Everything was simply perfect, just as described and much more! This is a lovely neighborhood, close to top spots you will want to visit, yet out of the downtown crowds. Our host was extremely accommodating. The cottage is spacious and has everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Ron is a wonderful host! He is very responsive and helpful with letting us know about the new rules for out of state visitors visiting certain state parks requiring registration in advance. There is a tiny little beach a two minute walk from the cottage. It was a nice place to star watch and look at the city lights. Hawaii Kai is a pleasant, quiet town. We were able to walk to Kona Brewing Co too! The cottage has lots of towels and beach towels, body boards, beach chairs, a/c, nice basket of snacks, mini fridge, mini microwave, kitchen sink. We were able to visit North Shore, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, Kailua easily from the cottage. We would definitely book with Ron again in the future. Mahalo for your hospitality!

Ron was so accommodating and attentive! Property was described well and very accurate. Beach was a short walk away and had beautiful sunsets, perfect! Great place to stay out of the city. Small strip mall up the road with coffee and food options, and a Leonard's donut truck!

Great little spot outside the craziness of Honolulu. Close enough to pop on over to Honolulu for activities, but it was so nice to come back to this peaceful little spot.

Cottage was clean, cozy, and had all of the amenities we needed. Location was great for snorkeling at Hanauma Bay and for exploring the island. Ron was a kind, responsive host.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location and quite neighborhood are the biggest pluses. Ron is gracious and helpful host who checked in on us and ensured our well-being. He offered blankets when it got cold and even allowed us to use his laundry for a load. Defi. Will stay again if we revisit.

This property has it’s pros and cons.
It was clean and a good location to explore the East side and North shore. Leonard’s bakery truck is across the highway! It is not oceanfront and there is very little privacy because it is attached to the main house
(Used to be a garage?) The beach in the description is not a place you want to spend a day at. It was clean, good location and has a homey feel but lack of privacy.

The owner and the cottage are fantastic. This place was perfect for my friend and I coming back to the island for a short vacation. It had everything we needed and more. Have already recommended it to friends and family.

We loved staying in Ron's ohana. It is a beautifully (and apparently newly) renovated studio, that is comfortable and less than a block's walk to the beach. We appreciated the welcome basket with snacks, and had everything we needed with a kitchenette and stocked bathroom. It is quiet at night, and the beach feels private, with only a handful of people watching the sunset with you each evening. Ron was a great host, and we enjoyed spending time with him too! Highly recommend.

This property is truly a gem! The bijou cottage has everything needed for a comfortable and memorable stay. The very short walk to the beach makes this location perfect! Hanauma Bay and the Blowhole are just minutes away, as are a great selection of restaurants and shopping. Ron was so very helpful and flexible with us, even providing distilled water!!!! The refrigerator was stocked with cold water and the snack basket lovely (chips, cookies and popcorn). The beach gear and towels were plentiful and the cottage itself was immaculate! This location cannot be beat!!!

We loved our stay here, the cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our Oahu time. Location is perfect for exploring haunama bay, Kailua, manoa falls, and only steps from a small beach where you can watch sunset/sunrise with total peace and privacy. Ron was really helpful and easy to communicate with. Our 5and 2 year olds had a great time too. Thanks!

A Peaceful Retreat
This property was exactly what we were looking for during our stay on Oahu. Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, but close enough to the action to get where we needed! The cottage was clean, comfortable, quaint and roomier than expected. We had plenty of privacy, an attentive host and the bonus of being steps from an adorable little beach with a view of Diamond Head Crater. This was the perfect place for us!

Quiet and peaceful little cottage
The owner Ron was so nice. Friendly and quiet neighborhood feel. Bathroom very small but lots of nice shampoos, lotions, etc. Kitchenette well stocked of various k-cup varieties, chips, nuts, cookies. Nice to sit at patio table for meals and coffee. Short walk to beach.

Gorgeous and inviting
From the beginning to closing, it was such an easy going process. Ron was absolutely a very kind gentleman who takes pride in his home and his surrounding. It was great to travel the island and come back to a comfortable studio. Waking in the mornings to birds and the shore was the best. Having coffee or tea on the lanai was a treat while breathing in fresh plumeria fragrances and seeing the beautiful bougainvillea surrounding then garden. My daughter and her friend/teammate enjoyed their nightly dinners on the beach watching the sunsets while then walking to the ice cream shop not too far away. Well, nothing on then island is too far away. The furthest place is only an hour or so away. Seeing family and friends while knowing we had a place here was so nice. We would most definitely make our stay here as a family next time we are in O’ahu.

Completely satisfied
Ron’s property was away from the touristy areas and just off the beach (just steps down the beach access alley). The guest house is attached to the main house and had everything a hotel would have including a book of local things to do and restaurants. We never had want for anything while staying in the “cottage”. The place was clean and well cared for. The general area is clean and away from the less desirable living areas in Oahu. Ron is a super host and made us feel very welcome. Just a short distance from local restaurants and about 20-30 minutes from Waikiki. I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Honolulu. Great place to stay!

