We were running a cycling tour with guests from Australia and Canada so this hotel was perfect and catered so well for us with bikes.

The room was clean but did not smell fresh, perhaps due to the natural fibres of the tatami floor mats. Pillows were uncomfortable.

Not much - was very happy with my stay

The room was large (35m²). The bed was comfortable. There was also plenty of space to open and pack luggage. There was also a seating area with a table. The toilet and shower is clean and well-maintained. On weekday nights, the public indoor onsen is almost a private onsen as you get to use it with no other guests around. The breakfast is good and delicious. I would recommend getting the hotel breakfast as the nearest convenience store is around 15 minutes walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The bus that stops at the nearest bus stop to the acccommodation runs only until around 7/8pm. Therefore, if you travel by public transport only, you will have to walk around 1km (around 15 minutes) from Izu-Nagaoka station to the accommodation if you reach the station after 7/8pm.

Nice hotel with a cool focus on cycling and outdoor activities. Many bikes are available to rent even though we didn't end up using it due to rainy weather. All was clean and the room was spacious and very welcoming. The breakfast buffet and free drinks in the lobby were very nice, too.

Modern yet traditional. Beautiful interior with clean and spacious rooms. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from. Free drinks provided at the common area. A little sign outside the onsen to show people how crowded it is. Friendly and helpful staff who gave us lots of recommendations on places to visit. A delightful stay it is.

Carpark is a couple minutes walk away and parking costs 1000 yen / night. There is no elevator to the rooms & the dining area on 2/F.

Street noise

It is such a great place to stay, the design is really beautiful, everything was super clean, staff is great! It's our second time staying here and we would stay again. I think renting a bike here is in my opinion the best way to explore Izu. The staff suggested trips and the roads that are suitable for us, so we really enjoyed our time there. We tried bunk beds this time and they were actually really big and comfortable, so even though we were a bit skeptical, they turned out to be a great option as well. The onsen was great, clean and never busy.

In the dormitory the lockers are pretty small and there is no place to put big bagpacks, so just something that could be improved. In the end we kept them on the bed as the cubicle was big enough.

Hotel room is clean and beautiful. Hotel is contemporary style and really nice!

The renovated Showa Ryokan to Japanese modern (wa modern) feel was great, especially the aroma of fresh tatami! Staff were positive and friendly, very informative. Everything was clean and maintained. Breakfast was included, basic but tasty!
