There was 8 of us with 4 teenagers and the house was plenty big with all the details you could think of. The WiFi is not great, but it forced the kids to hang out with us! The thoughtfulness of the owner to provide instructions for everything, games, everything you need in the kitchen, and bathrooms was so nice! We did a lot of driving and it was a great house to come back to!

Ideal location. Comfortable home well provisioned and ideal for multi generational family vacation. All of us were delighted

My family and I stayed at this property because it was a perfect distance away from the Grand Canyon railway. I didn’t expect this property to be one of the best parts of our trip. My daughter is nine years old and was in awe from the minute we walked in. From the playroom downstairs, the loft and bunk bed with all the toys she could dream of, and to all the toys that were outside, it seems that everything was thought of. We were lucky enough to be there when it snowed and it was absolutely beautiful. My daughter had never experienced snow before and there were sleds and toys for her to use. It definitely created a core memory for her. The house was well labeled and instruction manual had pictures and were extremely clear. The only downfall was that that the Internet wasn’t great, but that’s to be expected when you were tucked away next to the mountains. We would definitely return and stay here again!

We had 4 adults, and 3 kids under 3 during our stay & had more than enough space for everyone! We forgot a couple of items for the kids but the cabin ended up having everything we needed (white noise machines, stools in the bathrooms). We didn’t even have to break out our own toys because the toy room was fully stocked. Check-in and check-out processes were super clear! Some other things that surprised us: WiFi works for browsing but not for streaming. Keurig is available with an option to add your own grounds. Firewood was provided. There’s a cool kids loft in one bedroom. Thanks for a great stay!

The house is beautiful especially with all the snow we got to be in and play in. Great for family with kids. Has a cute nook with toys for kids. Even a loft in the upstairs bedroom.
Only 20 minutes to Bearizona & the Grand Canyon Deer Farm. Would definitely book again.

This house has it all. It’s clean, inviting, and the land surrounding it is just so beautiful! There is a trail right behind it that takes you through the beautiful pine trees. The outdoor play area and play room was much enjoyed by our two year old son. There’s enough room for a family of ten easily, the four of us enjoyed it very much ! Not to mention Emily is very good at communicating and very sweet. We will definitely be returning in the near future with grandma and grandpa !

Home was lovely, clean, with a large great room and enough room for 6 adults not to feel like we were on top of each other! We didn't lack for anything - from beds to a well stocked kitchen. The wrap around porch was especially nice. We also enjoyed the hiking trail behind the house and the quietness of the surrounding area. The owner Emily was accommodating, quick to answer any questions and very nice. Our experience rates this place definitely worth staying at again!

What a lovely property. All the room and amenities for us and our 4 adult children and our granddaughters. Plenty of things inside and outside to keep everyone busy and a nice big kitchen to feed everyone . You will not be disappointed.

We really enjoyed the cabin and the kids had a blast on the zip line. The cabin has all the comforts of home and everything you need. We hiked the trail right by the cabin into the forest and it was so peaceful. We would love to come back during the winter and try cross country skiing the trail. The kids loved the Coaster park and golfing at Elephant Rock in nearby Williams. Thanks for letting us stay!

We absolutely loved our time there. It felt like home and it had fun activities inside and out (zip line, horseshoes and board games inside etc). We highly recommend this place.

I have never written a negative review in the past. The way Emily, who owns this place, acted prompted me to write one. The property is old and need a lot of updates. The sink food disposal was not working, and the water in the sink was building up.
Several rooms on the first floor were getting too hot, when other rooms, especially on the second floor were still cold. The security system had no power, so our family was not safe at night, if someone decided to break in. In some areas in the backyard, the barbed wire fence was damaged, and the wires were on the ground, which risks injury. The road next to the property has a metal water drainage. Every time a car passes over the drainage you can hear loud noise, which is bothersome at night. The fence on both sides of the road prevents you from entering the forest, so you can only walk along the road. We walked one day for fresh air, but had to return because the asphalt ended hundred yards northward form the property and the dirt road was too dusty when cars pass. The Grand Canyon was over an hour away. Now, the worst part: The property has cameras, and you feel that you are under surveillance. The owner brought up some issues claiming that her neighbor told her, but that was not true, she monitors guests through those cameras. The closest neighbor was more than a hundred yards away on the opposite side of the road. I don’t want to continue about other minor issues. We will not return to this property ever.

This old farmhouse was adorable. It was quirky, cute and clean (and I have high standards for cleanliness.) My family of four, along with Grandma and Grandpa stayed, and there were still beds to spare. It was so roomy! We found the kitchen well stocked with everything a person could need, down to plastic wrap and tupperware containers of all sizes. We appreciated all the little extras, like ample kleenex, shampoo and coffee. We loved seeing the Kaibab squirrel and all the birds at the feeder during breakfast. The wood burning stove was cozy. Highly recommend.

Spent 12 days for a deer hunt. Everything was great. Plenty of space for 6 of us with room to spare. Plenty of parking for all of our trucks and lots of good firewood. I would definitely recommend staying here for families or groups looking for a nice place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was clean, had lots of room, is full of things to do, and is in a beautiful peaceful location. The many five star reviews you see are deserved. We would absolutely go back. My only advice is if you are coming from the south rim of the Grand Canyon, don’t follow the Google directions that take to you to the cabin from the north side. Follow highway 64 south to I-40 and get to the cabin from the south. The south end of the road the cabin is on is paved. The north end is a gravel road and really doesn’t save any time.
This was a perfect home base for us. We saw the Grand Canyon, Bearizona in Williams, spent some time in Flagstaff, and hiked the lava river cave. The cabin is so inviting it’s hard to leave and a wonderful place to come back to after a day of adventuring.

