Excellent stay!!!!!!

My family and I were so happy with this property. We wanted to stay somewhere that felt more Alaskan than a hotel in town. The cabin was very spacious we all had our own beds for a family of 5. The view from the balcony was stunning overlooking a lake and misty mountains. We found homemade creme brule french toast in the fridge which was a delightful surprise. The host was easy to communicate with. This was our favorite place we stayed while on our trip to Alaska!
5.0
Moose Pass is the perfect base for the activities we planned in Seward. The host was very responsive to all my questions, and the Stellar Jay chalet was clean and equipped with all the amenities our active family of five needed for a great vacation.

The chalet was super cozy and clean. The beds were comfortable. We all felt like we were visiting a friend. The pantry had all the stock spices you needed to relax and make breakfast. We caught lots of fish so we came "home" and cooked. The host added a special touch the first day we were there. Thanks for a memorable stay.

Easy Check-in and Check-out process, beautiful view of the lake and all of the amenities that we needed.

Our cruise was cancelled so we flew into Anchorage and booked this home. Gary met us at the door and showed us around. The house was perfect and beautiful. It was about 1 1/2 hrs from Anchorage and 1 hr from Seward. We were able to see sites in Seward and in the area. We would have loved to stay longer but we had other commitments. The views of the lake and mountains are breathtaking. Gary was very nice and visited a few times as we were leaving. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves coming to the area.

The property is beautiful with great view and hot tub. However, the wifi at property was extremely spotty. We had to reboot router every 30 min.

The views from the house and hot tub were amazing! We enjoyed our stay at this house and the fact that it was stocked with all the essentials we needed for the 4 days. Our fishing trip in Holmer was cancelled due to the weather and the owner responded to my text immediately and assisted with finding us a guide to go out fishing! The wifi at the house was intermittent at times. Overall great stay and we were pleased with the owners quick responses to questions!

staying here was just right for our trip. The chalet was very clean and met our needs. The location was the best as it saved us time going between towns such as Seward and Soldotna. Highly recommend. Gary the owner is on top of it.

We loved the Stellar Jay and had an amazing time in Alaska. Everything at the property was clean and we had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and the hot tub was amazing. I couldn’t recommend this property more!!

It was the perfect location on the Kenai Peninsula with lots of activities less than an hour away in each direction. The chalets are close enough to be convenient if you had a big enough group and wanted to occupy multiple units. However, they are spread out enough that we only knew other units were occupied when we saw another car.
Gary, the owner, was easy to communicate with and gave us a thorough walkthrough when we arrived. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked including nonstick pans and sharp knives, which are frequently missing from other rentals. Perhaps most importantly in an Alaskan summer, the bedrooms had blackout curtains. I thought this would be standard in Alaska, but our next rental house near Fairbanks did not have them.
We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Alaska.

Fantastic, well equipped house in beautiful surroundings. Gary made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was used everyday after our walks in the beautiful countryside. We would recommend this property.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Chalet. Located across from a picturesque lake and mountains. Gorgeous place with lots of room. My BF and his friend are big on cooking and had all the tools they needed. Located between Coopers Landing and Seward! Recommend staying here!

This cabin has the absolute best view. It was very clean and Gary was very helpful and quickly responded to all of my questions. He also give me the name of a fishing guide that we booked with. Would definitely stay there again.

Home away from home
It’s rare to be personally met and checked in by a property manager in this no contact digital era however Gary was very welcoming and friendly, lives on the property and was quick to respond to any text. The house itself was very comfortable for our group of 6. Each couple had their own bedroom, comfortable bed and room darkening shades. The kitchen was more then adequately stocked and the downstairs bathroom has a heated tile floor which was a nice surprise! The views from the large windows from the second floor main living space were amazing, as was the hot tub!! Laundry provided along with laundry pods and dishwasher detergent and other supplies. We enjoyed our stay very much, nice location between Anchorage and Seward and a couple hours drive to Homer. Would highly recommend the scenic flight tours right down the road with Brad on a float plane that’s located right on Trail Lake (view from the house). Gary provided us fishing poles and box to try out some fishing on Russian Lake. Would highly recommend staying here, feels very remote and quiet.

The BEST, most relaxing cabin ever!
This place far exceeded our expectations. Gorgeous views, very spacious for our family of 6, super clean and well stocked. Highly recommended the Stellar Jay at Spruce Moose!!

Great location, great view!
The view from the deck was fantastic! The inside of the cabin was immaculate and contained much more in the way of pantry staples than any other house I have rented. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings were appropriate but not overdone. I wish there were clocks and blackout blinds in the bedrooms, though, as we are not used to the continuous daylight. Overall a fantastic stay.

I would stay here again
Everything you could want in a vacation rental. Beautiful lakeside mountain view, privacy, responsive host, homemade breakfast surprising us on our arrival, canoes available for stunning paddling, plenty of nearby hiking, short drive to Seward. We loved our stay and hope to return in the future!

Great spot for a group getaway!
Friends and dogs spent 4 nights--the house has plenty of room to spread out with a comfortable living room and kitchen for hanging out. The hot tub is AMAZING with views of the lake and mountains. The property is easy to access but feels secluded. The property manager communicated regularly and took care of any issues very quickly.

Perfect getaway
We stayed for three nights over Thanksgiving break and it was a wonderful retreat. Our van struggled a bit to get up the hill in the snow, but otherwise we were fine. The experience of a hot tub in the middle of winter is so fun! House and kitchen was fully stocked for meal preparations.

Fantastic lodging in a stunning setting
This is such a great place to stay. Plenty of space, comfy beds, nice well stocked kitchen and absolutely stunning scenery from the back deck. My only regret is that I didn’t have more time to truly experience all the adventures awaiting in the backyard.

Family Alaska vacation
Great property. Well stocked and easy to get to. Enjoyed canoeing in near by lake.

Great view!
Stellar Jay was the perfect home away from home for our first visit to Alaska. Close to Seward and not too far from Anchorage. Check in was easy, the property manager hooked us up with canoes for the lake right in front of the house and the kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of towels and bedding were provided. The only things that might have made the visit better were a way to darken the loft area, better water pressure and an updated selection of games.

Very pleasantly surprised of the clean dishes and newer appliances that worked
The hosts were easy to contact and they checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. Electric went out and they kept us informed when the power came back on when we were out

Nice chalet, great views
This is a cute chalet. Really it’s 2 bed with a loft. Great views and close to Seward or copper landing. Could us some updates for overall very nice.

Quiet chalet with a beautiful view
Stayed here with family for a wedding at The Inn at Tern Lake. Very convenient and comfortable,
comfy beds and nice bathrooms-two things we look for. Enjoyed having everyone together in the open space setting on the main floor.
A great stay with very responsive hosts.

A work in progress
Property is dated and it looks like it is being updated. Lots of little things-unfinished construction, several outlets lacking cover plates, some doors off decks not able to be locked, curtain rod in one bedroom didn’t work and couldn’t close at night. Not great water pressure but had plenty of hot water. Exterior of property was unkempt. Felt like it was not quite up to the level advertised but we did not encounter any problems with operation or function. On the positive side-beds were comfortable, lots of dishes and supplies ( might want to clear out some old food products in cabinets), lots of good clean towels, appliances worked very well, great living space and GREAT VIEW!! Good location for access to Seward and hiking and fishing spots. Caretakers readily available for communication.
