All was excellent. The location was charming and in the middle of nature, the view is gorgeous, and the ambience very relaxing. Would definitely go again.
Unless you are keen to drive loads for all meals you have to eat at the restaurant, which gets a bit samesy as the menu is quite small (although delicious). Also service could have been quicker but we didn't really mind.

Amazing and relaxing atmosphere. Some people went the extra mile to make us happy. Definitely recommend the rooms with a view and small pool at the back. Lovely.
The only suggestion would be a slightly bigger menu option. We were there for 5 days and tried everything ;-)

Honestly everything was just excellent. The pool is fantastic, the spa is lovely and massages were very relaxing.
Its quiet while still having a nice vibe, the food was great and so were the drinks (cocktails in particular were delicious). It's now one of my favourite hotels and one of the best i have stayed in. I would 100% come back here. We also stayed at Terra Nostra in Furnas for 3 nights, and overall i would say i preferred Sensi by a decent amount.
We loved it all, only knock is that the massage treatments are quite pricey compared to others on the island

What an incredible stay! We met our friends here for a 6-night vacation from the US. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We truly became friends with the staff by the end of the trip. After a day out, we were always excited to return back to the bar for a nightcap and a board game in their bar. It truly felt like we were staying in someone’s home. It was cozy and the service was excellent. Food was delicious, amenities were beautiful, and staying in the remote part of the island was a true respite after a day of activities. Definitely need a car on your trip, and make that the next thing you book after this hotel! The hotel makes it so easy to book any excursions or a private boat. Also, don’t leave the hotel without a massage from Nudlin (sp?). Overall, a gem of a place!
Nothing!!

Nothing. It was perfect.

the entire property was beautifully designed and maintained and the staff was extremely nice and helpful.
the sense of lack of privacy for the villa was a little concerning and you had to keep blinds down most of the time however we also understand adding a fence or more plantings defeats the purpose of seeing the ocean. also it would be great if the villa had lounge chairs and a small plunge pool in the rear yard.

was very serene and beautiful setting. friendly staff and good amenities.
pool had to be booked only for one hour per day. was a frustrating process to manage and plan ahead. the kitchen was great and offered a good variety for breakfast, but the quality of the dinner was subpar relative to other options on the island relative to the price.

The hotel is beautiful and with a perfect location. We got an upgrade and the room was to die for. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful.
Breakfast and dinner were amazing!!
The inside pool and sauna have to be booked in advance and will only allow 1 booking per hour which limits a lot the availability.
The staff did try to compensate for the lack of availability with complementary drinks, which was very thoughtfull.

really special hotel. love the location, looking out over the ocean, no other houses in sight. the staff were exceptional. so friendly, helpful, patient and understanding. the rooms were great - beautifully and simply decorated; very comfortable beds (and even decent pillows which is often not the case!); plenty of hanging/shelf space - with a private deck with warm sitting pool.
the dining area and bar were also very tastefully and beautifully decorated with some of the owners' private collection of arts and crafts collected from around the world. the food was very good and made relaxing and spending time at the hotel worth it, which helped cuz we had a few lazy rainy days. but best of all were the cocktails made by a clearly very talented bartender working from a very well-stocked bar.
the spa area was almost brilliant - love the indoor salt pool, the outdoor infinity pool (great cold plunge after the sauna!), and the sauna was nice and hot (easily customisable; tho cedar wood would be nicer than pine). the spa treatments we had were all good (tho mine could have been deeper), and the setting and attention we received were top notch.
maybe some fresh fruit in the room fridge instead of candy? maybe use cedar wood in the sauna instead of pine for the walls, benches and floor. but those are very minor complaints.

Sensi is such a wonderful and quaint hotel with so much going for it! The staff are all wonderful people who go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. The rooms are spacious, clean, lovely, and comfortable. We had the ocean view with a private patio which was beautiful and there were always cows out to pasture in the distance and beautiful sunsets! Also, the hotel is a 30 minute drive from Sete Cidades which is where we spent most of our time!
They’re FOOD and DRINK! Fabulous. They have a delicious continental breakfast which includes the baked good of the day and they have a menu for additional breakfast staples. Their dinner is amazing, we had every dish they offered and loved all of it! They also have wonderful deserts, including the homemade butter cookies that are served with the tea and coffee (they wouldn’t give me the recipe though 😭). And lastly their cocktails are just wow! The Volcano is a must order, and the Monkey Man is so good if you like whiskey! We are sad we didn’t take advantage of the cocktail class they offer.
The massages are some of the best massages we have ever had, the masseuses actually read your body and figure out your meridians, pressure points, and misalignments and tailor the massage to what your body is telling them!
And lastly the private pool area is very nice with a lovely sauna and steam room. You have to book this for 1 hour increments though, so you have to plan ahead a bit if you want to enjoy the pool area.
I would say some negatives about the hotel are that the walls between rooms are very thin and you can hear full blown conversations that the other guests are having (or in our case be kept up late by a screaming sick baby). Also there is no coffee maker in the rooms!!! If you are big coffee lovers/addicts like us, it was so sad not having a coffee maker in the room, especially after coming from another hotel that had Nespresso machines in each room (Sensi, if you’re reading this… get Nespresso machines for your rooms!). Also you are a 35min drive from Ponta Delgada, so unless you plan on eating dinner at Sensi every night (which is fine since it’s so yummy!) it is a far drive to try the many wonderful dinner options in the city.

This is a beautiful, tranquil retreat. Gorgeous location, architecture, and decor. A tasteful blend of the old character and the modern amenities. Great breakfast with fruit, bread and cheese with option for special menu items. Dinner was equally delicious.

Everything was incredible! The room was perfect and the rest of the hotel was beautifully thought out. The staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful during our entire stay, ready to help fulfill any request. We really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast as well as some relaxing cocktails in the bar and by the pool. The hotel also offers stunning ocean views and serene grounds. Would highly recommend staying here if given the chance!

Amazing. The staff was so gentle and happy to help. We recommend especially Pedro, Sonia and Cristina. And the room was so wonderful. We had a unique experience and it was really worth each euro we paid. Thank you so much for giving us these exceptional stay. We hope to come back to room 10 for a longer stay. Thank you very much.

Great location, big stylish rooms, amazing views and facilities with overall very friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast is poorly organised, doesn't feature locale products (or only a few which contradicts the overall concept they sell) and doesn't allow any flexibility. Staff forgets orders or mixes them up. Buffet would be so much easier. Also the rooms despite of being big are not very practical.

Amazing location and hotel/grounds with unbelievable views and sunsets. The staff are so friendly and attentive. A wonderful place to have a luxurious and relaxing holiday.
