We had a great time at Kevin’s home. The back yard is fantastic and we spent the majority of our time out there!

Excellent experience, great host and great house. Highly recommend.

This home is in a great location. Very close to all San Diego attractions and retail stores.

Quick and easy to get to all of the attractions. House was great for the family, a lot to do while hanging out. Only downside was we couldn't use the waterslide because it was too rough. Left scrapes on the kids. Otherwise this place was great and we would stay again

I'm giving this home 4 stars. Not a 5 because of these various issues: 1). The master bedroom with the large voltage ceilings off the kitchen had some mostly dying flying insects that we had to clean up. At first we thought they were ants but then we determined they were termites. They do not bite. We collected about 30 of them, again, mostly dead. Could not determine where they were coming from but after we cleaned up the 30 the first night/second day, we saw no more. The host was willing to come over and investigate so they were attentive. 2). Not many utensils (forks, spoons, etc). Or larger serving bowls. There's no way we could have done a Thanksgiving type meal with the kitchen supplies provided. Think simple meals here.
3). Areas of painted concrete in the pool area are very slick. One fall in our group.
4). The slide might rip your suit. They need to resurface it or something. One suit was torn.
5). Power washing is needed on the exterior. To remove the spider webs. The exterior needs to be cleaned better. Maybe a deep clean throughout.
6). The bath tubs are very slick and there is no $8 mat to help keep you from falling. We purchased two, used them, and then left one for one of the master bedrooms.
7). A lot of general wear and tear. So don't expect "well maintained". It's maintained at a minimum.
8). We were a group of ten and there was not enough toilet paper or paper towels. Bought extras and left them.

Property was as described. Everyone enjoyed the pool, grill and outdoor space. Kevin was very prompt to respond back. Great location. Beds were comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here

Nice home with ample rooms, not the most charming of neighborhoods but is close to shopping centers/ food/gas. We had problems with getting the house to cool to below 75 despite the temps outside being about the same with minimal circulation in the bedrooms and converted garage bunk room. Outside area was fun for the kids, however there is an ABUNDANCE of spider activity present. We had issues with hot tub on day 4/7 and it was not remedied during our stay despite immediate conversations with host and a pool man who never showed. So that was Disappointing. The rock slide is fun however it does need to be refinished, all 5 of the kids have holes in board shorts/tattered swim bottoms by the end of day 2. Overall convenient location but an exterminator and annual AC check up could go a long way.

Overall, it was a lovely home. The owner was responsive to my questions once we arrived. There are a few things that prevented me from giving this rental a five star rating. The bedroom with the couch was very warm. The AC in the house was working properly, but that one room wasn't getting enough air. We ended up buying two fans to be able to sleep comfortably, and left them there for others to use. The other bedrooms didn't have any drawers to put clothes away, so those guests had to live out of their suitcases. Not ideal for a weeks long stay. The kitchen had plenty of items needed for cooking with the exception of cooking/serving spoons. We notified the owner, and he did say he would have some delivered, but that didn't happen. We ended up buying three and left those there as well.
Again, lovely home and the pool and backyard area were very nice.

Rented this place for a small bachelor party get-together with 10 people. Most of our rowdiness was spent in downtown SD (15-20 min away), so we had no issues keeping noise levels down. The house had plenty of beds and a spacious living room. We spent most of our time in the backyard though. The outdoor living area and grill was fun to watch sports and take a break from the sun. The saltwater pool/spa was amazing. It was 65-70F during our stay so we had no need to heat it. Kevin was very attentive (he even let us check-in early!) and messaged us a few times throughout our stay to see if we needed anything. Overall 10/10 experience would definitely rent this house again for a large group.

Beautiful property, even better than in photos! Easy to get to, accessible via freeways. Great house and backyard for group gatherings, large driveway for multiple cars with no parking issues! Loved it!! Kevin was a great host!!

My group of 10 had the perfect space!! The pool table and the outside fire pit kept the young adults entertained!! The heated pool and putt-putt kept the little ones entertained!! The sunken in sitting area was the spot for myself and my husband!!!!
The house was as pictured, if not better!
The neighborhood was quiet.
If I had to say something that was needed, it would be: some type of tub grippers. Shower time for everyone was an event. I would absolutely recommend this property!

