Ce chalet historique a été récemment mis à jour avec de nouveaux appareils et accessoires de cuisine et de salle de bain, des téléviseurs LED, une connexion Wi-Fi et une terrasse agrandie. Son très moderne et idéalement situé au cœur de la broche Homer qui vous met à quelques pas (littéralement) des boutiques uniques, des restaurants les mieux notés, des vues magnifiques sur les glaciers, des chartes de pêche de classe mondiale, des plages de sable parfaites pour le mariage et tout ce qui fait Homer incroyable. N'oubliez pas de garder vos caméras prêtes pour la faune. Les loutres, les otaries, les aigles et même quelques baleines semblent de temps en temps poser. Des bateaux qui passent aux vues du coucher de soleil volcanique, ce chalet offre tout.
Notre cabine a des entrées extérieures séparées (uniquement) pour le haut et le bas de la cabine. Cela permet également de louer la cabine en série si vous n'avez pas besoin d'accueillir 7 personnes.

Our place was amazing! We were right on the ocean and once I shipped my husband and my son to their fishing hole I could go grab a glass of wine and appetizer right next-door. We will be back!

Great/unique location right over the water! The waves crashing under you lull you into a deep sleep; woke up to otters floating out back! Well-appointed unit with everything you could need for a stay on the Spit. (Highly recommend the restaurant next door “Fresh Catch” terrific food and excellent service.)
I was traveling with my husband, and three adult sons- plenty of room for everyone and their gear. We would absolutely stay at, and recommend, Wheelhouse.

We’re still talking about our one-night stay here as being a highlight of our Alaskan fishing adventure! It’s such a unique place and was perfect for the four of us (2 downstairs and 2 upstairs). For such a small place, it amazed me at how the owners had thought of and included everything you need! And when our charter was canceled last minute the next morning, the owners gave suggestions on who to talk to for alternative plans, and we ended up having a wonderful day on the Spit. Don’t hesitate to book this place!

Such a fun place for kids. I’m surprised we were able to get them to leave. I’m sure this will be the rental that is the measurement of all other rentals in their travels. None will compare to being right on the beach. If the opportunity arises we will definitely stay here again. I don’t know how the owners can change the wording of how the property is laid out to make it more clear about the two areas being separate but I’d suggest they do that.

We were a group of 6 friends that stayed that stayed for one night of our 1600 mile road trip around Alaska. This is such a unique little stay right on the Homer spit! The cabin was so cute! It was very clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The views are spectacular and the ocean is literally right outside your door! - we’ve never stayed closer! We would definitely recommend!

This property is amazing! The downstairs is super cute and the kitchen has all you’d need. The upstairs was perfect for 2 older teens to have their own space. Everything on the spit is easy walking distance. Loved it!

Best spot on the spit! Fell asleep to sound of waves and sat on back deck watching otters swim by. Central to all restaurants and charters. Attention to detail and cleanliness of home along with location was perfect! Owner goes out of their way to ensure you have everything you need.

Our family of 5 adults and infant grandson enjoyed two nights at the Wheelhouse. Owners have anticipated visitors’ needs in every way and make themselves available, if needed. I grabbed the wrong set of keys and got locked out. Even though Konna was traveling, she made the necessary calls to get us squared away. Location on the spit is excellent! We’re in Homer nearly every year and will definitely make the Wheelhouse a return stay!

We loved staying right on the Homer Spit. The upstairs deck has such an incredible view of Kachemak Bay and the mountains. We loved sitting up there playing cribbage and drinking wine. All of the necessities were provided. It would be nice if the upstairs room could así have a double bed so two couples can be more comfortable. But we made it work! Being out on the Spit was amazing. Thanks for having such a great place from which we could enjoy Homer!

This property is in a great location! Oceanside with great views, near the fishing charter pick-ups, shopping, and restaurants. Even in walking distance to the Salty Dog Saloon. The inside is small as advertised but comfortably slept 6 friends with the bonus upstairs apartment. I will definitely be looking to rent this place again for my next visit to Homer!

Loved this place! Lots of character with a sea theme from the decorations to the setting with its views. Very comfortable. We had five people and it worked well for us. Super convenient location.

Fit the reason we stayed in Homer, a fishing trip. Plenty of restaurants and shops with just about every souvenir you would want from Alaska. Homer Fished Adventures the Black Pearl with Captain Forest Luking was great!
The host of The Wheelhouse answered questions promptly and were very helpful.

