The Rookery: the Perfect other home when you're away from your own nest.
Le Rookery est un 4 chambres à coucher, la maison de famille au milieu du siècle. John Turner a construit pour sa famille grandissante en 1949. Son entreprise était de l'huile. Il y a encore une station Oil Turner sur l'autoroute 12. Beaucoup de résidents locaux se souviennent encore de jouer dans la maison que les enfants. Il a été construit avec toutes les commodités modernes de l'époque, et a une sensation spacieuse et confortable.
Vous trouverez 4 chambres au niveau de l'étage: La chambre principale est une salle élégante avec un lit king-size 4 affiche, une chaise confortable pour la lecture, un grand placard, et un grand chifferobe. La salle suivante est une chambre double spacieuse avec un lit en traîneau, la vanité, grand placard, et une autre belle chifferobe. Suivant est la chambre double. Il est parfait pour les enfants ou pour ceux qui préfèrent leur propre lit. Face à la cour arrière, cette chambre calme dispose de 2 érable confortables lits jumeaux et un grand placard. La dernière chambre est une autre chambre queen. Il est confortable, calme, et oh, si confortable. Face à l'est, il surplombe la grande cour arrière, et vous accueille avec un beau "bonjour." Il y a aussi une salle de bains avec baignoire et douche, la vanité, et double lavabo.

We stayed with family for a short trip. Overall, it’s a nice old house. Although it’s on main road, it felt quiet as there was not a lot of traffic. It’s short drive to Devil’s lake state park where we went. We didn’t end up going to WI Dells but it’s close enough. We were able to check in early which was nice. Dining table was big enough to fit us. Living room had plenty of furniture for us to relax and chat. There were enough beds for us. Basement beds are both sofa beds. Wifi worked fine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Only drawback was that upstairs bathtub didn’t drain well so water would collect for a bit before draining out. Downstairs bathroom in basement worked fine. Kitchen was functional but small as expected with older houses.

House was beautiful. Enough room for all of us. There were only 7 adults and 2 children due to a last minute cancellation. Everybody enjoyed the convenience of being together, without being on top of each other. Were able to walk to most places.

The house was comfortably large in a small town neighborhood located 10 minutes from Devils Lake and 20 minutes from Wisconsin Dells. It is a beautiful and fun area and we enjoyed it.

We love the Rookery! This was our second time staying there and we will definitely be back again. Just like last time, check in instructions were sent in a timely manner, were very easy to follow and everything went smoothly. Property owners are super helpful and their response time is almost immediate. Everything was very clean and the whole house feels just so comfortable. We were relaxing within minutes of unloading our luggage!

This is an older home, but it was clean, very spacious and the beds were comfortable. We had 7 adults stay here, there was a finished basement, but we had plenty of room in the living/dining area. We were within a 10 minute walk to everywhere we wanted to go.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Rookery. Property is on a main st but it was amazingly quiet! Easy access to so much. Walking distance to a great coffee shop/bakery. Great restaurants in the area too. Quick drive to the Dells area.
We enjoy puzzles on this yearly mom and daughters getaway. A huge dining room table is a must when looking for a BnB. This one did not disappoint!! We were able to work on a 3000, yes 3000 piece puzzle😃

This location was a halfway point for 3 families and we spent an extended weekend here. There were numerous amenities we enjoyed (a pack and play, a high chair, a gas grill. We like the quant town location (numerous parks within a mile or so). We had 6 adults and 5 kids from 4 down to 1. We had a couple communications with the hosts and they were very quick to respond and amenable to our requests. All-in-all a wonderful stay for 3 families.

We had a wonderful time, with lots to do at the Wisconsin Dells. It was nice after a long day to come home and relax. Very accommodating with our large family and the finished basement was a pleasant surprise. We would definitely recommend staying here!

We traveled to Lake Delton for a family reunion and a group of us stayed at The Rookery. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the accommodations were. The house is absolutely beautiful with so much character and plenty of space for our group of 9 adults. The interior of the home is beautifully furnished and very comfortable throughout. The exterior is lovely with lots of mature trees, shade, pretty landscaping and plenty of sitting space. The house was very clean, well stocked, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The location was perfect for our occasion. We highly recommend The Rookery. Thank you so much Mark and Laura for the use of your property…we really enjoyed our stay!

Gracious Home, Central Location
Our family felt completely at home in the Rookery. The house was lovingly renovated and well-maintained in a style consistent with its history. The decor featured both modern and Victorian elements and was always eye-catching. And herons appeared as statues, paintings, and murals. The children in our family ranged from 14 to 8 and were entranced with the house and yard and explored every inch.
The location was ideal for walking to restaurants, to shops on the square, and even to Circus World Museum. We had a wonderful stay in Baraboo and the Rookery is a peaceful, interesting place to begin and end each day. Thanks!

Rented this house to host out of state friends and bridal party for my daughter’s bridal shower. This house was wonderful!! Very charming. Beds and furniture were super comfortable. The location was central to everything. We had 5 cars, and had parking in back enough for all. The hosts were extremely responsive throughout the rental process. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Above and beyond!
Our stay at the Rookery was fantastic. First off... the pictures do not quite do it justice... The house is beautiful! It is large enough that our ten person group felt small in the space. Secondly, Mark and Laura went above and beyond. They were extremely communicative in navigating a booking challenge that came up and were quick to ensure that we had all of our needs met once we arrived at the house. We would be so happy to return!

Excellent Location! Great for Families!
This was an excellent rental for our extended family. We were super close to Devils Lake State Park, super close to Ishnala Supper Club, and just a few blocks away from the downtown square of Baraboo. Winery and Brewery were within a 5 min drive too. Spacious enough for a multi-family gathering (grandparents, my fam, and my sister's fam stayed including little kids). Great place and we'd love to stay again!
