just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city but only a short ride to get to any of the local attractions. The lake behind the house was peaceful and a great relaxing place to drop a line for some fishing or just to watch the sunset in the evening. We spent an entire day at the house - forgoing the beach or any other attractions, to rest, relax by the pool and BBQ. This by far was one of my favorite days of our vacation. I have saved this property to my favorites, as we are already talking about returning - we enjoyed it that much. The owners are right next door and are very friendly and helpful but they also give you your space and privacy for your stay - it really was the perfect balance. Patricia was prompt and quick to answer any questions via text. This house is a great place to rest after a day at the beach or any local attraction. Highly recommend to families looking to make some terrific memories.

COVID Spring Break
We had a great time watching birds, squirrels and lizards. Also while feeding the fish, a catfish would come for a visit daily and the kids enjoyed that. We spent plenty of time in the pool and hot tub. For us, we were looking for a place with enough to do to keep kids busy and so that parents could relax. Orlando was easy to get to as well as other places to eat and Publix. The owners were great, easy to work with and contact. They even were kind enough to leave snacks, wine and flowers. We’d stay there again!
