Vivez un peu d'histoire française et de rester dans 'La Citadine', une maison historique sur la Place Richelieu, dans le centre de la vieille ville d'Amboise!
De son étage expansive, inondé de lumière, vous trouverez des poutres apparentes étonnantes, plafond haut arqué, une cuisine entièrement équipée, salle à manger élégante zone, salon confortable, et les fenêtres, fenêtres, fenêtres - toutes avec des vues spectaculaires du Palais Royal d'Amboise!
La Citadine est de 950 pieds carrés, et occupe les 2 derniers étages d'un classique de ville française de trois étages construit à l'origine dans les années 1500!
Il était une fois une partie de la place animée Richelieu le long de la Route de Chenonceau, le plus célèbre de la vallée de la Loire 16ème Chateaux siècle.
La maison est historique, mais a été rénové avec tout nouveau système électrique, y compris les points pratiques USB partout, nouvelle plomberie, éclairage, salle de bains moderne, cuisine, et même l'air conditionné à l'étage supérieur expansive, avec ces vues, et les fenêtres sans fin !
Après avoir entré La Citadine à partir d'un, de retour d'entrée de manière privée, et vous serez transporté dans un autre temps avec son escalier historique, cheminée dans la chambre principale, de belles poutres apparentes, grand plafond, et la combinaison des caractéristiques historiques et d'un mobilier moderne et fonctionnel /.
Le premier étage (US 2nd) est l'endroit où vous trouverez les deux chambres.
La Citadine dispose de 2 grandes chambres, à la fois avec de nouvelles salles de bains entièrement équipées. Les deux chambres ont de nouveaux lits.
La chambre principale spacieuse dispose d'une reine, et il est assez grand pour avoir un coin salon avec un canapé-lit double de taille (espace de couchage supplémentaire si nécessaire), et une cheminée d'origine étonnante.
La deuxième chambre a également un lit Queen, et une autre salle de bain entièrement équipée.
Le deuxième étage (US 3) est l'endroit où vous trouverez la cuisine entièrement équipée, avec cuisinière, four, micro-ondes, machine à café Nespresso, lave-vaisselle, des vêtements de taille laveuse et sécheuse, et tout ce que vous aurez besoin de faire des repas gastronomiques de la produits frais trouvés sur le marché libre d'Amboise, et les magasins spécialisés le long de la célèbre rue Nationale.
Il y a une grande salle à manger, salon, avec télévision à écran plat moderne, et toutes ces fenêtres donnant sur la Place Richelieu, les toits d'Amboise, et le Palais Royal! Ce salon / salle à manger / cuisine expansive est également climatisée.
La Citadine est à trois minutes à pied du Palais Royal et à deux minutes de la rue Nationale, avec son tour de l'horloge, des vêtements et des magasins d'antiquités, restaurants, salles de dégustation de vin, des fromageries, boulangeries, location de vélos, etc.

Located in heart of Amboise within easy walking distance of restaurants this is ideal rental to tour Chateaus of Loire. Well equipped - washer, dryer, dishwasher, two large bedrooms and two baths. Bedrooms are above the entrance up steep spiral staircase, and living area and kitchen up staircase to floor above. Might be a consideration for those with mobility issues. Overall, highly recommended.

Great location but…
The location is great but we had a couple of complaints. It says it has air conditioning but only the living floor is actually air conditioned. The bedroom floor is not. And the Wi-Fi signal is extremely weak on the upper floor so we had to hang out in the non air conditioned floor if we wanted to use WiFi. Also the lock on the gate is almost impossible to unlatch. I looked back at other reviews and see this is a recurring problem.

Amboise base for Loire Valley
Within walking distance of downtown Amboise restaurants, Amboise street markets, Amboise Castle. Apartment very functional for family of four. On two levels, bedrooms on first floor and kitchen/dining/living area on second. Unseasonably hot during our stay, so upper floor got very warm during the day, even with air conditioning running. Very unusual temperatures of 107 F. Spacious enough for family of four, very clean, and bathrooms large and nice. Great showers.

Great location!
This place is well set up and has a great location, both in Amboise and as far as getting out to other sights in the area. The management was fantastic and it was spotless. I liked the "upside down" setup as it gave fantastic views. It was exactly as advertised and what we expected.

Excellent stay in lovely apartment
This beautifully restored and nicely appointed apartment was great for us (two couples travelling together). The apartment was very clean, well equipped, and comfortable. Location was great....view of the chateau from the upper floor, and a 5 minute walk to the hub of town. Lots of restaurants close by.
The owner had provided lots of information and recommendations about the town and surrounding area.
We would definitley return to this lovely accomodation

Great location for touring the Loire Valley
We enjoyed the rental as a home base for touring the chateaux and wineries of the Loire. The apartment was perfect as we were two couples so the private rooms and two bathrooms were great. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the view of the chateau was great.
Amboise is big enough to have everything you want yet not overwhelming. We bought our meals at the Sunday market.

Central location
This property is centrally located in the centre of town. It is well laid out and spacious, with a rustic look to it. The bedrooms were very spacious and bathrooms of a good size. The only drawback is the spiral staircase in the property which was a little difficult for us elderly folks. Other than that I would highly recommend this property.