We were looking forward to our stay on this property but in the end it fell short for many reasons. If I could upload pictures on here I would, to show everyone many of the issues/concerns we had. Although the property owner did reach out about how our stay was going, these are issues that most likely would not have been able to be resolved within the timeframe of our stay, so we did not mention them.
1. Overall, the property had a lot of dirt/dust and spiderwebs in multiple locations including windowsills and fans. Its obvious that only minimal areas are cleaned prior to renters arriving (counters, sheets, floors, etc). They also need to make sure regular maintenance/cleaning(blinds, baseboards, fans, etc) is done to provide a cleaner feel in the home.
2. The baseboards had dirty splashes all over them. I would understand a bit of dirt, but these were gross splashes and clearly had not been cleaned in a long time.
3. There was garbage already in several of the cans inside the house when we arrived, even though he expects the guests to empty them upon their departure.
4. There was no handle on the dryer.
5. The coffee maker was unusable because it was rusted in several areas including buttons and inside of the pot.
6. There were no batteries in the remote for the tv outside.
7. One of the adirondack chairs in the backyard was broken, so we were missing a seat for someone.
8. The whole house has a strong pet odor in it. Was really gross to not have it smelling clean.
9. The pool table pockets were all ripped so the balls would keep flying out the bottom while playing. They could at least do a temporary fix on it, not saying a whole new table.
10. The toilet seat in the hallway bathroom was broken/swiveling and wasnt even the correct size for the toilet. It was larger than the bowl.
11. Wifi didnt work across the house so the kids were unable to play their video games and phones didnt have connection via wi-fi
We would not stay here again and feel that the house is overpriced for what it is. The owner was also overly communicative about the house rules. Within the messages, he reached out 3 different times about no noise after 9pm, 2 different times about putting out the garbage cans on Sunday and 2 different times about check out time. All of this information was in the house manual that he provides after booking the property and has a print out version in the property so this felt very excessive and annoying. We would not stay here again.

This property was perfect for our friend/family vacation. The backyard was an actual oasis with a beautiful pool, water slide, and hot tub. The best part was the gas fire pit which was wonderful for relaxing around with our friends. There is a no outside noise after 9pm policy but that wasn’t a problem for us as we all go to bed early due to the kids lol.
The house itself was really spacious, enough rooms for each of the three couples to have their own room and bathroom with an additional room for each of the kids. The kitchen and dining room table were both big and accommodating as well. The house was well maintained and probably the best stocked rental I’ve ever been in, in terms of towels, linens, etc. The kitchen had tons of dishes and utensils, though not many extras of spices and things like that. Everything was generally picked up though there did seem to be a couple of spills from previous guests.
Kevin was super easy to communicate with and prompt with his responses to any questions we had. He was a great host and I would highly recommend. The location of the house was 15-20 minutes from any of the attractions we went to and close to the highway so access was easy.
I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to San Diego. The yard seriously made the trip and we spent about half of our time hanging out back there. It was heaven. Highly recommend this property and Kevin as a host :)

the house looked nothing like the pictures. The only rooms that were recognizable from the pictures were the kitchen and 2 of the bathrooms. 1 bedroom/pool room was a converted garage without air conditioning (and daylight shining all around the external door letting in hot air) which rendered it unusable. The number of signs with rules were overwhelming. While I understand the issue of plumbing, the signs were so menacing that my 10 year old grandson was afraid to wipe after a bowel movement-he was afraid he'd be in trouble.
the pool was the only redeeming factor. If it wasn't for that and the grandkids looking forward to the Zoo and Sea World, we would have left immediately-especially with the artificial turf layers still on site when we arrived 2 minutes before check in and proceeded to yell at us for being early. Not a good experience. I did not notify the owner, because the issues were not fixable and therefore a waste of time.....at the time of departure, when removing our food from the fridge, we found that both drawers were filled with 1 1/2 " of water...great way to pack for the return home.....

The house is nicely laid out and has plenty of room for a large group. Unfortunately the upkeep of the home is not great. And there is definitely not enough pans for cooking for a large group as there were only 2 small frying pans and 1 pot. Our check in was a little rough as the cleaners were a no show and while the host reached out to apologize and say they would give us some credit we never saw that. They did do their best to rush the clean and get us in, at the same time the water heater was leaking and flooded one of the rooms. We were without water for a couple hours at check in and we were unable to use the room (garage) where the pool table was because the smell from the wet carpet was too much. I also reached out about trash on our last day but never received a reply back. Hopefully the owners choose to spend some money to upkeep and fix what needs fixing especially with high nightly rate I just expected more!

The house is exactly like the pictures! So beautiful! The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful. There is plenty to do around the house! You don’t even have to leave the house. The backyard is an oasis! The pool hot tub slide and hammock chairs. Patio tv fire pit were all great! The only con is that the pipes are pretty old and it makes weird sounds when you turn the shower on and off.
Will stay here again!

