We came to be beach bums! This was the perfect place for that. We did not want to leave. The house is well stocked. Frank is easy to get in touch with. We can’t wait to come back!

The good: The house is right on the beach. The beach is a quieter area without too many crowds. The volleyball nets are wonderful. Frank is very communicative. The house was very clean. The garage is spacious enough for a midsize SUV. The house is air-conditioned, which is a benefit at night.
FYIs for future guests… this house is very close to LAX (fully disclosed in the listing). The listing and the reviews do not mention how loud the airport noise is. You can hear planes taking off while inside the house with all the windows closed and the air conditioner running. Being an international airport, flights takeoff all night long.
The queen bed bedroom is on the ground floor, children might be nervous to be alone downstairs.
The bad… The neighbors are doing construction, and the worker set up his power tools on the patio by the ocean. A circular saw woke the whole house up at 7 AM. The neighboring owner is disrespectful. He blocked me in the garage and gave me attitude about moving his car until he realized I was a guest.
The house is showing its age. Windows are dirty or cracked. The sliding doors are weathered and very difficult to use especially for children. The railing are rusted. Floors, cabinets, walls, and paint are peeling or damaged. It doesn’t feel like the luxury experience the listing describes.
I thought about this review for a while since I seem to be in the minority, but hope these thoughts are helpful for other guests.

The LAX Beach House was the perfect place to stay for our vacation to LA. The listing was very accurate—beach access from the back patio, better than expected parking situation, and a truly fantastic home with an exceptional host who answered all our questions prior to arrival. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The house was clean, had ample room, and the location is amazing. We will be staying here the next time we are in the area.

We were looking for a place to enjoy much-needed family time throughout the weekend while celebrating and this beach house was perfect! This is a nice quiet beach that lies between LAX and Marina del Rey. The home is directly on the beach and provides all the advantages for which one would hope. The sliding glass doors open the house to the beach. The upstairs deck is a lovely place for coffee. The entire home is functional and clean. Unlike Malibu, there is a lot of nearby parking. This was our first VRBO and we were worried the reality would not match the advertisements. We were pleasantly surprised and now the family is clamoring for a return visit in 2024. :-)

Nice beach house where you can walk right out to the ocean.
Location is in an older area. The next door house is being gutted and they were jack hammering during the day.
A window won't close on the main floor. Owner offered to come duct tape it shut. He said parts have been ordered. The girls were a little concerned at night.
You have many stairs (18) to get luggage to the bedrooms upstairs. This is the master bedroom location.
Overall the house is nice with a good kitchen. Walking out the back door to the beach is the best. The beach view from the master bed is wonderful.

A group could literally fly into LAX, Uber over, and never have to go anywhere else. The Beach, Parks, Coffee Shops, Restaurants, and stores are all walking distance, or easy Uber. #PlayaProvisions - wow!
We didn’t do that. We rented a car, plenty of parking for two rentals. Visited Hollywood, Santa Monica and Disney, all easy drives.
The home is clean, the beds are all comfortable, and the view from the Kitchen, Living, and Master are amazing. We did not need the AC but it is nice to have just in case.
Frank was very helpful ahead of check-in and during the stay. Had a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival (Thanks for that).
I found the home to have an interesting price point, very reasonable for a private beach house, maybe a bit on the high end for 3 bedrooms. It is a bit older and has a few remodels going on in the neighborhood - very up and coming, high-end, secluded and private area. Book it! You won’t be disappointed.

We enjoyed four nights at this wonderful property. The home was large and roomy and directly on the ocean. There are three bedrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs. Each has its own large bathroom. The upstairs master bedroom has a very large deck which overlooks the ocean. It was magical. We have a terrific time. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance too. The property owners communication was excellent. We couldn't have been more delighted.

Our family really enjoyed staying at Frank's beautiful beach house. The bedrooms all have their own bathroom and were roomy and well furnished. The master bedroom is incredible - huge and spacious and the balcony overlooking the ocean is spectacular. The living space suited our family of 5 well - we played games at night inside or outside depending on the weather - either way with the beautiful beach views. During the day walking out your back door to an enormous, uncrowded beach is hard to match.
Frank was extremely responsive during the booking process (had to change dates but no problem) and checked in when we got there.
Great place - we would definitely stay here again.

