I recently stayed at a charming lake house in Green Lake, WI, with my 14-year-old son while we attended the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. Our experience was fantastic! Working with Mary, the host, was a pleasure—she was incredibly helpful and responsive. The house itself was adorable and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the peaceful location and the beautiful lake views. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area.

Great little place for a getaway for a small town vibe with great golf and small town experience. Property is as described. Very well decorated and gives a small cottage feel that is very comfortable. Easy check in. Relaxing atmosphere. The town is very walkable and has good food options. People in town come from all over for vacation. Lots of Illinois folks. The people that work and live in green lake full time are very friendly.

Close to downtown Green Lake. Comfortable and everything a couple needs.

This was a nice large Studio Apartment converted from a 3 car garage. It was beautifully decorated all new appliances. Came with everything needed. Fyi, the bedroom has a 3/4 in wall separating the living room so it was not in closed. Perfect for a couple. Like the previous review, the outside curtains covering the front blow around and don't stay closed. Bring some clips.
It would be better to have some inside. Walking distance into town with shops and restaurants.
The host Mary was so nice and responded quickly. Be careful of the key code, WIFI and address instructions from VRBO.
I had to call Mary to confirm. all in all we had a great time

My husband and I wanted a quiet little getaway and this was the perfect spot! Close to town and marina but nestled in a quiet area. Best of both worlds.
We loved our stay

My wife and I loved this converted garage space. It's a one bedroom with a small kitchen, but the layout makes it feel bigger. We usually go for 2 BR places, but had no issues with room spending a week here. All appliances are in great condition and the convenience of the location is unbeatable. We chatted briefly with the property manager and her assistant and both could not have been friendlier. A fantastic stay!

Took a chance and was impressed with what looked to be a unique, clean, compact and modern property with pier / lake access. Was pleseantly surprised at how big and modern this converted double depth, 3 car garage was! Outside of outdoor curtains that wouldnt stay closed due to wind, and rain on Monday...this was an almost perfect getaway :-). Only other blip was unpredictable wi-fi setup. Although, we werent there to watch tv...so, wasnt big deal for us. Bed was comfortable, kitchen was stocked with all necessities including modern appliances and decor was stylish and fitting. Bathroom was pretty nice, functional. Neat added feature was the heated fan. Only blip is the showerhead. Functional, but, may need to be cleaned out for better flow. Overall this was a very neat, clean, unique and functional property. Mary was very responsive and we felt she would always be able to respond quickly, thank you! We will definitely recommend this property and will absolutely consider a future stay at this gem, the lilly pad on Green Lake.

Adorable place! Walking distance to downtown. Neighborhood was quiet. We had everything that we needed.
Storm came thru in the evening while we were there. So the power went out. I would recommend having flashlights or candles for guest. I would also recommend weights on outside curtains so they dont blow around or having some in the inside.

Everything about this place is great! Mary was super helpful and sweet and fun, her attention to detail is amazing, location is perfect. For couples and small families, I highly recommend this spot if you plan to be in Green Lake. If we make our way back would definitely stay again.

This is a beautifully remodeled garage. The bedroom is not fully a "room," but is separated from the living area by one wall and open on one wall, so not private, which I did not expect from the listing. We made it work with five adults; it would be better for a couple or a couple with a couple kids. The kitchen was great, very functional and nice. The dock was fine; we did not realize from the listing that it is a short walk away. It wasn't super easy to launch a kayak from the rocks/mud (but I made it work) and isn't a great place to swim. But if you just looking for a cute, comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay super close to activities in town, I think this is a great choice and a good value. I would rent it again under those circumstances. The owner/host was very pleasant to work with and very accommodating and responsive.

We enjoyed our stay in Green Lake. We loved fishing from the pier, listening to frogs, watching the sunset and looking at the stars. Quiet simple place that had all we needed.

We were looking for a nice little space to stay while in Green Lake for a boat reunion. This rental ended up being absolutely perfect! A private dock for our boat, steps away from shops and restaurants (yet, situated on a quiet street) and a small, converted garage that was larger than we expected, clean and cute— we found the perfect place for us! Mary was great and so is her place.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was spotless and so much of the interior was new and tastefully designed. Perfect for two! Downtown was easily within walking distance. A nice patio out front. The garage doors with windows kept the space bright and cheery. The owner was extremely responsive when we had a small problem, and sent her handyman over immediately to fix it. The only negative was it was over 90 degrees the day we arrived, and the space had been shut down, and the air conditioner had a hard time catching up. Otherwise a lovely stay!

Quaint house in great neighborhood, within very short walk of downtown. Decorated and furnished very nicely. I do recommend a handyman/woman spending a few hours tightening screws, leveling tables, unclogging drains (perhaps that’s already on the docket), but all in all, we were very happy with this property. They really made the most out of the space... lots of options for sleeping. We would stay again. Thank you for the home away from home!

Great place on the lake for a family weekend
Our family rented Aunt Edna’s cottage for a long weekend. There were 10 of us ranging from 6 to 68 and everyone commented that this cottage worked great for us. While it is an older cottage it has been kept up well. The location on Green Lake within 2 blocks of downtown made it very convenient. Restaurants, coffee shops and a nearby park are just a few minutes from the cottage. If our family decides to come to Green Lake in the future, we would definitely book this unit if available.