Super cute home that can accommodate large parties of people. There were only 4 of us, plus our dogs, and so we only used half of the house! It is located in a low key, quiet neighborhood, but you are around the corner from a Westfield Shopping Center, and anywhere from 10-30 min drive to anything you may want to do in the San Diego area. The best part of the home is the backyard: great patio area with TV and grill, and a lovely salt water pool with slide and jacuzzi. Since we had our dogs with us, we stayed in for most of our stay, and everyone still had a great time. Owner is very responsive. We had a day in which the AC wasn't working properly, and with temperatures rising, we contacted him and he had someone out right away to fix it.

Definitely one of the best VRBO experiences that we’ve had. Kevin was very responsive and had someone follow up with us when we did reach out with a minor issue. Very appreciated!
The house itself is great! Kitchen is nice, plenty of space to cook, bedrooms are roomy and welcoming. The backyard is really the star of this property! Gorgeous saltwater pool, lots and lots of space for entertaining, grilling or relaxing by the fire pit!
The location is fantastic, it’s located around the corner from a mall (with a Target) and it’s in the middle of two highway exits, so no matter which direction you’re coming from, it’s super easy to get on and off the highway. Downtown is 15 minutes away, La Jolla is about 25 minutes away, it’s really easy driving!
Overall, we absolutely enjoyed our stay, we will definitely book again!

If you are looking for a well-kept and clean property to spend some time together with friends and family, this is the Vrbo for you. Kevin’s house boasts quite the oasis in the backyard with its pool, water slide, grill/lounge area, and hot tub. The pool is a salt water pool and can be heated by special request and for an additional fee during your stay. The hot tub does not have any temperature controls—it is either on or it is off—so it can get quite hot if allowed to stay on for longer periods of time. Regarding the heated pool, it may be a consideration if the air temperature is a bit on the crisper side so you don’t feel like a popsicle the moment you jump out of the pool. It’s not so hot that it feels like you’re stepping into a bath; rather, it’s just warm enough to help stave off that freezing feeling if the wind is blowing. The kitchen is not particularly well-stocked as far as cooking essentials (salt, pepper, etc.) or items for coffee (we bought and left behind coffee filters as well as some coffee) so be aware of this before your arrival. Luckily, the Target is a short distance away so you are not too far from any essentials potentially needed for your stay. The fifth bedroom in the back with the bunk beds is a converted garage and also has a pool table. One master suite does not have a door on the bathroom, while the other master suite that is next to the kitchen does have a door on the bathroom. The house has a nice modern feel to it with the light and bright color palette throughout. I highly recommend Kevin’s house for those traveling with large groups and kids; the kids and even the adults will enjoy the hours spent in the backyard pool area. If we come back to the San Diego area with as many people as we did on this trip, this Vrbo will be the first one I check for availability.

This is my second time staying here and we love it. Relaxing in the jacuzzi was the best. The home is very comfortable and beautiful.

The house is centrally located with quick access to the freeway and shopping, but feels quiet and secluded once you arrive. We had plenty of room, the outdoor living space is a terrific addition. The kitchen is large, with a gas range and large dining area. Beds were cozy and showers were HOT!
My favorite was the fruit trees and flowering bushes/vines that made the backyard smell amazing.
Constructive feedback is that the bathtubs/showers are extremely slippery with no grab bars, and there is an extra fee to heat the pool that is not disclosed in the original listing. But having the hot tub to unwind in after long days of walking made it worth the cost.
Overall we enjoyed our time and had everything needed for extended family to relax.

