Voyager Rest est idéalement situé pour profiter de l'incroyable beauté de la magnifique et sauvage Virginie occidentale! Il est situé sur un terrain privé de plus de 7 acres, dans la réserve faunique nationale de la vallée de Canaan; spécifiquement au sein de la communauté de villégiature fermée Old Timberline. L'intérieur de Voyager Rest est superbement fini avec des antiquités et des objets de collection du monde entier. C'est vraiment unique en son genre. Il comprend une grande cheminée à bois en pierre, des poutres en chêne, du parquet ancien en bois dur et en ardoise, des douches en pierre et des comptoirs en granit équipés d'éviers en cuivre faits à la main. Deux kayaks sont à la disposition des invités; un à chaque lac (s'il vous plaît voir orientation).
La réserve faunique nationale de la vallée de Canaan était la 500 e réserve faunique nationale à être établie aux États-Unis. Le refuge préserve une vallée humide avec des zones humides et des hautes terres uniques à une altitude relativement élevée dans les montagnes Allegheny.

My kids and I had the most relaxing and best time at this beautiful property! The house is so private and located in a beautiful neighborhood with spectacular views! It's filled with treasures from all over the world and is very unique. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking many trails, fishing, exploring Davis and Thomas and a day boating on Deep Creek Lake. Would highly recommend! My kids said it was the best vacation ever!

Timberline is a beautiful site for Voyager Rest. Jim built a lovely home decorated with interesting exotic pieces from around the world. You can tell instantly how well the home is maintained. The sunrises are spectacular and the sunsets will take your breath away. We would love to come back.

Amazing cabin with incredibly eclectic decor from the owner’s trips overseas. The cabin is super secluded even though it is within a gated community of cabins and vacation homes. You just don’t see or really even hear anyone else. It is truly like being alone in the woods.
We spent the week hiking and canoeing and just relaxing and it was a great stay.
Very much looking forward to a return trip.

Voyager Rest is a spectacular way to enjoy Timberline WV.
The house is spacious (if you can work with 3 BRs), clean, well-designed, well-equipped (hot tub!), exceptionally well-decorated from the owner's trips to exotic places, and has nice views of the valley below.

This place is a gem. Amazing location, wonderful house with so much character. Everything was perfect. We didn’t wanna leave the house even though we had come in a trip to visit the sights around which there are so many that are so close. We decided to make this a yearly tradition at least or if possible even more frequent.

The experience starts with the breathtaking view as you navigate down the driveway to this beautiful, rustic, private cabin nestled in the woods! Upon entering, you are immediately taken on world travels tastefully displayed throughout this clean home! The attention to detail is evident from the beautiful wood floors, to the the fully stocked gourmet kitchen, amazing stone showers, meticulous linens, travel reading material, games and so much more! Watching nature from the deck with coffee in hand and soaking in the hot tub after a long day of hiking were pure bliss! It's apparently the home owner's heart and soul have been poured into this wonderful place and he prides himself in making sure his visitors have the perfect experience! It will leave you wanting more! Don't miss out!

This rental home far exceeded any other place I have stayed with VRBO. The home is filled with antiques, varied cultural items from the owner's world travels, well appointed features throughout the home and a restful, peaceful atmosphere throughout. The location is perfect--lots of privacy, beautiful views of both the valley and the mountains and great seating to see wildlife, sunsets and nature. The owner was prompt to answer questions and stay in communication. Overall this home is a 5 star rating and will not disappoint!

We loved this place so much we came back for a second trip! Although this trip was a bit shorter, we enjoyed reconnecting with this home’s charm and historic treasures!! Jim is truly one of a kind and clearly cares about his guest’s experience within this amazing cabin.

This trip was amazing! We honestly could have just stayed at the cabin the whole time there was so much to see and enjoy. It felt like we traveled the world just being in the cabin with all the unique decor. The hot tub was perfect and super clean. The stone double shower was like nothing we have ever seen. The fire place was so relaxing and cozy and had plenty of wood to keep it going. Jim gave some amazing recommendations for black water falls and Seneca rock hiking. Our dogs had a blast hiking there and on the property. The beds and linens were immaculate. It was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. All the appliances were top notch from the kitchen to the laundry. The views from the deck were spectacular. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Worth every penny!

I rented Voyager Rest along with a group of family and friends, some of which have been traveling to the Canaan Valley for 20+ years. I myself have visited a good many times over the past decade. Voyager Rest is hands down one of the best cabins you can rent in all of the valley. The places itself is amazing and perfectly curated, and the views are amazing.
As if the cabin wasn’t already fantastic enough, the host, Jim, was genuinely the nicest and most attentive host I’ve come across. My group ran into some last-minute logistical issues the day before check-in, so I messaged Jim to ask about an early check-in. He called me within minutes to tell me that we could check in as early as we like, and also provided some info about the property and the amazing sound system in the cabin. Jim then proceeded to call me one or two more times to tell me about a few other things with the cabin, and also told us we could check out as late as we wished because no one was renting it the day we left. Start to finish, an all-around amazing experience. Already planning a return trip!