Great location for Chateaux
La Citadine is a marvelous 2-floor apartment within walking distance of everything in Amboise. The view of the castle from the “great room” is even better than we expected. And that floor is air conditioned. The bathrooms are modern and clean. The only problem we had was that there wasn’t a handrail on the spiral staircase.

Lovely stay in Amboise
I can not recommend this accommodation high enough. All rooms and amenities are outstanding. Everything is spotless and works well. Beds and linens are good and everything is supplied for a lovely stay.
Muriel, the estate manager is so very helpful. Much to my regret, I did not make a taxi reservation on a rainy day to the train station. Muriel came to our rescue driving us there and saving us from a retched walking trip.
As noted, there are steep stairs to both the bedrooms and the living area. We are both in our 60s and managed the stairs without difficulty, leaving our suitcases on the ground floor.
On one last note, the home is about 5 minutes walking from shops and the castle.

We had an incredible stay at La Citadine. The property owners were incredibly helpful and responded immediately when we had a few questions about the property. The location was great, just a few blocks from shopping and restaurants. Wonderful apartment!
This charming Amboise two bedroom/two bath apartment was probably our best vacation rental to date (and we’ve had many!). The decor is lovely, condition impeccable, amenities way beyond adequate, and the view of the chateau from the top floor magical! Moreover, the air conditioner and fans were more than welcome during this hot summer, making our stay very comfortable. Add to all that a location that’s a short walk to everything, including some of the best restaurants we’ve had the pleasure to eat in yet! I can not recommend this property highly enough! Thank you for a memorable stay in Amboise!

Many positives, but negatives too
This is a charming, stylishly-refurbished property in a great location and with a good kitchen, great bathrooms, effective air-con in the living room and comfortable furniture. What's not to like?
Well, getting in and out of it was a nightmare. Access is through an ancient metal gate with an ancient lock. The gate no longer aligns properly and takes considerable brute force to open or close it. My wife did not have the physical strength to open or close it. I lost a bit of skin and blood on a finger on one occasion when I grabbed it wrong to heave on it. I ended up booting it, as the safest way. On top of this, the lock was well past its use-by date and required much fiddling and finesse to work it. This really took the shine off the stay, and the owners need to urgently fix this.
As there was no doorbell, the only way someone stuck outside could communicate with someone inside was by calling them on their mobile phone. This was kind-of OK in our case, but it still didn't feel right.
There were one or two other, less important issues, but I'll leave it at that.

Sehr überzeugendes Ambiente mit allem Komfort
Die Ferienwohnung La Citadine hat uns außerordentlich gut gefallen. Sie liegt nahe am historischen Zentrum, so dass man alles zu Fuß erreichen kann. Der Blick auf das Schloss von Amboise aus dem Dachgeschoss ist super schön.
Kostenlose Parkplätze finden sich jederzeit in unmittelbarer Umgebung.
Die Zimmer sind hell und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Zu jedem Schlafzimmer gehört ein sehr schönes Bad mit allem Komfort (z.B. Handtuchtrockner).
Auch im großzügigen Wohn-Essbereich mangelt es an Nichts.
Für einen Aufenthalt mit vier Personen ist diese Wohnung sehr zu empfehlen.

Pristine, extremely comfortable duplex in the heart of Amboise.
We could not have asked for more! This property was "brand new" spotless, conveniently located, and became our home away from home very quickly. Every amenity was thought of, parking was easy, and great food stores and restaurants within walking distance. It was so beautiful and comfortable that we would not hesitate to stay here again. Actually it was one of the best properties we have ever rented. Thank you to our host who made everything so easy for the 4 of us.

A Satisfying Stay at La Citadine!
This apartment has old-world charm from its wooden beams, but has been updated throughout. Its decor is cheery and bright. The beds are comfortable, and we were excited that our daughter had her own bathroom in her bedroom (as many parents of teenage girls would commiserate). The family area upstairs is very comfortable and has a well-appointed kitchen. There is a dishwasher, and clothes washer/drier combo that we put to good use. The view of Amboise Chateau from the top floor is lovely. The guidebook that the hosts left is detailed and extremely helpful. We took some of their restaurant recommendations (Le Patio and Anne de Bretagne) and were very pleased. Amboise is a charming little city, and the sites are walkable from the apartment. There's a Carrefour closeby and we bought items for meals there. Amboise is centrally located in the Loire Valley, and a perfect base for exploring. We really enjoyed our stay at La Citadine and hated to leave. We would definitely stay here again!

Charming apartment in the heart of Amboise
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Citadine. The apartment has been wonderfully renovated. It is a delight to be staying in a 500 year-old building. The apartment was impeccably clean and well situated to walk to the sights while being in a quiet neighbourhood. The owners were very helpful and, when we were unable to secure a taxi to the train station, they drove us there. While we wondered whether we would have trouble finding parking as we came and went, we never found it an issue.

Class Act!
The pictures and description of the apartment did not do it justice. It was spectacular. The mixture of old (wooden beams and closets) with modern (usb ports over the nightstand and air conditioning upstairs) was exceptionally well planned. The apartment was an easy walk to 'town' with its shops, restaurants and the chateau.
