This was a great place that accommodated our family perfectly. The location was perfect! Very close to everything we wanted on the north shore. The beach was literally 30 seconds away. We loved the deck! Mike was an excellent host and was super helpful from the moment we arrived until departure. This isn't a resort, so don't expect it to be. If your looking for a comfortable home with lots of room, close to the beach then this is your destination. We loved our stay!

A Great Place to Stay!
This was a perfect set up for my husband, myself, my 2 kids, and my in-laws. The two floors allowed for some privacy, but also great common spaces for everyone to hang out. The lanai was beautiful and all the fans and air conditioning units made it so comfortable. It is so close to the beach, less than a minute walk. We saw turtles and beautiful sunsets. And a warm outdoor shower to wash off the sand. Mike was great and super helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing host and awesome location!!
What a fantastic stay! A walk across the street to a great beach that feels private, is fun for snorkeling, allows sunset and sunrise viewing, and has frequent turtle sightings. Mike is a tremendous host!! The house he built is so spacious and has everything you’d need and more- there are chairs, a surfboard, and boogie boards for the beach, Bluetooth speakers that rock the whole house, and a wonderful balcony with a ton of seating and great views-
This was a terrific vacation and Mike’s attentive hosting and this great house were a giant part of that!

Authentic Aloha place to stay
We had a great stay at Mike’s place. His place was clean, organized and welcoming, Mike was welcoming. His laid back Hawaii style made us feel like staying at an old friend’s place. Our 3 teenage sons stayed comfortably in the boho style bottom level complete with stereo, tv, shower and kitchenette. The upper level had a full kitchen, full bath, 2 masters. And an entire outdoor covered deck. Mike had all the body-boards, snorkel gear and towels already there for us to use. The beach is easy walking distance. We will definitely be back.

family vacation
We really enjoyed our stay. It was exactly what we needed to get away from the city and chaos of life. There was plenty of space, we could have had an even bigger group comfortably.

It was great to have easy beach access and our host was a great guy. The house had plenary of beds.

Spacious and comfortable
We rented this property for 11 nights. There were 6 young women and 2 adults in our group. Having space to spread out was a top priority in our search. This property has tons of room to spread out and relax. We had room to spare!
There are 3 seperate bedrooms and another large room with a double bed and a king bed. 2 livingrooms and a large beautiful deck (lanai)- my favorite spot!
The nearly private beach- Stunning!
The property included several extra amenities
-lots of towels
-beach mats
-goggles
-Boogie boards
As someone else mentioned, there are bugs, but it's not from un-cleanliness as they implied. The house was spotless! Bathroom, kitchen, floors, appliances, even the often over looked baseboards, vents and windowsills- all very clean! You are visiting Hawaii- expect bugs.
Laundry not an issue at all. Mike has several machines and was happy to get those started multiple times during our stay.
He graciously made himself easily available to help with anything we might need. Even contacting us to warn us of a severe storm watch. (It passed and we had lovely weather the entire stay.)
Be sure to contact Mike a few days before your visit to arrange your arrival times and other details!
PS. Side note about your trip to Oahu- plan to book any special events or tours 2-3 months in advance. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Center, Kuoloa Ranch tours, Luau's, zip lines, etc sold out 2-3 months in advance.
Enjoy!

Great Neighborhood off the beaten path
If you are looking for size and a quiet beach, this place might be a good choice. We are a family of 10 and we all fit in existing beds comfortably with plenty of space to spread out. Property owner is friendly and helpful, he even put out a hammock for my kiddos with swing in during our stay. The house was clean and provided a large covered patio area on the upper level. Plenty of seating for dinning for our large family. TV's in every room but they are not set up for viewing of any kind except the living room TV located upstairs. Had to log into my own accounts to watch from roku devices on other units. Beach view is very narrow, but ocean waves can be heard from unit. Walk to beach is only about 500 feet from unit and is easy to access. Parking is on site, but can be a bit tricky if you have more than one vehicle. Entry to unit requires a brief walk through ground level that is covered in rocks, doors to unit do not lock, this was not an issue at all, but something to consider. You have to walk through the yard which is covered in rock, so you must carry your luggage to the unit door. This is not a 4 or 5 star unit, but is a great place for a large family to spread out and enjoy the nearby beach.

Excellent stay
We loved this property! Mike was amazing! The property was perfect for our family. Everyone has their own room. Plenty of space for everyone and plenty of fans to keep you cool at night. Mike let us use his boogie boards and snorkeling gear. Perfect location right off the beach. We loved it. We will stay here again!

Unbelievable Stay
This pad was unreal. I have never rented a place with a mo' bumbin' sound system. Mike, the owner, is awesome and super attentive. Footsteps from a white sand beach and a view from the wrap-around porch is to DIE for.. The place is huge and the multitude of mirrors make it massive. Perfect for large groups looking for adventure.

