Very well maintained, beautiful modern cottage on the lake. The ONLY drawback was the the steep driveway and 102 stairs to get to the lake - BUT not unsurmountable. The benefits far outweigh those factors. Our group of 8-9 older women had a great time! You should definitely stay here.

Paul’s lodge was absolutely beautiful. We came here for a bachelorette weekend and could not have picked a better spot. Paul was an amazing host. He was staying next door and offered his boat to us. The property manager Mike was so nice and helpful with answering all my questions right away and getting us to the property. 10/10

The property is beautiful and property manager was extremely helpful when getting onto the property, as the road is difficult to navigate. The boat that is available in the listing is shared by the another house and should be noted! Overall, our stay was fabulous and we would love to come back again. Thank you!

We had great communication from both the property owner and manager in advance of arrival and throughout our stay. We were well informed about places to go and eat. Mike, the property manager met us in a location close to the lodge and drove us in. The lodge is nestled on a hillside. Absolutely stunning!!! Mike answered any questions we had immediately and was super!! He definitely went above and beyond. We absolutely loved everything and the amenities! We would go back in a heartbeat!

This is a beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Paul responds to questions promptly, and the caretaker Mike was gracious in showing us around the property. Overall, we had a terrific stay!

Paul's lodge was truly a masterpiece set in the woods overlooking the lake. The views were breathtaking and the house was remarkable. We enjoyed fishing off the dock and relaxing/hanging out on the multiple decks. The outdoor spaces made this property one-of-a-kind; from the outdoor fireplace to the hot tub, outdoor shower, sauna, and variety of decks for everyone to explore and enjoy. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely rent the property again.

Paul’s Lodge was The Perfect place for our family vacation. We had 8 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room for all of us. Mike (the caretaker) was very helpful and super knowledgeable about the area, he met us and brought us to the house. When they say you need 4 wheel drive, it is not a suggestion, it is absolutely true! It is a mile long, gravel, windy driveway which is steep in certain areas. Do Not let this deter you though from renting this secluded house. Although the inside is beautiful, we spent 95% of our time outside, taking showers in the outdoor shower, eating all our meals in the outdoor living area with a fire going every night, fishing on the dock (grandchildren were Super excited to catch fish), going down to the dock several times a day gave us our daily workout (seeing how there are 119 stairs each way), renting the pontoon boat (fishing and riding around relaxing), kicking back on any number of decks and reading a good book, and of course tasting the wines that are stocked from the local winery! There were excellent hikes to go on (Watkins Glen State Park), apple picking at Owens Orchard, and night Salmon fishing with Eric from Wilsey’sm Fins & Feathers Guide Service. We can not rave enough about Paul’s Lodge, it was an incredible week for our whole family! Thank you Paul for sharing your home with us!

Great outdoor entertaining area. Expansive deck - perfect for roasting s’mores at the fire and enjoyed the hot tub. As others mentioned, be sure to have all-wheel drive because it’s a challenge otherwise.

Outstanding home that resulted in a wonderful family vacation. The immense outside deck with fireplace, TV, tables, lounge chairs and tables made each evening an event. I highly recommend renting from Paul. He and the property manager, Mike, were very communicative and extremely helpful. Be ready to get your steps in as there are about 100 stairs between the house then lakeside dock. But well worth the hike! Need 4WD to get down the rocky road.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paul's Lodge. The drive in is a little intimidating, but the Lodge was delightful. We rented the pontoon boat for the week and had a great time swimming and riding on the lake. The water is unbelievably clean and clear. The outdoor spaces are great - we ate outside every night and finished off with s'mores in the fireplace. We could all eat as much as we wanted after climbing the stairs to and from the water several times a day! The master bedroom suite is lovely. The other bedrooms were functional but small. We all enjoyed the outdoor shower on the lower deck! Our family agreed that we need a return trip to Lake Skaneateles!

This property was a great a great way to enjoy the lake and all it offered. We also rented the boat for a week and it made our vacation that much more enjoyable. Everyone had a great time, even with a week of on and off again rain we were able to enjoy our time away. The covered hot tub and outdoor living space were perfect retreats for when we were unable to enjoy the lake. Great location and amenities with a caretaker that was very attentive to whatever needs arose during our stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Our group was made up of 5 adults and 4 kids between the ages of 5 and 9. We had a nice stay at the lodge. The lake was gorgeous! The house itself was nice, but not quite as luxurious as it as described. We would have appreciate having somewhere to all hang out inside the house, as it rained quite a lot during our stay. The outside of the house is gorgeous and we did appreciate being right on the lake, and having the hot tub at the house. Overall we had a nice visit.

