De grandes fenêtres pour la lumière naturelle de diffuser dans, système de chauffage au gaz propane avec un ventilateur de plafond. Grande salle de bain avec douche et baignoire; l'accès à ce qui est à la fois la chambre principale ou salon. Les appareils modernes et ustensiles de cuisine dans la cuisine; beaucoup de comptoir et les ustensiles de cuisine avec lequel pour créer une fête, ou une collation. Sous-sol complet avec laveuse et sécheuse. Projeté dans le porche à l'extrémité ouest de la maison (accès par salon), meublée avec des chaises se prélasser en bois, face au port, à 90 pieds du bord de l'eau; une courte promenade à travers magnifiquement noueux moussue épinette, et vous aurez 340 pieds de façade de l'eau pour en profiter. What a wonderful stay we had at this property. All the amenities are pitch perfect for us and the location and area are what we always look for in a vacation home. It is a short drive to hiking, kayaking, as well as groceries. The screened porch makes any weather tolerable. We find complete relaxation here. You will not be disappointed.

We had a great stay at the Magees’ cabin on Bar Island. Dennis called after we arrived to make sure we were settling in okay. Their cabin is so comfortable- kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals, screen porch was great for relaxing any time. Lots of personal touches made it very welcoming. We enjoyed visiting the rocks and watching the tides, seagulls, shore birds and lobster boats, and walking on the island road. We visited local towns and businesses (recommend Ray’s Meat Market, Chipman’s Wharf, the Knotty Lobster, Robertson’s Sea Tours), and Schoodic Point. The Magees provide lots of suggestions for things to see and do. Great value, so glad we found this one!

We feel as if the photos do not capture how amazing this place is! Beautiful, relaxing location. Tons of crabs in the tide pools for the kids to find. All of the necessities and a well equipped kitchen. Away from the hustle and bustle of Acadia NP, while still capturing what Maine is about! We ate lobster every day we were there, and enjoyed being in the small town of Milbridge. Hosts were great, and communicated with us and answered any questions we had.

This property is in a great location. We went north and found things to do. It’s only an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia. We did quite a bit of hiking and it was close. Loved the Petit Manan hike. Bed was very comfortable and it was quiet and peaceful.

Felt like being welcomed home. Beautiful property. Beautiful home. The Magees were very pleasant to talk to and readily available if needed, though they have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. Such a relaxing place to be and we were truly blessed to have the opportunity. We spent most of our time down by the water watching the many different birds, crabs, seals, dolphins, red squirrels (quite the little characters) and deer as well as the boats coming and going and the neighbors digging for clams during low tide. Also thoroughly enjoyed reading Dennis' autobiography!

If you are looking for a property that gives you peace, solitude, quiet and keeps you in touch with the natural world and the beauty that is Maine, THEN STAY HERE! We had a wonderful week of kayaking, hiking, Bar Harboring, and spending time with friends in the area, but our favorite part of the vacation was sitting on the screened-in porch and watching the boats navigate the bay and various animals and birds share the yard with us. The cabin is great, all wood, with full amenities including cable tv, microwave, full stove and oven, etc., and a king-size bed on the main floor. You can see most everything else from the listing, but most important is the mood this cabin gives off...peacefulness. Thank you to the Magee's for a great stay and hope to be there again soon!

Peaceful retreat.
The Magee’s cottage was such a slice of heaven! It feels like they have opened their home to you. They offered many helpful local suggestions. My favorite place was the screened porch to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect location for us to enjoy things both north and south of the cabin. It was our first trip to Maine and hopefully not our last!

Amazing cabin !!!
The cabin was amazing, great location, very quiet, had everything needed, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, blankets, just name it. Good communication with the host, very friendly, even gave us a 12 page ideas for thing to do in the area. We did most of them, great places to see and hike. Thank you Dennis so much for the wonderful experience.

Enjoyed the place but due to pain issues we could not get comfortable with the living room furniture , however the bed was good and the house lacked for nothing in the kitchen.

