What a magical place! The cabin was really well laid out and the location is amazing. Our kids loved swimming and playing in the river. Great views. A great spot for any rail fans too (you can’t really hear the trains from the cabin, which is also nice)

The cabin was wonderful. It was a getaway in the woods, yet with all the amenities and comforts of a home. Gorgeous views of the Feather River. The hosts were incredibly informative and easy to contact if we needed anything.

Our third visit to this comfortable historic cabin. Gorgeous views of the Feather River, and Railroad. Steep, but easy, short hike to picturesque River. Clean, quiet, & close to multiple activities! We will be back!
Hosts are great. Cabin is well equipped. Even with a fan in each room, but cabin can be hard to cool down after hot days. A compact air conditioner would be a great addition!!!

Fishing Trip
My first time in the area. Place work out great. Was a golfing/fishing trip. Was cold but they have a wood burning stove that kept us warm. Place was clean and had all the kitchen needs. They do have a shower bag that worked out fine but would suggest that they set up a pully system to raise it up higher. Would return however most of the key fishing fishing on Hat creek is further away. Same with golf.

Super fun property. Great access to outdoors and fun relaxed vibe. Property is well outfitted.

Recycling
I was disappointed that it was not clear where recycled bottles and cans go. We ended up taking our own recyclables home so as to not contribute to environmental destruction. The only option I saw was to throw it all away in the same dumpster. I found that irresponsible.

Soul Satisfying Experience
Everything I hoped for and more. Amazing property that showed passion, care, thoughtfulness, and exceptional dedication. Absolutely immaculate. We hated leaving.

Perfect Winter Retreat
This cozy cabin was perfect for our annual snowshoeing trip. Not only was it exceptionally clean and comfortable, it was also close to many great places to trek through the snow. The view of the Feather River was beautiful and the deer and eagles were a real treat! And of course, the excitement of watching the train meander along the river was an added bonus! Our host, Janet, made us feel welcome and was available if needed. All around a great experience! Can't wait til next year!

Amazing host and stay
What an amazing place to stay. We enjoyed the fireplace, the scenery and most importantly Janet’s greeting as we walked in. It’s great to have a host who smiles when you are entering and checks in the entire time you’re there. We’ll be back. :-)

This was our third time at this amazing cabin. We love everything about this place! The setting above the river with the mountains in the background, the beautiful decor and large spacious kitchen. It is so relaxing and beautiful. We will definitely come again. Hosts are the absolute best as well. It’s just a treat to be here.

River Cabin
We wanted a cabin in a non crowded part of the Sierra and that was close to a river. This cabin did that. It was also just comfortable...not too fancy and not too rustic. Thanks.

Great Father's Day Gift Getaway!
Historical feel to this very quiet little cabin with Incredible views of the Feather River! Fans in every room made the high temps manageable. We all loved hiking down and going under the railroad bridge to get to incredibly beautiful little fishing spot on the river. Perfect place for unplugged time with family with lots of outdoor activities in close proximity. The grandkids loved it as much as we did. A great way to celebrate with their Papa, who spent so much memorable time in the area while growing up. Wonderful that so much of the area remains unchanged. We will come back again !

Beautiful Property!
The cabin extremely comfortable and provided a cozy base for all of our outdoor adventures. It is more beautiful than the pictures capture. The surrounding property is exceptional. There is a beautiful 10-15 minute walk to the river, which provided hours of entertainment for our family, playing in the river, swinging on the hammocks and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We loved waking up in the morning to the beautiful views. Janet was a wonderful host who made sure that we had everything we needed and that enjoyed our stay.

The trip was everything we hoped it would be. The cabin has a fantastic location. The views of the river, valley and train tracks were stunning. The cabin was clean and warm. Close to many family friendly hikes. Janet was also an excellent host to work with.

Birthday get away
I rented this for My Husband and 2 son in laws for a bday getaway. They said the cabin was nicer in person than the pictures showed. The only thing they complained about was the water from the pipes was not good.

Peaceful Sierra Retreat
Group of friends out for a fishing trip. Unexpectedly rustic meets modern cabin. Incredible views of the Feather River. Short hike down steep but interesting path to the river. Waterfront surprises on the banks for relaxation. No fish, but plenty of friends. Memorable.

Excellent all around
The location was perfect. Short drive to great like hikes and access to the Feather river from the cabins is easy and worked out great for afternoon floats. The train was a lovely surprise - very cool to watch it wind along the river and no horn blowing.