Beautiful house in a gorgeous location. Property manager was very helpful. Rented the boat and really enjoyed that. There were many amenities at the house to enjoy, especially the hot tub. Two negatives: 1. There were no access from house to walking trails. The location is beautiful. 2. Do not rent this house unless you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Extremely rough terrain.

It is very evident that Paul and his care takers take great pride in this home! The caretake and his wife were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to help us! Since we rented a limo one of the days and it could not get down the driveway, Mike (caretaker) offered to have his wife pick us up and drive us to a meeting point with the limo, and then she came back hours later to drive us back down the driveway to the house! The outdoor living space is where we spent most of our time with a fire in the beautiful fireplace to keep us warm in the cool evenings. My one piece of advise for anyone looking to rent this home, listen to what they say about needing four wheel drive, this "driveway" is NO JOKE! very steep and I can only imagine how slippery it would be when wet! Thank God we rented an Expedition to get us down to the house!

I rented Paul’s Lodge for a long weekend. It was supposed to just be me and my wife but another couple came along. What a great weekend!! We met the caretaker, Mike, a few miles from the lodge and he escorted us to the lodge. Make no mistake, the one mile driveway is no joke and a 4 wheel drive helped but if you take your time you’ll be fine. The house oozes character! Hardwood floors, an entire stone wall surrounding the fireplace and a circular room with a player piano looking out to the lake along with local wines on the wall for your tasting. There is a $20 fee per bottle, but what a great way to sample the local wines while you look out onto the lake. There is a very large entertaining deck complete with outdoor fireplace. This is where we spent most of our time. It was so serene and peaceful to listen to music in the crisp fall air with a fire. The weather wasn’t great but rainy the first full day, but again that deck is spectacular and covered. Didn’t inhibit us at all, and in fact made is nice to watch the rain. The next day was sunny and beautiful. We rented Paul’s Pontoon, which is down on the water below the home. If you get the opportunity to rent it, TAKE IT!! The lake is huge and the colors of the trees surrounding it was the highlight of the trip. The boat is comfortable and roomy and easy to navigate. We asked Mike fir a quick tutorial on the boat and he came in no time. Can’t wait to do it again!!

Paul’s Lodge was an ideal girls getaway for four of us. The property is secluded and has so many amenities we never left during our long weekend stay. There are multiple places to relax both inside and out and the setting is beautiful for just enjoying the sunset over the lake. If you can, rent the pontoon boat - it was great fun cruising around the lake. Paul was also very responsive and helpful answering questions leading up to our stay. You absolutely need 4 wheel drive to get in and out though!

Pauls Lodge far exceeded my expectations . The property is well maintained , the outside living area is amazing and unique and it comes with a Spa section of the house (Sauna, Hott Tub , outdoor shower, massage area) and a beautiful lake view. This is a Gem , My family will definitly be coming back!!

Paul was great to rent from, he was extremely responsive and helpful. He gave very detailed instructions and descriptions so that we were prepared for every detail of the property. The lake was gorgeous, we enjoyed fishing, kayaking, swimming and the pontoon boat. The house was the right size for 2 families with young kids (4 adults, 4 kids). The outdoor living space was the best part! Lots of seating and we loved the outdoor fireplace/TV area.

This home is so beautifully tucked away in the woods along the lake. The house is very well kept and the owners have really thought of everything to make your stay smooth and enjoyable. The views are spectacular and it is definitely worth the drive. Make sure you have a car that can handle some tough terrain! Once you get past the trek down it is worth every minute spent on this property. We enjoyed the hot tub at night and even lit a fire with bundles of wood provided to us by the owner! It was a really nice touch.

Everything is spotless and all the amenities you need are right there

All of us from age 85 to age 15, had a great Easter weekend at Paul's Lodge. The location is amazing if you like nature and the outdoors. The lodge is clean and well maintained. I would imagine the lake is great when the water warms up but the views were spectacular. Mike, the caretaker, was very helpful. Would highly recommend and if we get back to that area of the country look forward to staying at Paul's lodge!!

in town for a mens hockey tournament....had a great time all the way around. Place was more than expected....and took full advantage of all the amenities offered 9hot tub, sauna and outdoor covered fireplace....will certainly come back and be there for next year!!!