10 Day stay
We were a party of 12 (11 adults, 1 teenager). We stayed 10 days over Christmas and New Years. The house was adequate for our group. Be aware that the landlord literally comes with the house. Laundry requires his supervision and is outside the house. Be sure and have renters insurance. The battery went bad in one of the smoke detectors over a bed at 4 a.m. The next day we ask him to replace the battery and he refused so the next night we unhooked the detector and now he has filed a property damage claim against us. We regret that we cannot recommend the house to others.

large, unique home in great location
Great host, very solicitous of our needs, checked in with us frequently. This home is in a great location, one house from the beach. Lots of space and accommodation for our group

plenty of space, great hospitality, but a little uncomfortable
The house had many beds and was spacious. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. However, both bathrooms had some issues (the layout of the downstairs toilet was strange, and the upstairs bath had a mild smell). We also encountered many bugs. Mike's friendliness made our stay enjoyable.

Awesome location, 5 minutes from Haleiwa, about 15 to Waimea Bay!
We had a large group and filled up all 5 bedrooms, it was very roomy and comfortable. We had to use some bug spray and keep the food put away, but there are a lot of bugs in Hawaii and if you come to the north shore, you know you are not staying at a resort. There is A/C in one room upstairs and one room downstairs, but during late afternoon we ran all the fans and it was warm. Be sure and wind down the shades on the east side deck to shade the house during the day. The outside showers were a lifesaver when we all got home from the beach, there are at least 2 outside showers, maybe more.
The most remarkable feature of this place is that it is one house away from an almost private beach. We spent so much time at the beach right next to the house, saw turtles almost every time we snorkeled, even saw one sitting on the sand. We rented SUP's and could be out on them in 5 minutes. Several sunrise paddles and even one beach bonfire that we shared with some locals that ended around 5 am. Mike was super helpful, even printed some schoolwork for my daughter in grad school. As a huge fan of the history of this legendary surfing town, the house and everything about the north shore was magical! Don't miss - Waimea Bay Beach and Falls (luau is awesome), Clark Little gallery, Giovanni's Shrimp truck, Pupukea food truck (best Poke of your LIFE!) and of course Matsumoto's shave ice. Aloha :D

Awesome location!!!
Our party of 13 enjoyed our stay immensely. I don’t believe we could have found anything better for our family. Mike is an extremely gracious host and had many things available we did not expect. We would not hesitate to stay here again

not as promised
Before booking, I spoke with host Mike. I specifically asked about stairs stating that several members of my party have mobility issues. He said it would not be an issue, just 4 small steps on main floor. Well, there are steps everywhere on main floor and the bathroom is so poorly built one sister fell on the steps coming out of shower, causing an ER visit. 4 more of us went to the ER which we blame on the musty, dirty conditions of this rental. Mike is proud that he built it but it is poorly, at best, created. Pictures show 2nd floor which did have 2 decent bedrooms and living space. The bathroom has a gargantuan bathtub that is unusable by anyone but a giant. Kitchenette counters are pieced together marble and formica with tape. So grimy, moldy coffee used filter in coffee pot, cockroaches and red ants. Not any basics in cupboards with just a sprinkle left in salt shaker. Mike did give us butter for 1st mornings' toast as we forgot to buy enroute along with groceries. Mirrors, mirrors everywhere. We felt we were being electronically monitored. Ridiculous number of mirrors and their placement made no sense. 1st floor only used for sleeping as it was dark and musty, even with windows open. Towels and linens stored downstairs and when doors opened to search for items, it fell off on my sisters' foot. Washing machine located outside but no dryer and assistance required for use. Several times when home sick in bed, we heard someone come in our rented area. This place should be condemned. Definitely the absolute worst rental we have ever had.

Great Location, Dated House
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Hawaii. Mike, the host, was very helpful and friendly. There are pro's and cons to this house.
PRO'S:
Location- ocean view from deck, no neighbors to the back, and just steps to a kid friendly beach. We also loved staying on the North Shore versus Honolulu. The town of Haleiwa is a fun town to play at the beach, shop, rent gear, and eat.
-The house is spacious and there were plenty of sleeping places for everyone.
CONS:
-Only 2 bathrooms for 12 people and one of the bathrooms is a midget-sized bathroom. Also, both bathrooms smelled like urine from our arrival on. The set-up of the house is odd.
-The house is dated and cluttered, although I'm sure if it was updated, the rental price would increase dramatically.

Good. It was very quiet and peaceful location. Would recommend.
We had a family re-union at this property and it served the purpose. The split levels of the property was good for hosting a large group like us, and the large living room area was also very good to get together. We wish we could enjoy the deck, which was very nice, but it rained on us for the whole time that we stayed. The owner was hospitable and made sure that we were OK during our stay. The best part of the house was that it was a walking distance to the sea shore. Once again, we could have enjoyed more if it was a better weather.