Swimming in Lakes, Watching for Freight Trains
As advertised, a slightly difficult walk to river to wonderful swimming holes. Freight trains with different cargoes going by (a few a day), no train horns, screeching wheels. Short drives to lakes for short hikes to where you can swim. Heaven.

A Perfect Gem!
Our cabin was perfect with a great view of the Feather River. A lot of thought was given to the furnishings and cleanliness. Every item we needed was there. The bunkroom served a a great place for gear storage and day trip planning. The beds were quite comfortable. The owner was onsite and very accommodating. We will be back!

Quiet, Rural Getaway
The cabin is charmingly old-fashioned, but very comfortable.
The kitchen is adequate for cooking a turkey dinner. The design of the kitchen is from the 1020's and is divided into two rooms. I liked the design as it gave separate work areas for more than one person to cook.
The location is very rural and very quiet. There are other cabins in the same area that were rented but I never heard a sound from any of them, and only had sightings of other people twice in four days.
Near the cabins is a spectacular view of the Feather river and the mountains in three directions.
We were there over Xmas and found places to hike and snowshoe a quick drive away. There wasn't any snow at the cabins, but by driving short distances you can get more altitude and therefore snow.
We have stayed in cabins every Xmas for over ten years and this was the best for comfort and ease of getting access to hiking or snowshoeing. And there are very few people hiking or snowshoeing.
Closest busy town is Truckee.

Excellent place to unwind!
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable! The view from the back porch was incredible. Please note that the cabins overlook the Feather River, but there is a little bit of a hike to get down to the seating areas shown on the listings. We would definitley stay again. Janet was excellent to work with.

Perfect location near the Feather River!
Comfortable cabin rich with history of the area, and beautiful views of the Feather River. Nicely kept paths lead to the river, and includes a walk through tunnel under the railroad tracks. Chairs by the water are inviting spots for fishing, or relaxing. A great retreat! We will be back!

The best!!!
This cabin is a must! Very clean, quiet, and easy to find! We loved walking down by the river. The last day we were there a Bald eagle flew right over us. It so nice to unplug and relax. I highly recommend this cabin.

"Throwback" Cabin
Just returned from a one week stay in this wonderful "throwback" cabin. It had everything you would need. And the scenery was magnificent away from the town on the river but just a short drive to get there. A bear even ran in front of our cabin one afternoon. Would I recommend, you bet. Are we planning on returning next year - again, you bet! Thanks Janet and Rich.

A wild gem
We stayed here while attending the High Sierra Music Festival about 20 minutes away. The cabin is fun, bright and open. There was more room than we expected. Two bunks in the front room, two twin beds in another room and a queen bed in another room. Plenty of room to move around. The river is a five minute walk down the hill and there is a lovely area to swim. I wish I would have brought my young child's life jacket so she could swim freely. Town is close by and there are lovely little shops and a good restaurant. It was a lovely place to stay and I highly recommend it.

Peaceful and serene
I loved our stay at the cabin! The river view from our deck was incredible. The trail down to the river was a great little hike. There were nice spots all along the river to fish from. Not a bad view anywhere. A very relxing place to stay. Janet and Rich were very helpful and accomodating. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful View and Location
My little family of three had an amazing time at the cabin! We spent every evening down at the river fishing and enjoying how pretty it is. The cabin was great, too. It was very clean and well appointed and very comfortable. We had a lot of fun playing games in the evening and it was so nice to have not television or Internet. It gave us time to focus on each other! I would suggest bringing some of your family's favorite board games - especially if you have younger children. There aren't a lot of games offered, and you might want something for younger kids. I'd hardly call it a complaint, just an FYI if travelling with kids.
Janet was wonderful and checked in with us while we were there to make sure we were settled and all was okay. There are other cabins up there, and the owners as well, but it feels very private. We've stayed many places in the Graeagle area, and this was one of our favorites! I would recommend it to anyone! It's a great place to have kids and grown ups alike get a little fishing practice in, too!
Thanks for your amazing property!

Spotless and charming
Best cabin I have found in the Northern Sierra. The rustic charm has been preserved and not lost to an upgrade remodel and yet the place feels luxurious and perfectly comfortable. The adirondack chairs on the bluff and at the river and on the porches invite one to sit and enjoy the sparkling river below and to watch the passing trains. If you like to read in beautiful dappled sunlight in a comfy room with a view, this is the place. Very glad that places like this still exist.
