The Eliza Mae Cottage
Le chalet Eliza Mae est situé sur Muhlenberg Avenue, dans le charmant mont. Gretna. Il y a un parking dans la rue pour plusieurs voitures, y compris un abri à l'arrière du chalet. Les draps et les serviettes sont fournis ainsi que tous les produits en papier. Il y a un gril à charbon à l'arrière ainsi qu'un beau jardin de curé avec un banc. L'Eliza Mae dispose d'équipements modernes préservant le charme des cottages.

Beautiful cottage...room for all & still have some privacy. Very quiet neighborhood...we were probably the loud, rowdy ones. Owners were great w/information & readily accessible if needed.

We love staying at Eliza Mae Cottage in Mt Gretna. It is a quaint , well kept house with a lovely outdoors area that has fish pond in a beautiful setting of plants and flowers. The kitchen is very well stocked. The beds are very comfy and cozy. The porch is big and comfortable and a great place to sit and relax, read a book or have great conversations.

Great trip. House is very nice and clean. Host is on top of everything. Beds were perfect, window air conditioning was fine, bathroom shower and tub were perfect. Wi-if worked great.

We cannot express enough how wonderful our stay at Eliza May was this year!! We had the best time relaxing on the fantastic big porch. The evenings within this extraordinary community was like a step back through time. Between the neighbors and their amazing homes, it was magical, and we loved exploring. The house is immaculate and clean. Host Marianne has the gift of hosting. The bedding is beautiful, and the beds are so comfortable. The house was perfect to cook a meal and eat together Just far enough away from everything to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country yet close enough to drive into the city to enjoy all the amenities. This is our second year here and we would not hesitate to book this home again! I would come back again and again. Marianne was awesome to communicate with. I wish we had more time.

Our family has stayed at Marianne's cottage several times and we keep going back because it is a wonderful retreat! We enjoy cooking most of our meals at the cottage because the kitchen is well equipped. Our boys enjoy the fish pond and the large, beautiful backyard for playing. Marianne has thought of everything and is a phenomenal host! Highly recommend!

Traveled with my husband, my 2 year old and 7 year old, my brother and his 4 year old, and my parents. The area is beautiful and quiet. The house is so nice and cozy. My mom and daughter loved getting up early and sitting on the porch in the quiet reading at 6am. My daughter and nephew loved the fairy garden and they would leave "gifts" for the fairies. We cleaned it up at night, and they believed the fairies accepted their gifts. It was really cute. My daughter loved the porch swing and the swing in the back. The kids loved the toys that were already in the house also. Beds were cozy. Owner was very easy to communicate with. We loved Mt. Gretna. The hide-a-way had good food and the Jiggershop had good ice cream. The lake was so much fun! I would go back just for the lake! We loved our trip and the house and look forward to possible visiting again.

The house is great and decorated beautifully. I was able to meet the owner and she is lovely. Very low key, not a lot if 'rules' [i.e. washing the sheets/towels, making the bed up yourself, etc.] The porch is wonderful and there is parking.
I would highly recommend this rental.

Our family has been spending a week in Mount Gretna every year for the past 30 years. The makeup of the family has evolved as my sons grew up, got married, and had children. We have rented a variety of cottages, and have found the Eliza Mae to be the quintessential Mount Gretna cottage. We are booked again already for 2025, having spent the week there last week, the third year in the Eliza Mae. My husband, my sister, and my 90-year old mother stay for the week, and family visits throughout the week. That gives us the perfect balance of peace and fun! We not only love the porch for visiting, putting puzzles together, reading, eating, etc but find the garden in the back to be delightful too. My grandkids love to explore the garden looking for fairies under the leaves of the flowers, catching lightning bugs, and swinging on the swing. And of course going for walks and getting ice cream at the Jigger Shop is a delight.

Our family stayed but we were visited by extended family between 7 and 77 for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room and we all enjoyed the antiques and holiday decor. This is a sweet, homey location and there is attention paid to the needs of little ones. It also has a wonderfully equipped kitchen that was great for hosting. The kitchen is compact, but has everything from pie plates to platters to a dishwasher and washer and dryer as well as pantry basics. Our family cooks most meals together so the set up was just what we needed. We have stayed in vrbos from Louisiana to New York and this is one of our favorites. Many thanks to Marianne who checked on us regularly even though I always have a little trouble with Vrbo messaging. Many thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The town was like nothing I’ve ever seen only maybe in a movie or a storybook. I can’t describe in words how beautiful it was. You have to see in in person to believe it. The cottage was so beautiful and quaint. The porch was so relaxing. There was a koi pond and a magical fairy garden in front. The house had everything you could possibly need. I packed things I thought I would need to find everything there already! And the owner was so sweet! I would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend it to all my friends. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you for a wonderful time! We loved it!

