A very confortable guesthouse, one minute walking from Kabalana beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room spacious, new and clean, with a fast wifi connection! And an excellent, home-made breakfast.

Super nice staff, very friendly, polite and helpful. We informed them that the fan speed dial was faulty and they got it fixed on the same day. Drinking water was provided. Breakfast is excellent. Beautiful garden. Set back a little from the main road so it's very peaceful at night (though it's right next to the train tracks, so it's loud when the trains pass in the morning - but we didn't mind this at all because we got up early). Three minute walk to Kabalana beach, with plenty of surf rentals etc.

Great Hosts! They take care of all your needs during your stay. Motorbike Rental, organizing a TukTuk or giving you the exact times of planned power cuts (yes unfortunately the whole island was affected by this at the time of my trip). They serve a good breakfast and you have a choice for a western or classical tasty Sri Lankan Breakfast! Rooms are new and very clean with Hot Water, good AC and also great Wifi (working remotely from with it was possible). Very close to the Beach and a couple of good restaurants and bar (Trax).

The property is located next to railway tracks so at 5-6am the first train will start passing by which you will hear. Not a big problem for me since trains are not very frequent but maybe worth considering.

The people running the guest house are very helpful. They even went to town by scooter and brought me my charging cable, which I had forgotten in the room when checking out. Location, rooms, shower etc. are also very good for the price. Everything is clean and reasonably closed, so you do not have tons of insects in the room. The "normal" breakfast (toast, egg, butter) is nice, definitely try their slightly spicy omelet with vegetables. However, make sure to also ask them if they can serve some Sri Lankan breakfast, which is really, really good (we had many in Sri Lanka, but this was definitely one of the best!).

The wifi is okay, but if you have calls etc. then you should consider working from one of the cafés/co-working places in the area.

We stayed 3 nights in one of their beautiful rooms: super clean with minimalistic & stylish interior. The bed and its mattress assured the best sleep we‘ve had while traveling Sri Lanka over 4 weeks. Kamal, his whole family & staff are most welcoming and they make sure to help you with anything you ask for. They are the best! Really! <3 Prove: when we just asked where to buy some local Roti to eat in the neighbourhood, 15min later we found ourselves provided with delicious Roti & selfmade coconut bread from Kamal and his caring family. You‘ll find beautiful Kabalana beach within 2 minutes walking distance. Some restaurants in walking distance - for more you‘ll find Tuktuk rides everywhere or you ask Kamal to organize a scooter for you. We'll be back!

For us: nothing at all! Please be aware of the kinda noisy train that rides next to Sandil House a few times a day. It hasn’t been bothering us at all. I just want to mention it so future guests are aware and don’t ever dare to give negative reviews for this amazing place! ;)

we were three girls visiting Sri Lanka and we really enjoyed our stay at the Sandil House. the service and hospitality is implacable and the family is really sweet and helpful. The dad (who works there) goes out of his way to help us with everything we need and the room was very clean and beautiful. 10/10 would recommend staying here!

During our stay in the accommodation everything was just right. The whole family and the team welcomed us very affectionately. They were always available for questions and help. Also concerning the room everything was in the best condition. It was extremely clean, a very comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and a bright and beautiful interior design. The air conditioning made the stay a further highlight. Even though the main road is only a few meters away, the accommodation is surprisingly quiet. The breakfast varies daily and is lovingly prepared. On the first day we extended our stay for another 5 days. Definitely ten out of ten points. We have absolutely nothing to complain about. A little anecdote: we asked for a typical food of the country, which we unfortunately could not find on the island. The next day at breakfast, the family simply prepared this food for us. They have an eye for detail, keep everything clean, hang up wet laundry and are simply very obliging. We will definitely come back.

Very kind hosting family. Very helpful in every situation. The breakfast is very tasty. When I asked Kamal how Wood Apple taste, he directly jumped on his scooty and drove to the market to get some. Very good Juices. Yes there is a train next to the house - it did not bother us at all.

Lovely clean room. Just like in the pictures. Hosted by the most delightful family. Amazing host. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every moment. Sandil House is just a stones throw away from the beach yet affortable, clean and welcoming. Yummy brekkie. I would definitely stay again when in Ahangama.
