Fantastic B&B in a lovely spot. Excellent hosts Ric and Pete, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

We took to Ric as soon as we met him. We had arrived early and he was very welcoming. The house is stunning and our room was spotless and comfortable. We loved hearing the sound of the water in the mill race under our window. It may not be for everyone but we found it very restful - and despite being so close to the A25 we did not hear any traffic. Continental breakfast was five star with cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fresh bread, croissants and toast, jam, honey and Marmite - one of my guilty pleasures. We understand that Ric offers a cooked breakfast but we did not take that option. It was a short stroll from the Watermill - a lively and busy (if a little pricey) pub with great views of Box Hill.
The biggest drawbacks (and these were obvious when we booked) were not having access to a lounge and having to share a bathroom. We were first up but with five other guests staying the night that we did, it was not ideal and would not be to everyone's satisfaction. It is very much Ric's home and the experience a bit like staying with friends - but ones you don't know. That is Air B&B. It was also tricky to find because the sign was discrete.

Great hosts and beautiful house and gardens.

Beautiful property and lovely hosts

Food and hosts were very nice. The room was nice and comfortable. Location is really beauticul with lovely views.
The onsuite room is not all that private as there is no door to the sitting area plus the bedroom door is glass and not all frosted. The toilet in the room is okay but does not give you a lot of privacy if you are sharing.

Beautiful location, comfortable bed. The hosts were super helpful and friendly.
There was an extra charge for a cooked breakfast but the continental breakfast was delicious.

Beautifully decorated home in a lovely setting.
Great breakfast.
Would definitely recommend.

interesting and beautiful house with a stunning garden. The owners were very welcoming and very friendly.
The shared bathroom facilities could prove a problem if all rooms are occupied.

The setting in the watermill next to the river is absolutely beautiful, the sound of the water rushing over the weir is perfect to fall asleep to. The town centre is easy to reach on foot, the surrounding area is perfect for hiking and exploring nature. The rooms are clean and very homely, the bed was extremely comfortable and I slept soundly. Breakfast was great as well. And most importantly the hosts are very lovely people and always helpful to give travel recommendations and advice
All in all I enjoyed my stay and I'd be happy to return when I'm in Dorking again.
Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about.

A perfect stay from start to finish. Stunning property. Felt like going to stay at a friend's rather than a B&B. Wonderful hosts. Super comfy bed with immaculate bedding. Great bathroom. Wonderful breakfast.
I had trouble finding it as there is no sign. The map on booking.com did not link to the property itself so I ended up driving round for a while and ended up asking at the Water Mill pub only to be told it is right next to it!

Castle Mill is a beautiful house and the owners are welcoming and frendly.

Absolute recommendation. We booked the rooftop room, with your own (luxurious) bath and separate room for watching tele (if you want to). The owners are so kind and helpful with everything. It felt we were staying a few days over with our new acquaintances. For some beers and a simple but good dinner or lunch the Watermill restaurant is on walking distance. Very close to Dorking too and a 10 minutes drive to Reigate.
Nothing to complain about.

Welcoming hosts. Delightful converted mill property with modern fittings. Convenient for NT properties. VG continental breakfast. Would willingly return and recommend.

Absolutely perfect property for an urgent and short notice business trip. This is the bench mark for all accommodation. Amazing owners who are great to chat with.
Nothing, absolutely nothing can be improved.

could not have been better !

Such a warm welcome from the lovely hosts Rick and Jo, really helpful when it came to advice on how to get to where we need to go (Denbies). The property exceeded expectations, we really liked the mix of old and new and the bed was so comfortable.
A full cooked breakfast was offered at an additional charge, the quality and amount was great and I enjoyed the extra indulgence of the fried bread :)

the hosts were incredibly friendly and attentive.
Ric recommended places to eat and the setting was idyllic.
We had the room with bath on the top floor with free standing bath with was great . very luxurious and the view was breathtaking. the continental breakfast was spot on. Fresh fruit and yoghurt delicious and croissants perfect. . It was a unique experience to stay at the water mill and it was very special indeed .
Nothing for us

We were offered a choice of breakfasts at a time to suit our plans. If you start the day feeling pampered, the rest of the day is then more enjoyable.
Not staying longer?

Excellent but there was a little doubt regarding what was private and what for the husets

The staff/couple who owned the B&B were terrific hosts. If you want somewhere to stay, I challenge you to find a better location and venue. AMAZING!!
You will not be disappointed!!!!!
Beautiful location and setting
There was nothing to dislike. The local pub served excellent ales and food and was 3 min walk along the lane.
Perfect host at the traditional local pub.

The watermill is a unique property which has been tastefully modernised. The garden setting is magical and it was hard to choose which sun terrace to relax on. Breakfast was wonderfully home-cooked and enjoyed in a stunning dining room setting.
Beds all had footboards, which for a tall chap made sleeping a little cramped. Bathroom was fantastic but was shared; which we knew in advance of course.
4.6
Fabulous mill setting, (a listed building), lovely garden to sit in. A continental breakfast included.
The open plan layout of the rooms within the owners' home didn't make it feel very private.
4.6
the house and the garden are beyond beautiful. super friendly and lovely staff
not very comfortable for staying more than one night…no kettle in the room nor tv. rooms a bit small

I honestly can’t rate this place highly enough. The owners were the friendliest people I’ve ever met and went well above what was necessary to take care of the guests there.
Honestly debating a full 7 hour journey back just to stay there again.
The bed was better than mine at my house, and I pride myself on my mattress quality…
If anyone’s ever in dorking - stay here.
