The location

To get there, if you don't arrive by car, there is no clear indicator as to where the hotel is, there is no streetlight so get ready to go in pitch darkness on a tiny paved road in the woods. We asked if there was an option for a late checkout and the staff said it was possible. We were at first happy to hear that. When we got back to the hotel, our luggage was in the hallway, outside of the room, leaving our belongings exposed to anybody that would pas the hall. We were shocked, we thought there'd be a luggage room. Never, in our dreams would we agree to this kind of setup if we knew the luggage would be placed there. There is no reception area, you enter directly in a stairway where on a piece of paper the staff indicates where your room and keys are. The staff is there in the morning, but not in the afternoon or evening. They wouldn't have where to sit anyways. The rooms are clean, but the furniture is old, the carpet on the stairs is held in place with duct tape. For a secluded location and basic amenities the price is kind of high. Even if the rooms have a peculiar smell, they added some lavender bags to make it more bearable.

The property has an amazing location near river. the room was comfortable. The service was really nice.

The location is absolutely great if you are going to visit Peles castle that is just up the hill. The central town street is no more than 15 minute stroll and the town park is only 5 minutes away. Very quiet, there is a small restaurant next door if you do not fancy walking into town proper.

Everything looked tired, the carpet on the way up to the room was dirty and torn ( a bit of a trip hazard, tbh), the bathtub had scuff marks and scratches, the heated towel rail was absolutely grimy(or rusty, not sure which would be worse), the toilet paper holder was not attached to the wall and kept falling off(was also rusty), the bathroom bin lid fell off the first time we tried to open the bin. We did not see any staff for the two nights we were staying there and had to actually call the property number off of booking.com to be told our room allocation was written on a piece of paper by the entrance to the building... which we overlooked to begin with, because it was scribbled with pen on an A4 and propped up on a settee?

Location is special, amazing landscape (it was still winter when we stayed there). Room was good size , clean and beds were comfortable.

Bathroom was ok, but a bit small and crowded However, price for a night's stay felt a bit high for overall experience.