Beautiful property!
So many good things here, like the screened porch and the morning light filtering through the woods; eagles and seals; a dip in the chilly waters during a hot spell felt special (Note: it is a bit seaweedy, and "dipping" is dependent on the tide). Great hiking and exploring nearby, but coming back to Dennis and Helen's place was always a highlight. Our only critique is that there are a LOT of personal effects and items: photos, dishes, religious items (framed verse, Bible etc). No real place to put one's groceries for the week other than on the countertop, nor personal items in the bedroom (which could use more light as well). But that's all an easy fix, and I think we're just accustomed to spare and depersonalized rental spaces. We also SO appreciate there being a charcoal grill -- propane seems to be preferred at many homestays. Thank you for our lovely getaway -- we really enjoyed it!

The location is great if you want somewhere away from it all. It's very peaceful - exactly what I had hoped for - yet close enough to Bar Harbor/Acadia and other sights we wanted to see. The cottage itself is very cute. I would rent again.

The cabin was very beautiful with all the wood. Very cozy. We loved the screened porch. Its unfortunate that the wood stove placement protruded so far into the living room. And the bathroom needed cleaning . But all in all we did enjoy our stay.

Beautiful Cabin in Excellent Location
Beautiful, well-maintained, clean log cabin in excellent Downeast location (on quiet Bar Island, Milbridge) on quiet beautiful bay. Very near to Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge and its trails, and the trails up Pigeon Hill with its views. Easy day trips as far as Bar Harbor in one direction, Lubec in the other. Helpful, friendly hosts. Highly recommend.

Deer and Sunsets!
We loved this property! It is a hidden gem! It is a hidden cabin on the water. We saw several deer, a porcupine, rabbits and blue herons! It was a photographers delight. Not to mention Acaidia. The house has a well equipped kitchen for the the cooks. The porch was our favorite place to sit in the evening after lobster and hiking! If your looking to get away from it all with basic amenities to take the complication out of your life, this is your place!

A peaceful spot
A shady and peaceful respite by a rocky shore...what could be better! We grilled and enjoyed having our dinner on the mossy “patio.” We rented a canoe and set sail right from the back yard. The property was close to many wonderful trails and destinations...Wonderland and the Park Loop being personal favorites. The house was clean and lovely. What more can be said, we had a lovely time and hope to return again!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The place was very clean and there were ample dishes, pots, and pans. The location is somewhat remote, but that was perfect. The view of the bay is picturesque and constantly changing. An excellent place to recharge the batteries.

First off, Dennis and Helen were wonderful! Always willing to answer questions and they made everything so easy from start to finish. This was just the place we have been looking for - tranquil, comfortable, and a home base for exploring the area - including Acadia. The cabin had everything you could possibly need and was extremely comfortable. The water, the rocks, and the sunsets were beautiful. And we couldn’t get over how quiet it was on the island. My favorite part of the cabin was the screened in porch. A great place to relax and connect with family and nature. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay here for a week the last week of August. It is truly a beautiful setting with the water visible from the cabin. Many days the only sounds were sea birds and the hum of lobster boats coming and going from the harbor. The cabin is extremely well stocked with everything right down to tea bags. It's cozy and warm but enjoys a nice sea breeze. The cabin is up-to-date with modern appliances including TV, DVD and CD players. The grounds have two fire pits and a hammock which sports a view of the harbor. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would like to return in the future.

We had a fantastic time. The home is beautifully landscaped and the home is perfectly outfitted and comfortable, it has all the comforts of home . The homeowners are fantastic to talk with and very easy to reach in needed. This is a hidden gem of a vacation place. Highly recommend!!!!

A beautiful, peaceful cottage with thoughtful owners!
This cottage is beautiful, inside and out! The views of the bay are stunning, especially at sunset. The owners were thoughtful and kind from the moment we initially booked the cottage until the day we left. The cottage was stocked with everything we could have possibly needed for the week, including linens and towels. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with dishes, utensils, glasses, mugs, you name it! We especially enjoyed the cast iron skillet each morning as we fried up our bacon! We enjoyed reading on the screened porch each morning while we listened to the distant hum of lobster boats. Our daughter enjoyed relaxing on the hammock near the water. The beds were really comfortable and the Magee's provided a fan to ensure a restful night's sleep. There were good books to read and fun games to play too! It really felt as if we were "at home" there. This cottage is about an hour from Acadia, which is where we spent most of our time. It was the perfect location for us as we were close to the action but away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. There are plenty of good places to grab a meal near the cottage and beautiful trails to hike within 10 minutes. I could go on and on about how fabulous this place is. We will be back next summer for sure if the Magee's will have us. This was our best and most peaceful vacation to date! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful place with us!
