I was in the area for a couple of days for a gathering in nearby Fish Camp. The Bear cottage was a comfortable , clean, and quiet unit located just off the highway in Oakhurst. It’s located close to restaurants, shopping, and Bass Lake. It’s about 30 min from the South entrance to Yosemite.
Sharon, the property host, gave clear instructions for check in/out. She and her husband live on site. I never got to meet them but it was nice knowing that assistance, if needed, was close by.

Perfect cottage for a visit to Yosemite. Clean comfortable space. The detailed note by the hose could not have been more helpful. We went to two restaurants she recommended and both were fantastic! If we visit Yosemite again we will book again!

Well, we had just gotten married, and we were looking for a quiet place to celebrate a weekend honeymoon, abd judt be wuth eachother.This lovely little cottage offered just that. It was comfortable, and stocked with everything we might need. We were able make nice meals, and relax inside and out. I had envisioned it being a little more secluded, but that was not an issue. Sharon was a gracious host, there to help with anything. She even came out late in the evening to change out a propane tank, and relight the pilot in the gas fireplace, which in itself was very inviting. We enjoyed ourselves while in the area, and will definitely consider coming back to stay in the little bear cottage .

Yosemite’s Suite Retreat was as advertised and just what we needed for our visit to the area and to attend a wedding at Yosemite. We really loved the privacy and being in our own space. Found several great restaurants close by. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful 3 nights stay at little Bear cottage. Lovely, peaceful location. Easy access to Bass Lake and not to far from yosemite. Lots of places to eat nearby we also made use of the bbq and enjoyed the peace and beauty of the property.
Check in and out was super easy. The place was spotlessly clean and Tidy.
Super cute hide away and the perfect size for 2. So much more charm than the near-by soulless chain hotels.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to a friend.

Fantastic weekend getaway
What a great little cottage! Perfect for a weekend of hiking in Yosemite Valley (~30 min from park entrance). Sharon is a great host, property was extremely clean and nicely decorated. And she even left some snacks! The grill and table outside were a nice touch, and really expanded the usability of the kitchenette. Oakhurst itself has plenty of great restaurants and a couple of big grocery stores, so lots to do in the evening as well. Would definitely recommend this cute cottage to friends in the future!

Nice house, but the property owner is not
This house is fine- small but plenty of room for 2 people. But MAKE SURE you read the fine print on your rental agreement. I made a stupid mistake and thought we had it a day longer so when Sharon texted me we rushed back, but apparently pissed her off so she refused to refund my security deposit over ridiculous issues like a clogged toilet that flushed fine for us and “oil spots” in the driveway(which is gravel and I was in a rental). I expected to pay for our late departure per the agreement, but feel like Sharon unfairly assessed the property through the eyes of annoyance. I would not recommend this property just based on her, but if you make sure to memorize the entire rental agreement and don’t make Sharon mad you should be fine.

An awesome place for two!!
My husband and I stayed at this place for our trip to Yosemite for 4 days. Sharon is very nice and easy to communicate with, and the place is super cute, cozy and clean! It has everything you need including a fridge, coffee maker, utensils/plates and even snacks and Yosemite information and nearby restaurants!
It’s about 30 minute drive to the Yosemite South Gate and and hour and 15 min- up to an hour and 30 min to the valley if that is helpful. :)

Little Bear cabin
Stayed two nights and it was wonderful! Comfortable, spotlessly clean, quiet. In the morning I heard quail and doves. So peaceful and safe. Not difficult to find, either. Very nice place, very nice people. I’ll stay again!

Perfect getaway for 2
I loved my stay at Sharon and Mike's little bear cottage. It was perfect for me and my boyfriend, as we were hiking Yosemite park for 5 days. We had the best of both worlds since we are outdoorsey people but wanted the comforts of home (watching The Office is something we cant live without). The location was tucked away on a hilly driveway, where we could see alpacas, deer, rabbits and partridge birds running around. The cottage was very neat and clean, and we did all our cooking on their bbq. Luckily my bf was thoughtful enough to bring a cast iron pan, because we wouldve been out of luck. We would definitely return again but remember to bring some choice cookwares. It was the perfect getaway!

Cute & Quaint!
Really inviting and cosy for the two of us. Met Mike on our first day as we were out a lot during most of our stay. He was very helpful and the place itself was very clean and neat. The place was hidden in the hills and we loved how quiet and peaceful it was. Everything was perfect for our stay and the area of Oakhurst was charming. We liked this location for our visit to Yosemite and the bed was so comfy! Would definitely come again. Thank you Mike and Sharon!