Overall a really good property at a reasonable price. It fit our party of 12 really well. The backyard space was nice to have for days we weren't running around San Diego. Location was good. I would definitely consider renting this VRBO again, but I would not pay for heating the pool again.
A couple of things to note...
The pool's heating element must need repair because the pool didn't heat and the hot tub didn't heat our last 2 nights. Requested a refund on the amount paid for heating, but it showed on the manager's App that the pool was being heated. No response to this request.
We had to purchase propane for the grill. I believe the missing 2nd tank was just an oversight, so I would suggest checking it when you get there if you intend to grill. I feel that if we would have had time to get a hold of the manager, he would have gotten a tank for us. However, we were in the middle of cooking dinner when tank #1 ran out.
The sheets on the king beds were not clean. I think this was an oversight as the manager was very apologetic. I assume the beds had been made by the previous renters leading the cleaning crew to believe they hadn't been slept in. Not a huge deal - there is washer/dryer and laundry soap at the house.
Minor things... The yard hadn't been cut down for awhile. I would recommend buying plasticware as we did not have enough forks for our group.
On our last day, we packed up the leftover food for the homeless. We visited Seaport Village before heading to the airport and left it on the sidewalk near the vehicle. We figured if no one picked it up we could toss it before we left. It was gone when we got back to the car. It would be nice of the property manager added a food drop location or recommendation of what to do with excess groceries. Just a thought! ;-)
2.5
It was fun and so relaxing staying at this home.
2.5
Would give this place 4.5 stars if that were an option. The house is nice for a big group and there are quality places to sleep plus it hits the affordability price point.
The only issue was that we requested the pool to be heated in advance (sent multiple messages), but it was not heated when we arrived. We had an issue trying to start the grill as a result of the pool heating using the gas. The host was responsive with the above issues.
The kitchen could have been a bit better stocked but it got the job done (we purchased a new frying pan from the nearby Target to use). Overall would recommend as a place to stay with a large group!
2.5
We truly enjoyed our stay in this home. It is very centrally located. The pool is amazing. Our kids spent almost the entire time in it. It was a great "home base" to attend the funeral that we came to San Diego to attend.
2.0
The place and location is great. It is close to everything. The neighborhood was quiet although the rules about quiet after 9 pm seemed too strict.
The AC was not working properly when we arrived and we spent a two nights uncomfortably warm. We were coming from the Northwest where we were getting temps in the 100s and this was supposed to be our getaway!. Fortunately the AC was fixed and it was more comfortable specially for the young grandkids. The garage was converted to sleeping quarters but the AC did not reach the garage. A window AC or even a fan would have been nice. We decided to forgo using the garage sleeping quarters and had the older kids sleep in the living room.
The pool was great and the gazebo outside was perfect especially with the big screen TV. You can lounge outside and stream something on the TV or spend a quiet afternoon reading a book.
The kitchen was good-sized for a big group but sorely lacking in some things. The house can host a big group but silverware, plates, coffee mugs and glasses were few. There were only a few pots and pans so cooking for a group was challenging..
Overall though, it was a great place for a family reunion. If they can make the improvements suggested, it would even be better. I would definitely consider going back with my family if the improvements were made. San Diego is a great place to visit. The weather is pleasant. The traffic isn"t as bad as Los Angeles. There are plenty of interesting places to explore. This house in Bonita and is a good place to have as a base.

We visited San Diego to spend some time with our kids who were being deployed. Location of this house is great! Communication with owner prior to renting was good … we did have a few things happen while there and I was in contact with owner at the time. I have tried a couple times after to speak with owner and it seems that he does not what to contact me. So in a nut shell here’s what our family thought of this VRBO. The pool is wonderful… the main part of the backyard is nice as well with bbq and fire pit. Inside the house is decent but the air conditioning does not work well at all…. It was very warm when we were there and it made sleeping very uncomfortable. We bought fans and even left one for the next guests. Cleanliness in my opinion could be better… surface areas were ok however ceiling and walls there were cobwebs and such hanging down. The last night we were there…. There was a very large rat found under the vanity in master bathroom… my husband and son were able to get it out but it’s not something that I want to find in a home. For the price of this house per night that we paid it’s definitely not what I would expect. All in all we had a great time because we were together however I would not stay here again. It was very disappointing and I really tried to speak with owner prior to leaving review and still have not heard from him. (It’s been over a month) also some of the rules that are left in a booklet at house differ from what you are sent prior to trip. Again these were the things that I wanted to talk to owner with but no such luck.

The house was great for the entire family. Kids had blast. So much for them to do. The property was clean. Kevin was absolutely amazing to work with. Would definitely stay there again.

Our priority was to find a place with a pool. The pool did not disappoint, we throughly enjoyed it. The pool table in the garage was a bonus.

The house was spacious and beautiful. A few hiccups with cleanliness but overall everything was amazing and communication with owner was excellent. Would stay here again.

This house was so well put together, it made our weekend so much fun! Kevin was great and very nice! The neighborhood was great a perfect, quiet place!
2.0
I overall enjoyed staying at this property but do feel there is room for improvement. My family and I stayed here during summer and enjoyed the pool but could not get the water slide or jacuzzi to work. Bummer. There is only one small AC vent for the kitchen, dining area and living room area which made for an uncomfortably warm common space, albeit during a heat wave.. However, everything was very clean, well stocked and was in a great location close to the mall and many eateries.
5.0
Place was amazing great location by the stores and mall, easy access to the interstates. Couldnt get the slide to work at all time but still had a blast.
