This is a well appointed vacation home. Great location. Quiet neighborhood, which we appreciated. Will definitely plan to stay again in the future!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Grandma’s Cottage! The home included everything we needed for our week, plus had a fabulous outdoor area for enjoying the lake. I also loved jogging through the woods every morning.

Loved the location, the wi-fi and the ability to dock our boat there. Neighbors were friendly too.

While we had some dicey weather and haze from the Canadian Fires, our stay at Grandma’s Cottage was extremely pleasant. Thanks to the host Lisa for a great stay!

We enjoyed every part of our week here. Cabin was perfect for our family. It is located conveniently close to Belair. Gorgeous sunsets nightly. Communication with owners when needed was great and easy. Would definitely recommend and stay again Only thing to know is no off the dock fishing, but this is characteristic of torch lake, not this cabin

Overall the cabin was nice and homey' it has an up north knotty pine feel to the cabin, big big living room. Didn't spend too much time in the living because the front room was so comfy, this is where we spent most of our time. Big yard to hang out, and the fire pit area was set up very nice. Its very quiet with no road noise, this was really nice. Two things to take note of...you have to moor your boat about 75' off the end of the dock, you're not allowed to tie off to the dock. This didn't work for me, I have just entered my retirement years and struggled at times with this. Walking out to your pontoon its about 3-4' deep at the mooring its about 6' deep so with the waves on the lake I needed to wear a life jacket. The other issue was the lane to get to the cabin is really a 1/4 mile long tight driveway with other cabins breaking off to their residence through the woods that you can nearly get your pontoon trailer down, don't even attempt to take your pontoon/boat down this lane, tight corners with `trees and tree limbs will be whacking it. Wish I was aware of these two before renting. There's nothing I can write about Torch Lake that hasn't been written already, but the sandbar is all that!! We hung out there a lot. We don't normally eat out when we're at the lake but the Dockside was so good we ate there twice .

Our family had a great time staying at Grandma's Cottage property. The amenities and lake was everything we needed for the week up north. We had a snafu with the boat lift but the Hubert's were quick to get it fixed within a day and we were able to use it the rest of the week. Thanks for the great stay!

This is such an amazing place to stay! We pulled up to a beautiful, secluded property set far from the road. The grounds are great for running around, playing catch, and even a makeshift game of baseball or Quiddich (our boys are 6 and 7.) The home itself is beautiful and totally nostalgic of your grandma (we are 40 and it reminded us of being kids) and the walls and ceiling are all beautiful wood. It was clean and spacious with comfortable beds and lots of light and windows. The kitchen was perfect for making meals and we enjoyed eating on the covered patio. We spent most of our time outside and the dock is excellent for drinking coffee or floating around. We rented a pontoon and moored it at the buoy, which is still in water only about 3.5 feet deep and right in front of the house. We enjoyed the kayak and tennis rackets in the home, and left some pool noodles and squirt guns for future guests. There was also a great fire pit for s’mores and hot dogs and sausages! The towns nearby are adorable and fun, and a grocery store is 12 minutes away. It is so quiet at night and so peaceful, and the Sandbar is only a 30 min boat ride away. We spent many an afternoon there. The large trees break the wind so the backyard is protected and the beach is perfect for little people to search for Petosky stones. If you are a bird enthusiast, this is the place! We saw cardinals, blue jays, ravens, a bald eagle, a loon, hummingbirds, and more that we couldn’t immediately recognize. We also loved the little duck family with 5 ducklings who visiting the yard each morning and evening. Lisa is a very kind host and her house is clean, well stocked (we wanted for nothing) and perfect for a lake getaway. This was our first time in Torch Lake (we live in Cali) but we are already thinking of our next vacation!

This is a lake cottage perfect for rustic get away. We enjoyed our stay and the views on the lake. There was plenty of things to see and do. Nature trails near by were a hit with the kids. Lots of memories made!

Any home on Torch Lake and you really can’t go run. But Grandma’s Cottage has something special. The adorable blue home with sailboat shutters and wonderful landscaping. The waterfront yard is perfect for kids- we played catch and many games. The views from the yard and dock of dock of water are breathtaking. Watching the sunsets from the deck even more so. We also enjoyed naps in the hammock! Now I wouldn’t normally write a review about a bird feeder, but that setup entertained us all week. We watched the cycle of birds, ducks, chipmunks, rabbits and more feed each day and night. We saw baby duck and Loon families (adorable!). Searched for Petoskey stones (and found many) right on the shoreline. Torch Lake isn’t known for being warm and boy was it cold!! Inside the home had everything we needed. The location is perfect for stops to Charlevoix and other cute small towns. Shorts Brewery is only 15 min away as well as a well stocked grocery store (Family Fare). We’d go back to this cottage again for sure!

Excellent property for young kids. Very shallow beach area which was great for our toddler and baby to wade out and play all day. Property very clean and just as described. Quiet, beautiful patio for fires at night, not much boat traffic, just really an amazing location. We were ready to book the next year before we left.

