The check in process was easy. Enough space for three adults. Everything in driving distance. Beds are comfortable. The patio overlooking the river was perfect. Absolutely will stay here again. Its the perfect size house and so comfortable for a vacation.

Beautiful location on the river. We loved the sounds of the water. The house is comfortable.

This little cabin-like home was situated in a wooded location along the river, yet only about a mile from the main road. It was very convenient for our stay while attending a wedding less than 2 miles away. It was clean and seemed well stocked, although we were out and about all day & night, so we (4 adults) didn't really spend much time at the house except to sleep. The only downside was that we ended up there during a rare extreme heat wave, and the house doesn't have air conditioning. There were a couple fans available, which helped though. I'm sure it would have been pleasant to be sitting outside on the deck by the river even in the heat, though (but we were busy with other activities). Another thing that someone may need to be aware of, is that while it's really very close to the main road, it's a bit of a narrow, winding 1/2 to 3/4 mile to the house. It didn't bother us, but it may not be right for some. Management was very communicative and even left us a bottle of wine!

Quiet; pet friendly; on the river. It worked perfectly for our stay and we were able to spend some much needed family time. We appreciated all of the communication from the host and enjoyed the bottle of Monterey County wine - thank you!! Next time we come over for MotoAmerica, we will definitely put in our reservation to stay with you again! Thank you so much!! ♥️♥️

Great place to stay! Well-inventoried kitchen tools and appliances allowed for us to cook for ourselves very easily while working remote for a few days. Nice to always have the sound of the creek as a relaxing white noise.

My recent stay at this VRBO property was an absolute delight. Situated conveniently close to Bernardus Lodge, where we were attending a wedding, it provided the perfect distance for easy access while also offering ample space for relaxation and enjoyment.
The home is located a short drive or relaxing walk to town that has coffee shops, restaurants, wine tasting opportunities, and a well-stocked general store all within reach.
But the best part of the home was the breathtaking view of the flowing river from the property. It offered a serene and tranquil ambiance, perfect for unwinding after a busy day.
The thoughtful hosts had left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy upon arrival, which was a wonderful personal touch that added to the warm welcome. Additionally, the heaters ensured that even chilly nights were cozy and comfortable.
Another convenient amenity was the onsite washer and dryer, which meant we could pack lighter and enjoy our stay without worrying about laundry.
Overall, my experience at this VRBO property was fantastic, and I would not hesitate to stay here again if I ever find myself in the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with easy access to both nature and town amenities

I have visited Carmel-by-the-Sea many times, but I have never visited the Valley. I am so glad I found this little Tudor cottage on the creek. The sound of the rain in the creek was so soothing, and the quietness of the area was so peaceful. We even met some friendly neighbours out walking and biking.
It's only minutes from fantastic restaurants, hiking at Garland Ranch Park, and many wineries and vineyards. And, of course, the town of Carmel and the ocean are only 25 minutes away. I could have spent many more days here happily exploring and eating my way through the area. It was just the break our family needed.
The photos do not do this cottage justice. You have preserved the old charm while making it very comfortable, and we commend you for it, Erica an Jean-Francois.
I saw some people commented on the beds - for me, our bed was amazing but too firm for my husband (it felt like a cross between a Tempurpedic and a futon - great!), the redwood room had the softest bed, and the loft bed was the most firm. Overall, we slept well, and I've already looked up the Z pillow to get my own.
For those who like a BIG mug of tea or coffee in the morning, you are covered. We travel with our own mugs because we are always disappointed at rentals, but it wasn't necessary this time. We didn't cook much, but it was a very well-stocked kitchen.
We'd love to return someday. It was too short, and I can see some quality hours of writing and reading by that creek.
Many thanks for a great stay.

I stayed here with my partner and another couple for a family wedding. The space was accurately described. The bedrooms were cozy and the fireplace was a nice addition. Our favorite part about the space was the back deck and creek. We enjoyed coffee on the deck and even a cold plunge in the creek one day! The neighborhood is so beautiful and a peaceful walk with our pup. We would stay here again when in town!

All the reviews are spot-on with the location, the quiet neighborhood, the sound of the stream, etc. Our only two complaints were the mattresses in the two bedrooms are old and saggy and the comforters were extremely heavy. Fortunately we found lightweight blankets in the closets.

My family thoroughly enjoyed their time here. The location was perfect for a nearby wedding and convenient to the downtown Carmel area. The home was comfortable and fully equipped. Both dogs were able to roam safely outside, and everyone enjoyed the river access. This unique space, which was filled with the sound of the flowing water, quickly felt like home.

Lovely home to retreat, listen to the river and get away. This visit was for our son to get scuba certified in Monterey, perfect to relax after long days. Our 3rd stay at CV Fun over the years and always consistently a place to call home at the end of the day :-) And the river is flowing!

We so enjoyed our stay! After hiking around Big Sur and eating in Carmel by the Sea, we enjoyed relaxing on the porch to the sounds of the river below. Wonderful accommodations!