This was our 3rd year staying at the Eliza Mae and we’l be back next year!! My sisters and I love the cottage. It feels like a 2nd home to us. The owners are the nicest people. If you’re in the area this cottage with the beautiful front porch is a must see!

We loved staying at Eliza Mae Cottage. I have 3 sisters and every Fall we choose a place to vacation together. This is our first year at Mt Gretna and we loved it ! The cottage was adorable with a wonderful porch, well stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and a great location. We had fun walking through Mt Gretna enjoying the shady streets and looking at all the unique cottages and gardens. Sitting on the porch reading, talking , reminiscing and laughing was great fun! We are a group of 4 friends celebrating our upcoming birthdays by enjoying an annual trip to Mt Gretna. Due to a mix up with our previous reservation, we ended up booking the Eliza Mae approximately 4 weeks before our arrival. Everything from the reservation process to the checkout was seamless. Marianne was very prompt with all communication. Every question was answered almost immediately. The home was exactly as the listing described. Charming.. extremely clean. The porch was the best part of the home. We spent so much time there relaxing and enjoying our few days away from the busyness of our daily lives. This home was the best stocked rental of any of our previous rentals. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The owner has taken great care to provide everything we could have possibly needed. We would definitely consider staying at the Eliza Mae again.

The Eliza Mae was the perfect place for a family to stay. It’s location was convenient to Hershey about 20 minutes. My husband and daughter went to a concert and we went to the park during our stay. Mt Gretna was such a wonderful lake community. We walked pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. The lake beach was so much fun. Marianne was an amazing host and her home did not disappoint. We all enjoyed the fabulous porch and her home had everything that we needed! My kids loved the pond and the fairy garden and all the attention from people passing by.

We love this lovely cottage at Mt Gretna! The porch is fantastic , we spend the majority of our time there talking, laughing , reading and reminiscing . It is surrounded with beautiful plants and a pretty little fish pond. There is even a fairy garden. The area where it is located is lovely, we had many enjoyable walks on the unique streets lined with beautiful older homes.
The kitchen is well stocked and we had fun cooking together. The Jigger ice cream shop is a short walking distance away. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing get away.

This weekend I hosted a party for my mother's 100th birthday and I needed a special place for 8 out-of-towners to stay - this cottage was perfect! Cute little cottage in Mt.Gretna. We used it as our home base for a trip to Hershey Park and we wished we had planned more time in the Mt. Gretna area. Owner was great and provided all the comforts needed for a stress free stay. The cottage fit three adults and four kids comfortably. It has beautiful gardens and the porch was perfect to relax on.

My summers as a child were spent in Mt. Gretna and I wanted to share the "Gretna experience" with my grandchildren. The cottage was perfect for our family, from the comfortable beds to the extremely well stocked kitchen. Loved the 4th of July bicycle parade, the children's summer theater performance and of course our visits to the Jigger Shop.The fish pond off the porch was another plus, the kids loved feeding the fish everyday. Our youngest grandchild ended the week by asking me to "promise we can come back to this house next year!"

This was our family's 3rd year staying at the charming Eliza Mae Cottage. Marianne and her husband do an outstanding job of making sure everything is clean, working, and in pristine condition. We love the location and the beautiful flower gardens in the front and back of the cottage. The porch could not be more fabulous as the attention to detail is amazing! This property exceeded our expectations. We have already begun planning our next annual trip, we made so many lasting memories in this quaint cottage. We loved that we could walk nearly anywhere for a quick bite or entertainment - my advice would be to find your way through the neighborhood, instead of attempting to walk main roads as there are no sidewalks. The cottage and Marianne were both so welcoming and we're excited to visit again.

This was our second year staying at the Eliza Mae, and we plan to make it our annual destination. The porch is not only beautiful, but cozy and comfortable too. Every bed is comfortable, allowing for a great night's sleep after a tough day of reading on the porch, walking, puzzling on the porch, and entertaining friends/family... on the porch! And when we go inside, there is plenty of cozy room to dine and relax there too.

Nice little size cottage for our family of five. It was nice to have a bedroom for each teenager. Everyone was spread out. The location was great for where we needed to be. It was a short drive no matter where we wanted to go. The host was wonderful and had everything that we needed for our stay.

This cottage was perfect for a long weekend with my family to celebrate my father's birthday. It had everything we needed and more! The cottage has the charm of older houses, but without downsides (plenty of electrical outlets, etc). We especially appreciated the extremely well-equipped kitchen, which is rare in my experience with vacation rentals. It was worth every penny!

There is a small little village to walk around as well as nature trails within walking distance.
We were able to cook a turkey dinner without any problems.
There was plenty of glassware for the holiday festivities.
The kids hung out on the porch which was enclosed for the cooler weather.

My sisters and I have been there twice and it’s becoming our yearly vacation spot. The cottage is cozy and Marianne makes sure your stay is perfect. There are cute towns with shopping near by. If you stay, you have to take time to sit on the front porch.