Nice home in the North
The house is a 2 minute walk to a semi-private like beach.Lots of fans to keep you cool and enough rooms for everyone. Takes about 45-60 minutes to drive to most places. Very private. Mike was very helpful and willing to tell you good places to go. Only negative was there was no key to lock the doors. Mike was always home so no need to worry about someone robbing the place while we were gone. Would stay here again.

Best Vacation Ever
The owner Mike is a gem. He built this beautiful home himself. The house is huge and amazing. We had 9 adults and could of easily fit more. The beds are soooo comfortable and he has fans in every room. The beach is your backyard and hearing the sound of the waves at night was so relaxing. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much Mike for an amazing vacation.

Perfect Get-Away for large families on the North Shore!
My family and I absolutely loved this perfect and comfortable beach house just steps away from the beach in Waialua. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us and Mike was the perfect host! He was very accommodating and friendly making sure that our stay was perfect and that we had everything we needed. He even brought us home made banana bread to make us feel at home! We didn’t have to worry about our younger kids making noise and Mike constantly encouraging us to “pound” the music throughout the day.
This home is perfectly located just minutes away from Haleiwa and excellent surf breaks! We loved staying here and not having to deal with the traffic associated with the North Shore.
I highly recommend staying here as Mike and his family are gracious hosts and we will absolutely be returning on our future visits!

True beach house
In Hawaii, the natives treat you like family so our stay here felt just like we were staying at an Uncle’s house. We’re very thankful Mike let us stay at his beach home that he built himself. He definitely put some work into this house. There was plenty of room to fit our group of 10, blue tooth speakers throughout, plenty of space to sleep and eat, and 3 showers outside which we ended up using more than the ones indoor. This was a very unique and unforgettable experience for us all. Having access to basically what feels like your own private beach just a few steps away was the best. Thank you so much Mike for being an amazing host!

Wonderful stay in Waialua!
We had a wonderful stay at this property in Waialua. With easy access to the North Shore, a private beach literally in the backyard, and lots of room, this was a perfect place for our party of 12! Mike goes above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed each and every day and saved the day by helping us fix a flat tire!! Awesome place, awesome stay, can't wait to return!

Nice. Very close to the beach and very convenient.
Loved it here. Mike is very helpful and accommodating. You walk right out to the beach. Nice to hear the ocean waves while you sleep. Very quiet neighborhood. Not crowed like in the city. We'll definitely come back!

A perfect place for a large group
We had five families staying at this rental and all enjoyed this large home with lots of entertainment in every room plus a very large livingroom for group gathering. Mike, the owner was very helpful and friendly. He painted the large patio (lanai) and had large, new sofa furniture out on the lanai and also a brand new large BBQ grill. This rental is very quiet and peaceful and a nice sandy beach close by. I will recommend this rental to anyone with a large group....lots of room, very quiet neighborhood, and friendly owner. Mike is "top notch".

First of all, for us this was great place.
5 of my family member came out Japan for the first time. We arrived at quite early, but Mike, owner let us in. That was very helpful because some of my family member were quite tired due to long trip. my kid and my nephews were very excited because we are not easy to find such big place in Japan. Beds are enough for 11. We enjoyed meal in big dinning kitchen. It was very nice to stay Out of city. If you rent a car , anyway you can reach to Waikiki easily. Furthermore, it is very great deal and nice. Thanks Mike.

Our family had a great time staying here. Marie and Mike were very nice and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and everyone had great nights of sleep. Its a nice place for multiple families as the different levels provided additional privacy. If we needed anything they were right there! And you can't beat the beach out your back door :). Thanks so much!

We are an out of state contractor, needed a place for four of our technicians to stay, overall renting this house was a little more cost savings. No big complaints from the guys, other than it has no air conditioning...! Communication with property owner was a little difficult, due to time difference and emailing back and forth.....

We loved everything about our stay. Our host was awesome and very helpful! The beach is breathtaking and right at the house. We were able to see see the mountains and beach from that patio, and watch the sunset and sunrise everyday. I would definitely recommend this rental to a large group. It has plenty of space and privacy for multiple families. There are endless fun things to do nearby and several cute beach towns to eat and shop in.
2.0
The house is great for big groups, very accommodating. The owners are friendly, even though they are on the same premises it felt like they were not there. The beach is bedside the house with your own private access. There's a wrap around Lanai to the second floor of the house that over looks the beach. Great for seeing the sunset, sunrise and stars. We had a great time relaxing and lounging around the lanai, downstairs on the patio or on the beach. This is a nice quiet lay back area to escape from after enjoying the city parts of Oahu.