Lovely cottage
Enjoyed Ron and his little mother-in-law type cottage. Near everything, yet tucked away in a residential neighborhood. It was perfect for the way we like to travel. Ron was a perfect balance of being available and leaving us to ourselves.

My family and I GREATLY enjoyed our stay! Beautiful location with a peaceful beach a few steps away and many more at a short distance drive. Host was very attentive and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and beaches. There was a street closure and the host informed us ahead of time. Overall great stay, highly recommended.

Great stay in Hawaii Kai!
My wife and I loved our stay at Ron's place in Hawaii Kai. It's in a great location, quick access to the beach and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops nearby. It's a great location to explore the east side and central parts of O'ahu, and for dinners in Honolulu / Waikiki it's a quick drive most days and times. If you're looking for an awesome place to stay that's out of the way and with a host who's a genuinely nice man and a great communicator, this is your place!

Wonderful Location
The property is a single room attached (but completely separate) to the main house. Inside is a queen bed and futon with a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker). Ron has stocked it with cups, plates, bowls, toiletries, etc. The only thing we needed to buy were groceries and sunscreen. Less than 100 yards away is a small beach overlooking a well protected bay that provides calm shallow water. 6 min up the road is Sandy Beach which seemed to be one of the popular beaches with the locals. There are restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, and a Costco all within walking distance or a 5-min drive. Ron was a great host. The property was nothing fancy but was comfortable and provided everything we needed.

A Little Piece of Paradise
The cottage was just perfect for us. It reminded me of the real Hawaii that I remembered when I lived there back in the 70s. I miss my morning coffee early on the lanai. It was so tranquil with only sounds of birds. A short walk to the bay to finish my coffee and look out at the ocean. The location was also perfect. Just up the road our favorite swimming place- Hanauma Bay. Hawaii Kai had shopping close enough and plenty of great restaurants on the water inlet. Easy access to highway and short distance to Waikiki, Pearl Harbor shoreline. Ron the owner could not have been more helpful and sweeter. Gave us really good tips during our stay. It was one of our best vacations ever. Mahalo Ron for sharing your cottage with us.

Great stay
The cottage was super clean and had everything we needed. AC was quiet and blew cold. The beach is quiet and had a great view if the southeast part of Oahu. Ron is super friendly and made us feel at home. The neighborhood is quiet and has beautiful houses and landscaping everywhere.

Awesome location and wonderful host!
Ron was so accommodating to everything that we needed:) Everything was spotless and inviting when we arrived. We were able to spend time at the beach on our own almost the entire time! (The beach is public:) Our 4 year old absolutely loved all of it, and it was especially nice to be protected in the bay from the big surf waves surrounding most of the island. Plus you are close to everywhere you wanna go! Thank you Ron:)

Excellent Location and Great Accomodations
Away from the insanity of Waikiki , this cottage is 100 steps from a small, little-used beach and very convenient to good food, shopping, and extraordinary sites on the southeastern shore. The cottage is set on a private drive in an exclusive neighborhood. Parking is convenient (100’ from the cottage) and free. You can drive up to the cottage to load/unload. It’s about 25 minutes away from Waikiki and the airport and Pearl Harbor. We also toured the North Shore, which was about an hour drive one way with the most spectacular beaches and parks. The cottage itself is cozy and clean. Ron was an amazing host. I highly recommend this place.

Everything I needed and wanted!
I wanted a place off Waikiki beach and Hawaii Kai was the perfect location. In addition this property is clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Sheets, towels and beach chairs were a nice quality and a Keurig was provided with coffee. Most importantly the bed was good and did not feel like someone’s old one!It’s location is an easy walk to a beach and is in a pleasant residential area away from the tourist scene. The owner is helpful and has lots of information available in the cottage about the island and things to do. I will stay there again when I go back to Oahu.

Cozy Cottage!!
Ron was a pleasure to rent from. The cottage was very quiet and cozy and was more than accommodating for the three of us! Ron was very supportive to any questions we had and a pleasure to meet! We love that the cottage was so close to the quiet bay, but also accessible to restaurants and stores for our needs. Thank you for the wonderful stay! We will be back!

Cozy neighborhood hideaway, close to lots of what makes Hawaii great
Lovely spot. Safe, secure location - far enough away from the tourist crowds, yet close to just about everything we wanted to experience (hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, etc.). Ron, the owner, was nice as can be and very helpful / generous. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic!
Ron is a wonderful host - very friendly and easy to talk to. The cottage is private enough for comfort, but has many homey additions that make the stay just that extra bit nicer. The location is also great - far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but easily reached with a short drive. Plus having a very quiet beach just two minutes’ walk away is ideal!