Elk Meadow Cottage was a perfect "'home-away-from-home" to enjoy time with our children & grandchildren. The zip line, loft, and hammock were so much fun for the children. The sunroom was a perfect cozy and quiet spot for reading, and served as a playroom for the younger children. The check-in was convenient and excellent communication with the owner. We were impressed with the well stocked paper products, dish soap, bath products, towels, linens, and kitchen cookware. All cupboards were neatly organized and labeled. A wonderful hiking trail was located just a few steps from the home and enjoyed by the entire family. We took many photos of the beautiful Aspen groves. The property is a great location for many day trips. Bearazona, Sedona, and Grand Canyon. If you enjoy a getaway with privacy, nature, and quiet, you will love Elk Meadow Cottage! The property was easy an easy drive from I-40 on a good paved road.

I had no idea that where we were going was going to be a hiker's paradise!
This house is truly a gem. It's nestled in the middle of the woods and it's in perfect shape. We were baffled by the fact that there was no city/well water and all water was delivered by a truck. We tried to conserve water and definitely started to look at the world from a different perspective.
The house is very well stocked with all the essential supplies. It was very clean and the inside was very homely - plenty of board games and books to read and outside activities. There was a zipline in the backyard which our son couldn't get enough of!
The only difficulty we had was opening the lockbox for the key when we first arrived. It seemed to be stuck, but we eventually figured it out after sweating it out a bit!
This house is far away from any sign of civilization. The closest store is 6 miles away, but had some pretty good fast food and basic staples.
All members of our family were 100% satisfied with the house.
And Emily is super friendly and replies promptly to any questions about the house. Thank you so much Emily for sharing your house with us :)

Short stay
I wanted to bring my family to the Grand Canyon. We were out that way anyway and it was just a short detour. I hate hotel rooms. Since I would need at least 2 rooms in a hotel, it just always made more sense to get a house so we each had our space yet could still be together

Very clean house
The house was very clean and spacious. It is well equipped with everything you need. There are plenty of rooms/beds in house. The loft area is very cute. The zip line was especially very fun. The neighbor is very quiet and secluded. Overall, it was a great stay and I would definitely stay again.

Fantastic place for a family get together!
Our stay at this property was great. The house was well stocked with everything we needed including kitchen tools, lots of toys, linens, etc. Our host was extraordinarily responsive to questions and made sure we had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend this if you're considering a trip to the Grand Canyon or exploring Williams or Flagstaff. The outdoor games for the kids (ages 8 and 11) were a huge hit!! The adults enjoyed the trail and we all loved the peace and quiet.

Spacious, clean, and comfortable
Beautiful location in the Kaibob National Forest. We saw mule deer, coyotes, and horses right outside the back yard and went on several hikes right from the property. Great setup for little kids, we have 2 teenagers who loved the space to spread out. Easy day trips to explore Sedona, Flagstaff, Walnut Canyon, Grand Canyon. Highly recommend.

Charming Cottage!
My family of 5 recently stayed at the Elk Meadow Cottage. We were lucky to arrive shortly after a snowfall, such beautiful scenery. The kids loved the zipline and board games. The Grand Canyon Deer Farm was a short drive away and a fun experience. The property was clean and well stocked with supplies. The host was communicative throughout the process. We will definitely be back one day!

Everything we needed and more
This house was the PERFECT getaway for my family. I was nervous traveling with my twins who are toddlers but Emily has thought of everything!!! There were toys for inside and outside, which my kids LOVED, and there are games and things to do outside too. The information on how to work everything was easily accessible, and easy to follow. Once the house warmed up it stayed warm and we were so comfortable and happy. My kids have already asked when we can go back to 'snow house'.
If you have time - stop in at the local store at the turn off from Rte 66. They were so friendly and made us an AWESOME breakfast on our last day.
We will be back as soon as I can find time in our crazy schedules. Thank you again for the wonderful stay!!

This is our family’s 2nd time at the Elk Meadow Cottage and it’s just wonderful. The house is super clean and outside there are endless activities to do. The host Emily is wonderful at communicating and making sure you’re comfortable during your stay. It is also nearby both Williams and Flagstaff! We will definitely be back again!!

A White Christmas
First, the hosts are incredibly responsive and patient. My family and I came unprepared for snow. Emily emailed us a day or two before our arrival to tell us to prepare for snow with snow chains and/or 4 wheel drive. Initially, we were a bit concerned about being able to access the house because we have never driven in snow--I live in Florida. But, we were able to speak to Emily who took the time (even though she was on vacation herself) to answer all our questions. Ultimately, much to our relief the house is incredibly easy to get to--even for southerners with a rental SUV lol.
Overall, the stay was INCREDIBLE! We were able to go to the Grand Canyon on Christmas which was 75 min away. Flagstaff is about 25 minutes away, and if you're going in the snow, stop by the Target and/or Sprouts to grab some groceries on your way in, just in case you get snowed in. There are lots of games, space, and both child-friendly and family DVDs to watch. But if you and your family rely heavily on wifi, temper your expectations and rather just enjoy the beautiful landscape, warm fireplace, and family time.
We LOVED the house. It was clean, there were so many amenities, and the Welcome guide was the most detailed vacation rental guide I've ever read. Wonderful! We can't wait to come again!
