Venez faire de notre maison, votre maison pour les vacances en famille les plus fabuleuses jamais! Profitez des levers et des couchers de soleil les plus sereins sur le canal à la sortie de votre fenêtre et de vos ponts. Détendez-vous en emmenant les enfants pêcher, clamming, ou crabe directement sur votre porte arrière sur votre propre ponton, nouvellement construit, privé. Attachez votre bateau ou lancez facilement un kayak ou une planche de SUP (non fourni mais peut être loué sur place) depuis le quai avec un rebord abaissé ou détendez-vous sur l'un des spacieux ponts trouvés à chaque niveau et regardez le poisson sauter ou une chute de pélican pour une bouchée à manger.
Notre maison a été récemment rénové vers la fin de 2017. Il a 2 chambres à coucher principales chacune avec un lit queen et une salle de bains de quatre pièces avec des doubles puits et une baignoire de jardin à jets. Il y a deux chambres supplémentaires avec une salle de bain complète Jack-and-Jill entre les deux chambres. On a 2 paires de lits superposés (4 couchages) et l'autre chambre a un lit simple sur un grand lit (pyramide, peut dormir 3). Vous trouverez toutes les chambres spacieuses et fraîchement décorées avec un décor de maison de plage familier. Il y a aussi une toute nouvelle douche extérieure avec vestiaire pour votre confort. La salle de jeux, située en bas, dispose d'un mini-frigo et d'un wet-bar pour votre plaisir avec une table pour faire des puzzles ou jouer aux cartes. La cuisine a tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour profiter de délicieux repas. Tout le monde peut s'asseoir ensemble, comme la table à manger peut accueillir 12. Il y a aussi un bar avec 4 sièges. Un gril à charbon de bois extérieur, pour votre usage, est fourni au niveau du sol. Il y a aussi 2 demi-bains (un de la grande salle, à l'étage et l'autre hors de la salle de jeux, au niveau inférieur). La climatisation centrale et / ou la chaleur sont également présentes pour vous garder au frais ou au chaud. Il y a aussi une laveuse et une sécheuse pour votre commodité.

The property and home was well kept and clean. Except for forks, the kitchen was well supplied. The home was as we remembered from 17 years ago.

Good location. Allowed early check-in. Arrival gift pack was nice - bottle of wine and some necessities. I booked for 12 people and we had 2 extra rolls of toilet paper provided... when most of the current rolls were about empty. No extra trash bags. Only about 6 forks were there.
Hot tub did not work on arrival. Took 3 days to get it partially working. It was not in English, so we couldnt understand the menus. Jets and lights worked for 1 night (15 minutes) and then couldn't get them to work again.
A couple cockroaches... not terrible.
The 2nd floor master bath had some black spots so those staying in that room weren't comfortable using the jetted tub.
Disappointed for the cost we paid for the week since we chose this place primarily for the hot tub against a cheaper place with similar space/location that provided other amentities.

This was our second year in a row staying at Flounderin’ Around. It is truly amazing! We love the location, sunrise and sunset views and being on the water. Thanks for another week of making memories with the family!

We enjoyed crabbing off the dock. The house is not far from plenty of public access spots to the beach and sound side. Kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance we could need. The waffle maker was a hit with the kids. Our group appreciated the huge dining room table where we could all sit and eat together. The housekeeping could use some work as we found candy wrappers between the bed and the wall when we were putting sheets on the beds and a couple of roaches. Over all it was a good house for the price for our group and we would stay here again.

Overall, this house is great! It was spacious and had plenty of beds and areas to just hangout. We went on a fishing trip with 6 guys and it was perfect. The a/c worked great! The only small issues we had were a few dead cockroaches sitting around, not enough toilet paper, a broken deck chair, and some trash under a couple of the beds. We would not only book this house for another fishing trip, but we would feel confident bringing our families too!

We had an awesome time at the house. It fit our family perfectly and couldn't ask for more. The house looked just like the listing. The hot tub was nice to get into to unwind after our days out with all the kids. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

We have been lucky enough to stay at this property a handful of times. The owners are incredibly responsive. The house itself is in a great location, quiet neighborhood. All around great place!

Overall our stay was great. The house was clean with the exception of the air fryer and oven. The location was great, loved being on the water! Close to Buxton beach. The owners were nice to work with, very friendly and quick to respond. It was our anniversary and they left us a bottle of wine with a nice note. Super hosts! Now for the not so good. We had no freezer the entire time. It kept freezing shut. We contacted the owners and they said to unplug it for a while. After unplugging it for the third time, we just went out and bought ice for our cooler. This was a major inconvenience for us given we had frozen meat brought from home and we couldn’t get popsicles or ice cream…bummer. The linens provided weren’t great but we brought our own anticipating that. We didn’t use the hot tub because it was way over chlorinated and burned our noses when we lifted the lid, seriously we were coughing it was so bad. The house should have never been rented without a freezer imho. The cleaning company and hot tub company should be addressed by the owners. In any event we did enjoy or stay.