Loved our time at CV Fun! Relaxing mornings enjoying coffee while listening to the river, skipping stones, and also so close to the beautiful area that is Carmel Valley and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Can’t wait to come back!

Great stay and the river was fantastic as the rains caused it to move rapidly thru the river bed..

We enjoyed two nights at the house on the river. With the recent rains the river was flowing dramatically! Lovely to sit in the kitchen with coffee and watch the river, and to play games at night. We enjoyed the fireplace too. Super close to the village. Enjoyed lunch at The Corkscrew Cafe (Meyer lemon/prosciutto/arugula pizza was amazing!) and wine tasting at Cowgirl Winery.
Beautiful sunny weekend went by too fast.

I had looked at this property for a couple of years and so glad that I reserved it for a special birthday. A lot of love by the owners must have gone into this home. It has a nice and unique I think, floor plan. Well designed, clean and beautiful. My communications with the owners were responded to quickly. Two bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a very nice living room, dining room and kitchen. Great views of the river and a quiet neighborhood. Pretty close to heaven, and a wonderful vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay in this delightful cottage by the river. The location was great for exploring Carmel Valley and the wider Monterey area. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms comfortable, it was very convenient to have two bathrooms between the four of us and there was plenty of comfortable seating in the living room.

We had such a wonderful weekend at this lovely home. Carmel Valley Village is such a quaint and peaceful place to get away and this beautiful home was the icing on the cake. The fireplace with the supplied wood was perfect for the stormy nights and the sound of the flowing river just feet from the backdoor lulled us to sleep each night. We can't wait to stay here again!

QUAINT LITTLE HOME ON RIVVER & COFFEE
5.0
This is a charming home with lots of character in a peaceful setting. We would happily stay here again. The only slight downside was that we were more chilly than expected (in November) -- it takes a while for the heat to kick in, and the wall units don't adequately heat certain rooms like the dining room. But there is a fireplace, and blankets!

Peaceful community and great for dogs. The place was neat and had everything we needed. It’s about a mile from Carmel Village with some little boutiques (and a very cool motorcycle museum) and about 12 miles from Carmel beach.

Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. Love the location on the river in Carmel Valley Village. Found a nice swimming hole just a short walk away. The house was really well appointed and my son loved the loft bedroom.

Carmel Valley is one of our favorite places to escape the summer heat of Paso and our stay at CV Fun did not disappoint! Watching the marine layer roll in at night and waking to the sound of woodpeckers and stellar jays under a blanket of fog was heaven! We enjoyed the deck and view of the stream below. The neighborhood is quiet and we enjoyed walking the loop with our dogs. The house has a great cabin/rustic meets mid century vibe and the kitchen was great to cook in. The proximity to Carmel and Monterey was perfect and we had a great wine tasting at Folktale followed by excellent bday dinner at Cafe Rustica. Jerome’s market has delicious prepared foods we took on a picnic in the park next to the local museum where we learned a lot of neat history about the area. Will be back! Would be extra cool to see the river flowing high after a big rain! 🤞🏻 Thank you Erica and Jean Francois!

The CV Fun cottage was awesome! I was worried that staying in August would mean the river could possibly be dried up, but nope! It was flowing nicely, and I will always remember drinking my coffee on the deck hearing the sound of it and the birds chirping in all the surrounding trees. There are stairs off the deck that give you river access, as well as a little yard area with some plants, dirt, and sand- My two pups enjoyed exploring the area down there as well. Very close to everything which was convenient. Nice drive to Carmel-By-The-Sea and Monterey. I totally recommend this place, and hope to be back in the future myself!

Peaceful + Convenient Carmel Valley Stay
We stayed at Erica's place for a trip to Carmel Valley for a wedding at Holman Ranch. We were pleasantly surprised to find out the trip to the venue was only 7 minutes. The house was cute with a nice deck and creek in the back. Very peaceful and comfortable beds. We had everything we needed and we comfortably fit 5 adults. The bathrooms were nice and spacious and the property is nice. We are so thankful that Erica opened their home to us. Thank you!

Beautiful creek side setting
The house is exactly as shown in the photos. The neighborhood is very quiet and secluded, and very close to Carmel Valley town. The back porch overlooking the Carmel River was wonderful; we saw geese, ducks, deer, and a wide range of birds while out on the deck. A wonderful setting for a relaxing week.

Perfect Getaway
My husband and I, plus our two good friends, had the most wonderful time at this property. It's away from the hustle and bustle in a very peaceful setting, yet only 30 minutes from Monterey. The home is exactly as pictured, but more charming in person. The town of Carmel Valley had wonderful places to eat, which we took advantage of. And the home's back deck, with a spectacular view of the river, was the cherry on top. I highly recommend you stay here. We can't wait to return.

Enchanting stay
We had such a great time here. Complete calm and peacefulness, this place really does allow you to relax and take a break.
The sound of the river is so soothing, I loved having the windows open while cooking, and I loved sitting out back and reading a book.
The listing was accurate and checking in was so easy. This is really a great place to stay and we will be back!