This cabin exceeded our expectations and was perfect for our family (2 adults, 2 teens). There is definitely room for a couple more! The upstairs access is separate from the downstairs but we felt safe and comfortable with our teens being there… and of course, they LOVED it. You can’t get any closer to the beautiful rocky beach in Homer.

This was a very unique place to stay in Homer. A bit noisy with the cafe next door, but not bad after it closed. Very nicely decorated and overall very comfortable. Upstairs was very quiet and had nice room darkening shades as it never really gets dark in AK in the summer. It was a little weird getting used to going outside to access the upstairs, but thats perfect if you have older kids or another couple. Would definitley stay again!!! Saw a big cluster of sea otters in the bay!!

Great view of the water from the boardwalk. Nice food and shops right next door. Walks on the beach included. Fun nautical theme to the room. A bit quirky as you have to walk outside stairway to get to the bedroom and shower that is upstairs. Downstairs has bed, shower and kitchen.

This property was absolutely gorgeous. The kids had a wonderful time playing on the beach and checking out all of the shops. The candy store was probably their favorite 😁. The beds were comfy, the space was cozy and for the location it was surprisingly quiet. The owners are excellent communicators and you can tell that they put a lot of thought and love into the property. Thanks for a great time with family!

The Wheelhouse is Awesome! Location on the Spit is perfect. The property is functional and fun. The owners have great communication. My family and I loved the two separate units and will definitely stay here again when we are back in Homer!

Hosts were as helpful as needed. They provided code to enter and information, but asked if we would like to be met in person.
1. LOCATION: Food all around (tacos, fish, ice cream and donuts within feet of the door). Back deck over the ocean and we saw otters, birds and amazing mountains. QUIET! I was astounded that it wasn’t loud, but at night the shops / restaurants close so it is quiet.
2. INSIDE: Downstairs is cozy and slept 3 fine (fabulous trundle). We could all eat around the kitchen table with the stools. Upstairs is lovely with three beds and bathroom. Perfect for my mother so she could have a space to hang out before my teens woke up in the morning.
3. DECK: view is amazing with chairs and tables. Loved the upper deck as you could get sun!
4. PARKING: didn’t have trouble at all finding a spot.
5. WALKING: Perfect for walking towards the end of the spit or towards town. So much beach to enjoy.
6. SWING: under the pier are the swings! So much fun at high tide.

We LOVED staying right in the center of the action on the Homer Spit! So clean and comfy, my family of 7 (2 parents and 5 adult/teen children) thoroughly enjoyed the view out the back door - right on the water with the tide rising and falling before our eyes. Gorgeous long sunsets!! Walking distance to everything: dock ramps for excursion to kachamsk bay SP, tide pool exploration behind pier 1 theater, literally steps from delicious restaurants. Place has all amenities you need. Host provided great advice on things to see/do in Homer. Cannot say enough great things about the Wheelhouse! Will definitely stay here again if I’m ever lucky enough to return to Alaska!!

We absolutely loved the location on the spit and on the boardwalk. We were able to walk to everything and had a beautiful view right on the water. It was great that our (young adult and teenage) children had their own space up above. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Our family of four stayed at The Wheelhouse in late summer and absolutely loved our experience! The cottage is the cutest and in the perfect location - enjoyed being so close to the water, shopping, dining, and fishing. The view from the back porch and upper deck is stunning. We still reminisce about sitting outside watching the sunrise & sunset and walking along the shore that you can easily access. A nearby restaurant employee said that boardwalk was the best one on the Spit and we agree, lol, but think the whole area in and around Homer is amazing as well.
Konna is a wonderful host and keeps the cottage super clean, well stocked, and communicated all the details perfectly. We’d definitely stay there again if we’re lucky enough to go back.

Such a cool place to stay. Even with the long summer days of sunlight we never wanted to close the windows because of the natural beauty outside. The tide coming in and out alone was worth the experience. We stayed for a week and only moved our car once (and that was to go check out some of the views from in town and to experience the towns 4th of July parade. Otherwise, everything you need is walkable. Great place, great hosts, great experiences.

We had a wonderful time, it was close to the boat and nice to come back and have a grill to cook some fresh caught fish! Konna was great with communication and the wheelhouse was a fun place to stay!

We like to spend the night in Homer before going out to fish at 6am for halibut. This location is directly across the street from the harbor making it easy to walk out and get on the boat. The house was very comfortable and clean. We will stay here again. The host was amazing as well.