This property was clean, well equipped and like a home from home. Being situated on the beach was a dream for us as a family with the most beautiful sunsets. Its location meant that we were central to many major tourist attractions from Disney, Universal and Warners to the La brea tar pits, Lacma, Getty, Griffith Observatory and more. If you want a relaxing place to enjoy the beach and close to Santa monica pier this is the place. If you want a central location to many of LA's finest spots this is the place. It was perfect and the host was fantastic too. He kept in touch when needed, supplied information when required and made us feel as though this really was our home for our stay. This will be where we return to when coming back to LA.

The Beach Life.....AWESOME!
We rented this property specifically for the access to the beach and the central location for getting to Santa Monica, Venice, Sunset Strip, Hollywood, Huntington Beach and Downtown LA. Getting to and from the property was easy, no traffic to worry about. The home had all that we needed to enjoy the beach. The community of Play Del Rey had everything we needed within walking distance. When it was time to leave, the access to LAX was awesome, right down the road but you would have never have known that, no plane noise. Our small group highly recommend this property for everything mentioned but specifically for the beach access, AWESOME!! Hopefully the owner will have us back, soon!

My husband, adult daughter, and I enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable, short walk to some great restaurants, and the view is fabulous. The host is very easy to communicate with and truly wants to make sure your stay is all you want it to be. I highly recommend this property.

Awesome Getaway
Frank’s place was right on a quiet beach, which made for a very relaxing weekend. One of the most important things when we travel is finding a clean place to stay and the home was very clean. We would definitely stay again!

Fantastic property. Very clean and spacious. The views from the Living Room and the Master Bedroom are fantastic! Great beach and walking/biking path directly accessible from the back deck. Outdoor shower and hose reel are very convenient after time on the beach and in the ocean. Garage parking is a wonderful amenity. Central A/C came in very handy during the “heat wave” that coincided with our visit. Nothing but great things to say about Frank’s place!

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great. The beach was not crowded and loved having the paved trail on the beach and the convenience of being able to rent bikes from Metro Bike Share so close. Also enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants. The house does show some wear but. We would definitely rent it again if we are back in this area.

Spring break getaway 2022
The location of this property was perfect for us! The beach has a real neighborhood feel, not too busy or touristy at all. The path was great to walk, run or bike on for miles. There is a place to rent bikes/e-bikes right down the path about 100 yds. Very convenient and easy to check the bikes out. We rode the bike path around the Marina all the way to Venice Beach in about 20-30”. The views are amazing- the sunsets are gorgeous. It was well stocked with anything we needed. Walking distance to a great coffee shop and some restaurants. Frank, the owner, was very quick to respond to any questions and checked in with us periodically. I would most definitely stay here again. After running around LA, Disney and the studios, it was a relaxing to come home to.

Perfect beach getaway!
The house and property were perfect for our long weekend at the beach. Our family came in from out of town, the house is conveniently close to LAX and offers the best of the west coast beach life for all to unwind as soon as they arrive. We took advantage of the beautiful ocean views, beach games, delicious coffee and dinners at Playa Provisions a quick 5 min walk away, and provisions from conveniently close grocery stores. I would recommend this property to all and look forward to staying again in the future!

Relaxing beach stay
Don’t hesitate to rent this home! My family of five (3 teenagers) spent four nights here. It’s a spotless home located right on the beach. It maintains privacy because the public path isn’t located directly by the home. It has two giant security doors for the sliders you can close at night for extra security and a safe for valuables, but this is generally a safe area.
The house is thoughtfully stocked (I forgot my hairdryer and was relieved I didn’t need to hunt one down!) There are two grills on the patio and a spot to spray sand off. Every bath has high end toiletries.
While being clean, it could use some updating, but it is very comfortable.
The location is excellent. There is some plane traffic, but it’s easy to tune out and not constant. There are lovely walkable restaurants nearby. We rented bikes in the marina and had fun biking up and down the path. The neighbors are quiet.
Be mindful the garage door is low, we rented a Ford Edge and was fine, but my SUV at home wouldn’t have fit. Still plenty of parking if needed.
The owner is lovely and was very responsive. He made a point of checking in with us after the first night and was quick to answer questions. Just a very nice guy!

Great Location, Lots of beds, Beautiful Views. However, at this price point the property is very dated especially the bathrooms. Toilet in master is broken and none of the toilets flush properly which was very frustrating. Bathrooms and decor are in dire need of a complete remodel to be in line with the price of this rental.