Family vacation
This property accommodated our families well. The space worked really well for us. It was an awesome location with the ability to walk to downtown. And plenty of parking.. the kitchen could have been better stocked with pans an utensils since we were cooking for a large group. Also we had a difficult time getting the pontoon boat we had rented to our dock since the water was high and we had to go under the bridge, even though this boat was supposed to “work” for this property, I wished I had rented s better boat and kept it at the marina instead of enduring the hassle of trying to get boat to fit under bridge.

This was our second time at Aunt Edna’s Cottage and we now hope to make it an annual trip. The accommodations were wonderful and the location is great. Looking forward to next year.

Cute House in a Great Location!
Our family stayed here for 3 nights. The house is cute and comfortable. We rented a pontoon boat from Action Marina, which was within walking distance of the house. We could walk to stores, restaurants, a coffee shop and had plenty of space to hang out together. I highly recommend this property for a large group or family event!

Great property and location
I loved sitting on the back deck drinking coffee and looking at the pier and lake and watching squirrels and bunnies and listening to birds. It's a quick walk to the marina, where we rented a pontoon boat both days. The house was wonderful for our family of 5!

Aunt Edna's is a keeper on Green Lake!!
So many great things to say about Aunt Edna's cottage! First, Mary the owner is incredibly accommodating and kind. Her communication is fantastic (which is a HUGE plus)! This cottage is decorated with super cute lake decor and makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The bedrooms are spacious, with closet and drawer space galore. There is one and a half bathrooms on the main floor, with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, eat-in area, formal living space and a great back porch that looks out onto the water. There is a deck with two patio tables & umbrellas. The basement has two large bedrooms and a very nice, newer full bathroom. You could realistically fit 15 people in this house if you pull out one of the couches in the basement and use the other couch downstairs for sleeping. There is a single bed on the back porch, as well. Personally, we would have enjoyed having another couch on the back porch, rather than a twin bed. The formal living room does have a TV, but the furniture is more formal/decorative and the gathering space isn't very comfortable, despite how fabulous it looks! We spent all our time at the house on the back porch, so removing the twin bed and having another more comfortable couch out there would have been perfect for us. We didn't cook any meals in the house other than breakfast food and sandwiches for lunch. There are plenty of coffee cups, a regular coffee maker, keurig, but with a large group of 10, we went through the silverware and coffee cups that were in the cabinets quickly and had to wash them daily. There were plenty of towels for everyone and there were more in the closet at the end of the hallway, that we didn't know about until we were leaving. The washer and dryer downstairs are newer, so bring detergent and dryer sheets if you want to wash swimsuits and towels. The large backyard was wonderful for us to play our bags game and make a fire. There is parking for cars in the driveway and down behind the house, and the garage opens up for another area of gathering and a ping pong table. Be careful when you park on the street-we got a ticket because our car was parked facing the wrong direction (dead end).
The only reason we did not give this house 5 stars is because it is not in an area for swimming, the dock is very old and the area around it was so overcome with seaweed, that it was a challenge to park our jet ski and climb on it safely without there being any stairs.

Perfect location to enjoy the lake and town or just hang out and relax
What a great property and an excellent location! Our family of 11 had a wonderful time here. The house is very well appointed with everything we needed. Enough beds for everyone, plenty of space to hang out, big yard and dock for fishing and launching the kayaks. We were able to walk into town to enjoy the little shops, the Farmer's Market and rented a pontoon from the marina. The table was big enough for us to all fit around to eat and play games, the back deck was also wonderful for sitting on for visiting, having morning coffee or watching dad grill our meals! The property is located on the mill pond and access to the lake is near if you can make it under the bridge, you could pick up at the pier, we had a pontoon with an upper deck, so that was not possible for us, we just walked to the marina. We loved kayaking around the pond and enjoying the quiet and the wildlife. Yard is perfect size for playing bags or ladder ball, we brought ours along. Nice fire pit with local camp fire wood easy to find near by. The boys loved having the ping pong table and made good use of that. Not great for fishing off the pier, but the kids gave it a good try! Mostly just little perch but they had fun. Swimming off the pier is possible, but not appetizing, it's just too weedy and mucky. However, access to the lake is just 2 blocks away. When I say kids, ours range from 27 to 13, and 4 significant others, so this place has plenty of space for 10 adults! Loved the fact that we had plenty of bathrooms! Beautifully decorated, plenty of towels, beds are comfortable, very clean and well organized house. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The owner is wonderful and close by if you need her for anything, very responsive, even called to see if we were doing well and needed anything. If the purchase of our own property doesn't go through, we will definitely rent here again in the future!

Everything you need!
We had a long weekend at aunt Edna's. We had a wedding at the Heidl house and thought with all the family coming in town for it we would rent a house in Green Lake. The place was perfect. Decorated so well. Had the charm of the 50's or 60's but all the updates you need. The kitchen and bathrooms were great. One site told me it had a bath and a half and an other said 2 1/2. We were very please to find two updated full baths plus the half right in front. Was worried about wedding morning and only one shower. The two worked out well.
Would rate this a 5 star but the lake frontage wasn't great for swimming. Not a big deal though because we rented a boat and swam in the big lake. The few kids we had would have like to jump in off the pier but it was a little weedy.
Would define steely come back. Some family who didn't stay with us but came by to see it said they would like it as well.
Thanks Mary!

Aunt Edna's Cottage
If you don't have an Aunt Edna, this is the next best thing. Relaxing, fun and just the best way to get away. This is a boating, not swimming lake, but there is plenty to do. Or relax in a lovely, up to date cottage and read a book. Any way you take it, I expect you to have a great time. We did!