Excellent property in an absolutely perfect location on Torch Lake. Lisa was an excellent host and a pleasure to deal with. Peaceful, wooded setting, perfect for families. We enjoyed swimming off the dock and easy access to Bellaire and Alden. Thank you!

This was our second year visiting Grandma’s Cottage and won’t be our last. We absolutely love coming to Torch Lake and this cottage specifically. Our familiarity with the rental and the area made it even better this time around. We spend almost all of our time outside and we have found peace here with our two teenagers. If you’re in the area on Sunday morning, try out Brownwood Acres for fresh donuts. You have to get there early but such a great find!

The location and setting on Torch Lake for this cottage is excellent including the lake frontage, dock, yard, deck, etc. It is also set back a small lane away from the main road - nice and quiet. The owners were highly communicative and answered any and all questions.

Right from the beginning to during our trip we had great communication with Lisa. She was amazing. Once we pulled in the driveway you could already see the beautiful turquoise water. Lisa and Kim had everything we needed to feel right at home (paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, etc) The fire pit was a great hit in the morning drinking coffee to night time talking about what we loved so much about Torch Lake. Sitting out on the dock watching the sunset was stunning. The house met every expectations we needed for the week we where. Thank you again Lisa and Kim ☀️☀️☀️

We loved our stay at Granda’s Cottage. It was perfect for our family to have a private dock for swimming or watching the sunset. Beautiful wooded location was beyond what we expected.

We were lucky enough to grab a week at Grandma's Cottage as a result of a cancellation and delayed start to the school year. Our visit more than exceeded our expectations. Communication with the owner was easy and they were always available for questions (although we really didn't need a thing during our stay), the cottage was very clean and well maintained and had everything you needed. It was the little touches that were extra special such as a welcome gift, coffee for the week, popcorn, etc. that really showed how much thought was put into welcoming their guests. The cottage was just perfect for our family of 4. We really spent most, if not all, of our time outside which is really the attraction at Torch Lake and this home. We moored our boat right off the dock which was super convenient and a nice set up. There were kayaks available for use as well. We enjoyed searching for Petoskey stones, swimming right from our "personal beach", paddleboarding, going to the sandbar, tubing, having nightly fires and watching the spectacular sunsets. We generally do not visit places more than once as we like to travel to different places but have already booked again for next year and cannot wait to make it back to Grandma's Cottage. One word of caution to boat owners. Unless you have a very small boat, DO NOT attempt taking your boat down the lane. We have a 22' tritoon (pontoon) boat and had a very difficult time navigating the road the home is on. Here's our tip. Launch your boat at Butch's Marine & Tackle (about 5 miles away). Contact Dewitt Marine which is directly across the street and request to store your trailer there for the week. Everyone we encountered at both places were super helpful and next year we have a great plan to maximize even more of our time at the lake.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. The property is well maintained and we enjoyed the sunsets every night. The cottage was the perfect size for our family of 4 and was very clean on arrival.

Beautiful location, clean cottage, clear blue water. Cottage was perfect, sunsets amazing, close enough to water to hear the waves from the bedroom. The lake is beautiful. Only caution is to boat owners. The road is tight and the lift is a bit dated: carpet on 1 of 4 bumpers, bring extra bumpers to keep boat from hitting side of lift in wind and waves when docking.

We loved Grandma’s Cottage! Our family of four spent every day enjoying the beautiful waters of Torch Lake. The evenings enjoying bon fires by the lake. It was peaceful and quiet. The cottage had everything we needed and Lisa was a pleasure to work with. We have been going to torch for years now and this is our favorite cottage now.

My family and I spent 7 nights at Grandma's Cottage. It was one of the best vacations we have had! We arrived a little early, but everything was ready and was as described from the detailed instruction email I received prior to our stay. The cottage was clean and just as described. Things were clearly labeled within the house. The backyard and dock were perfect for what my family needed. Our kids could jump in and swim anytime they wanted. The sun would shine on the deck all morning and then the water all afternoon. It was not too busy in the water and the neighbors were friendly. There is a store not too far away for groceries and we were easily able to take trips to the public access beaches as well to get closer to the south sand bar. There was a small grill with charcoal and lighter fluid already there. It truly was the perfect place for us! We had a blast. I can't wait to go back. I would recommend bringing water shoes, which was shared before our trip. It is rocky, but with water shoes my kids didn't have any difficulty at all running around.

Very cute cottage with a great location. Didn't want for anything. very clean. Two small towns closeby with some fun things to do including a supermarket in Bellaire. Scored an almost perfect week of weather which helped. If you are coming without a boat you will find it pricey and hard to find anything other than pontoon boats. A boat is not necessary but adds much to the enjoyment. Only complaint: mattress in MBR needs replacing. I think the listing said it had been replaced recently but I must have read it wrong. My 120 lb wife wound up in the middle and me on the sofa several nights. All in all nice stay.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at Grandma’s cottage. Drinking coffee with such a beautiful view was great in the mornings and campfires in the evening. We tied up our boat to the mooring ball all week and that worked out just fine. Enjoyed eating at Shorts Brewery & Lunchbox in Bellaire and Dockside on the lake. Reading in the hammock by the lake was so peaceful. Thank you for sharing your place.