As described, the house is spectacularly situated in a quiet, isolated spot high up on the cliff of Skaneateles Lake. Really good for people who like to boat, fish, kayak, or want to be really away from it all because they need a quiet break. It is truly beautiful. The driveway is no joke. It is a steep gravel driveway with some sharp turns, situated high up carved into the hills alongside the lake. There are 120 steps to the lakefront dock. There isn't really any place around the property or even up the road to walk or just be outside unless on one of the cleverly designed decks or the dock. I felt too confined. If that makes you happy, this is your place. The downstairs bedrooms were smaller than I imagined from the pictures. The guest information said there was a home theater with Sirius Surround Sound. I wrote to the owner asking if that meant we could stream from a computer or was there a CD player. His reply was that there was no CD player, and a computer should work from auxiliary. There WAS a CD player, & speakers mounted on the walls up & downstairs. Only downstairs worked. There were speaker wires coming out of the wall to the CD player. We spliced 2 of the wires to get 3 speakers working. The description needs an update. One of the major reasons we rented this house was "on the lake with a hot tub & private". The hot tub was not working when we arrived. I figured out how to get it going after texting the property manager. The water level was too low. I had to drag a hose around the patio & fill it. Then the jets never turned off & the temp was off. The house manual instructions didn't work: Press Button 3&4 to get right mode. Buttons 2 & 4 did it. 1 hour later.This was not a cheap rental. Home maintenance was not on my agenda for my 60th birthday girls' weekend. On Sunday, we heard a loud alarm and the downstairs toilet was flooding and an alarm was sounding. The property manager came promptly and fixed it . The porch lights are beautiful and on a constant timer. Which means they shine into the main floor bedroom. All the time. For such a beautiful, sophisticated style house, the kitchen was poorly stocked. I like to cook and like good quality cookware and utensils. I know that's not the norm nor how the house was advertised, but I was surprised at how much the house was not oriented to cooking. And there aren't any nearby restaurants! For example: were no under counter lights which makes it hard to see while cooking at night.

So many places to hang out. Great outside room with fireplace Enjoy the lake kayaking and fishing. Beautiful sunsets. Be prepared for stairs!

I can not imagine a more beautiful place to relax and unwind with all of the amenities needed for a 5-star experience. Paul and his family have left nothing to chance, everything is first-class. This property truly offers something to people of all ages. A Big Thank You to Paul and his family for providing our group a magical vacation experience. You will not be dissappointed.

Staying at Paul's lodge was the highlight of our summer! The cabin the woods was the perfect getaway from my family's busy life in Boston. We had so much fun swimming in the lake and making s'mores on the back patio. My daughter plays piano, so it was a great treat to get to hear her play. Can't recommend this place enough, we hope to come back every year!

My boyfriend and I spent a weekend here in late September. It was a little bit later in the season than we had originally hoped, but we lucked out with 80 degree weather and sunshine (not too shabby for Syracuse)! In addition to the awesome weather, the lodge exceeded all expectations. We really love how private it is, we felt like we were the only ones on the lake! Though we spent most of our time at the lodge, it's proximity to town made it easy to go and grab a bite to eat at the Blue Water Grill one night. Overall, the lodge is spacious yet comfortable and the amenities, especially outdoors, (outdoor fireplace, sauna, hot tub, outdoor shower, dock, etc.) make this a spot that I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

We had such a wonderful time at the Lodge. The kitchen is so well stocked (when's the last time a summer rental had cumin?), the place was immaculate, and the setting unbeatable. The layout is such that you never feel like you don't have space to be alone, yet there are great places to gather. The fireplace on the deck is amazing. The water is beautiful and clear; our one regret was the weather as we didn't get to take advantage of enough water-time (but this is nobody's fault). Loved the dry sauna and amazing outdoor shower. One last thing: the caretaker is INCREDIBLY responsive. We hope to be back!

The Lodge is a luxury, all inclusive (except food) place for a relaxing getaway from busyness & routines. Lots of shopping & restaurants not too far away. Lots of spaces for different activities for various interests. Love it!!!

We've been vacationing in the summer on Skaneateles lake for years and have stayed in many different homes. Paul's Lodge is our favorite. We liked it so much that we signed a three year contract! Can't wait to go back