We had a great stay at Voyager Rest, the kids and adults were fascinated by the decor, it’s a cozy space and a great launch pad for Timberline skiing. Hot tub was a ton of fun after a day of skiing. Highly recommend!

Overall our stay was awesome. Tons of wildlife to see and the house in the woods was the perfect location for us. The hot tub at night was super fun. The house is filled with fun objects and history filled antiques. The only downfall was the check in process which was no fault to Vrbo or the host. It was simply the employees of the check-in gate did not want to help or seem to care that the guests before us wrote the wrong check out date on their paper and would not let us past. Jim and his son were awesome and quickly got it resolved and we enjoyed our weekend. Would definitely go back and stay again! Thanks Jim

My family enjoyed a long weekend at Voyager Rest. Although the weather was mostly rain, we enjoyed hanging out at the house, watching movies, sitting in hot tub and taking long walks. The house had all the amenities we needed to cook meals and make ourselves comfortable. And you could look at the travel souvenirs for days and not see them all. A very enjoyable time!

The beautiful, comfortable home with the stunning views are memories we cherish. The property is secluded and quiet. The working fireplace and hot tub was immensely enjoyed by all family members. The state of the art appliances made cooking so enjoyable. The host Jim, was extraordinarily easy to contact and dealt with having the driveway plowed the same day we called. We loved Voyager Rest. So many interesting items and thought-provoking artifacts from around the world and different time periods. We arrived in a significant snowfall, which only added to the experience and natural beauty of the property.

We had a great couple of days at Voyageur's Rest. The location was fabulous, with beautiful views of the valley and mountains and just minutes from the entrance to Timberline Mountain. The house was as described in the posting, with a great kitchen, comfortable living area, and an outdoor grill. The space was even bigger than we anticipated, with plenty of rooms and bathrooms. We spent a pleasant few hours in the hot tub enjoying the warmth and the view, and the myriad and varied decorations from all over the world made for a great game of "I spy".

For a quiet time away from everything, this is a good place. It would be helpful to know where the nearest pharmacy and/or grocery is - for more than convenience store choices. Davis seemed too far to backtrack, but I thought I'd remembered other options available during previous stays. Challenging road - 4W Drive only - during snowy periods... but that's adventure!

Voyager Rest is a fantastic place to stay at. It has a rustic look that is breath taking. the inside is rustic looking and has so many unique cultural displays on the walls from so many countries and time periods you are just mesmerized by it.
The view from the balcony is astonishing, we saw deer, turkeys, and coyotes. The birds we saw and photograph was unreal and breath taking. Davis is a fantastic town to visit the shops and people are so friendly they make you feel like you have been apart of the community. We were greatly appreciative to the owner at Voyager Rest for his help and his wonderful hospitality highly recommend this VRBO to anyone and you will have awesome experience

When searching for a place to accommodate our family we were looking for location & something especially unique in charm. Firstly, James (our property manager) was great at communication. We felt welcomed before we even arrived. 2ndly, the scenery as we arrived was so lovely we took time to take that in before we even stepped inside. But with walking through the entrance we were immediately taken back and continued taking every step within one foot at a time. The images do not to this place justice! Wow . . . is an understatement. We immediately felt like we'd arrived into a world all in of it's own. Everything you might need (besides personal toiletries) is provided! So much for the senses to take in from every seat you might be sitting in! Cozy, comfy, calming, not to mention the collection of life this charming place has to offer. It's located perfectly to all site seeing you might want to do. Cooking, reading, movie viewing, gaming, dining, hiking, hot tub soaking, breathtaking scenery & wildlife viewing! Every nook & cranny is jam packed with insight & inspiration for the senses! We enjoyed visiting some of the galleries & eateries in Thomas & Davis & Canaan Valley. We spent time on Canaan Loop Rd, Blackwater Falls, Pendleton Point & Dolly Sods. Even took Big Tuna kayak for a paddle on the Sand Run Lake. Discovering this new home away from home has been added to our favorite experiences of 2023 and we intend to revisit as soon as we can! Thank you once again James ♥

We really enjoyed our time at Voyager Rest. The cabin was just as we expected. Beautifully decorated and had everything you would need for a restful stay in the mountains. The view was just gorgeous!!! Would definitely come back for a future stay. Jim was great as well. Checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and got back to us quickly if we had any questions. Saw lots of deer and even turkeys. Was waiting to see a bear, but, that didn’t happen, lol.

My wife and I can’t say enough about this beautiful place! We had an absolutely perfect weekend there celebrating her birthday and relaxing in nature’s beauty! We loved all the decorations, amazing kitchen, copper sinks, natural stone showers, back patio and deck overlooking the Allegheny mountains and Canaan Valley. So many things to do, including Blackwater Falls and Dolly Sods. Next time we visit we’ll use the kayaks and hot tub. We enjoyed using the propane grill and fire pit. A thunderstorm on our last night was so amazing and beautiful with the thunder echoing between the mountains and across the valley and lightning lighting up sections of the sky like a quilt pattern, it left us speechless. Any time we plan another trip in this area, we would love to stay here again! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