Let me start with the positives. The location is great. Neighbourhood feels safe. The house is next to a canal which provides awesome views from all the floors. Shops are nearby. Owner/Manager is responsive
Now the not so good part. I saw 2 cockroaches in the 1st floor on day 1. Thankfully we were not sleeping on that floor. All the floors were squeaky. On our first night, there was a storm (not very serious kind). But inside the house, everything was shaking like an earthquake. The seals of the balcony doors were gone. So it was so noisy to sleep. Almost all the furnitures are like 15 years old. The sofa has all the dirt of the world. The floors felt sticky throughout. All the outside lights do not work. So you have to have a torch, phone light to navigate outside stairs, as its pitch dark otherwise. I don't know who does this kind of maintenance. In the listing, it said it has a grill. Turns out that its a charcoal grill stand on the outside (just like parks).
And did I say, we have to buy all the toiletries? I mean even the hand soaps are not provided. I am not looking for any fancy shampoo or body wash. But atleast the basic toiletries is expected. Even garbage bags were not there to use. We had to buy every damn thing for a two night stay. Bottomline is, bring everything in your trunk. Coz other than linens, NOTHING ELSE IS PROVIDED.

Perfect place for a peaceful vacation. Brought our boat which was so nice to use the dock. Couch and outdoor chairs need some refurbishing but otherwise this was very well kept place.

After a long drive we were super excited to arrive to our vacation rental. We were greeted with trash cans on the curb, the steps/decking leading up to the front door are warping. Peeling paint and rusted light at the front door. Entering the home we smelled a musty smell right away. The carpet was not clean. Dust piled on the ceiling fan. Dust on vents and in the hvac room. We loved the location and the views from every window. We were so very disappointed. We have never had an issue with a VRBO Rental. Every home previously were very well maintained. We reached out to VRBO within an hour of arriving. They asked us to contact the Host directly which we did. Host said they would call the cleaning company to confirm they had cleaned. The host reached back out to confirm the housekeeping had been to the home & they never get complaints. This was not the issue. The issue was the rust, dust, musty odor "mold?" and the decking.These were safety concerns. Our son has allergies and asthma so this was not a safe environment for us. We really wanted to love this home as it had very good reviews. The host communicated there was nothing they can do for us and they would not be issuing a refund but the next day we noticed a small refund was issued. Overall extremely disappointing experience. I wish VRBO had an independent third party company to inspect these properties for maintenance. We tried to resolve this through the owners & VRBO to no avail.

We had a nice time in Frisco. The house is located close to great beaches and fishing spots. Fishing from the dock out back was nice for the kids. Adults enjoyed morning coffee on the back deck overlooking the canal. The whole family had a great time!

House was not clean. Home had roaches. Decks need major work done. T Vs not thThat you need them very difficult to operate. This home could be fantastic and we personally believe the owners know of these problems. We did notify them of the cleanliness issues when we arrived and they responded immediately to solve the issue and refunded us the cleaning and linen charge.

We love Brigands Bay and the house was really nice.
We enjoyed the hot tub, and fishing in the canal.
There seems to be a leak or rain blowing in the vent above the door to the top floor deck. A couple of times we noticed a small amount of water on the floor right in the middle of where the door middle is. Couldn't see any stains on the ceiling so it might have dripped from the vent?
My daughter and her husband shared the lower floor master bedroom and they said that the mattress was not comfortable.

Owners are very responsive, communicate well. House was very clean, has everything you need. Plenty of room. Veiw is good . We like that area of obx as its quite and quick drive to 4wheel on the beach. Ramp 48/49 very close. Easy trip to Hatteras to hit our favorite eating establishments. Hot tub was awesome!

What an amazing place for large groups. We had 9 and the house/property did not disappoint. The kitchen was well stocked. Furniture and beds were very comfortable. The area was quiet and just the right amount off the beaten path. Perfect place to stay if fishing out of Hatteras Harbor. Wayne and Stacy were perfect hosts. We had a few challenges and they were flexible with us. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a great house and was perfectly located for our weekend of horse riding and a trip to Ocracoke. The house had everything we needed and the sunset views were an added bonus. Although not on the beach, you can see water in every direction. Wayne (owner) was SUPER responsive. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

The house is obviously being upgraded. The kitchen appliances are in great shape. even an air fryer (which I hadn't seen before in a rental) and a brand new mandolin. The hot tube was a high quality large model. All appreciated. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood with canal and sound views. Recommended.

House was huge and had plenty of room. Overall I thought it was a great value for the cost (other comparably sized houses in the area are much more expensive). The area is a sound side development off of the main highway and, as a result of this, you really have to drive everywhere. The drives are short but the neighborhood is not super walkable. This is pretty evident from the map so I don’t hold this against the listing, just an observation for people deciding on where to stay. Access to the sound from the backyard pier was awesome. We found a couple of big water bugs in the basement.

Fun at Flounderin
The house has three beautiful decks overlooking the sound. The middle deck is a wrap around which can protect you from he wind. The huge open floor concept is so fun when your preparing a meal while interacting with family and friends who are playing games at the extra long dining room table or relaxing on the L shaped couch. 6 minutes to gorgeous beach with plenty of showers and clean bathrooms and great fun chilling on the dock as crabs and fish are being pulled in.

We had a terrific vacation. The house was perfect for our family. We could spread out on the many levels. We really enjoyed the views from the many decks. Definite book again.

It was everything I hoped for and more. We had 7 adults and 5 kids and everyone had a great time! Plenty of room for everyone. Beach was right up the road. Outside shower was a huge plus. We used the hot tub every night, fished and crabbed every day and grilled most days. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, you couldn't ask for more. Would definitely go again.

The Perfect Spot
We absolutely loved the Flounderin’ Around. Wayne and Stacey were phenomenal hosts and we definitely will plan to stay there again. We loved the access to the sound for our daily kayak and fishing adventures! Our kiddos loved the hot tub too. Thank you Wayne and Stacey!!