Perfect cottage for two
Sharon and Mike were wonderful hosts. This property is well taken care of, very clean and the accommodations were just what we needed. We honestly didn’t know what to expect, but when we walked in, the studio was in perfect condition, bed made, A/C on and jazz playing on the tv. They really set the mood.
It’s a small studio type room. All in one place. It has a kitchen sink, small pantry area, small refrigerator, microwave, dining table for four, sofa, full size bed, tv with direct tv, and a small bathroom with stand up shower. And I think it is important to note that everything was immaculate. Very very clean!
The cottage is located about 20 min from the Yosemite entrance. When you enter the park thru the highway 41 entrance, it leaves you right at the newly remodeled Mariposa Grove. It’s a great way to start your trip.
Thank you again for everything Sharon and Mike. My wife and I are hoping to visit Yosemite again in September. So we hope to be able to stay here! See you soon!

Amazing and great stay
We had an amazing time staying at Sharon and Mikes retreat. It is a very cute property perfect for two people. Sharon and Mike made sure that they had provided everything that is needed for us to feel ourselves home. This truly is a home away from home. Perfect for relaxing and staying away from the crowd at the park. We will sure visit this place again if need to and we will definitely suggest to stay at this place if you don’t mind driving a bit to get to the park. In short we loved our stay here and this place is a cute little gem available near Yosemite. Glad to have found this place. Thank you Sharon and Mike for renting this property.

The perfect place to stay! Sharon and Mike made us feel welcome and made sure to come meet us. They left snacks for us on the table and an information sheet with places to eat, things to do, and the agenda for the running race I participated in over the weekend. In addition, the place was comfortable and fully equipped with a grill, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, and plates/utensils.
Our drive to the Yosemite National Park entrance was only minutes away.

We stayed for 6 nights so we could explore Yosemite. The house was quiet, clean, cozy and the perfect place to come home to after a long hike. It’s very close to the South Entrance to the park. The owners were nice & helpful, we had everything we needed. The house doesn’t have a stove so we brought our electric skillet to make breakfast on & cooked dinner on their grill. We will visit again.

we stayed 2 nights at Little Bear Cottage is was a perfect spot to stay in after long days of exploring Yosemite a bit of a drive to Yosemite but worth being back in a very clean cozy place at the end of the day, although we did not cook there Sharon and Mike have provided everything you need. Oakhurst is a great little town where you can get good meals and they have a Starbucks too :) also the restaurant out at Bass Lake is really great only 15 minutes away. Sharon and Mike are so nice and make you feel right at home. We hope to be back again!

We had everything we needed and were so close to Yosemite park. It was so nice to have such a comfortable and beautiful cottage. The children loved a horse and beautiful garden. My girlfriend and I stayed in the Gingerbread House to kick off our much needed vacation and loved it. The charm, coupled with the lack of tech, coupled with the large window next to the bed that gives you a great view of the stars as you fall asleep, coupled with its proximity to Yosemite, coupled with the cheeseburgers and Petes Place, coupled with... you get the idea.
If the charm isn't enough, the customer service pushes this place up to 5 stars. I had a last minute change in travel plans which Sharon more that graciously worked with me to make the reservation work. Thank you. This is definitely going to be our first option the next time we make it up towards Yosemite way.

My wife and I, along with our dog, stayed here over the 4th of July, and had an excellent time. The place was clean and well-maintained, and the fenced yard/barbecue area was a huge bonus. The cabin is close enough to town without feeling like you're in a town, and Oakhurst is a nice enough place to make a quick stop for food and other traveling needs. The drive to Yosemite Valley was wonderful, too. We'd look to stay there again if we venture out that way in the future.

Beautiful little studio cottage. We had a wonderful time after hiking in Yosemeti just relaxing on the patio. Also seeing deer, lots of birds and of course Sara the horse. Sharon and Mike were very hospitible and welcoming. I definately recommend Little Bear cottage as it is affordable and close enough to Yosemeti and Bass Lake. Thanks!

This lovely well-designed cabin has everything you need to start and end your day sightseeing. We found it was a good base for sightseeing in Yosemite and other nearby attractions. We were able to sleep soundly in the quiet surround, make breakfast and lunch and then eat out at local restaurants. The cabin was clean and well appointed, though small as described.

My wife and I and our 2 dogs stayed at the Little Bear Cottage for our 1 year wedding anniversary. It was perfect! Sharon and Mike have fantastic hospitality and wonderful accommodations. Hodges Hill Road makes a perfect lap for the doggies and you get to enjoy all the wildlife along the way. They are roughly 30 minutes from Yosemite entrance and even closer to Bass Lake. We will definitely make a return!
