We really felt like we were in a film and this maison was a big part of that! Also a great location to base yourself when you want to tour around the area overall. 1-1.5 hrs’ drive in each direction from Lourmarin takes you to incredible parts of the region and those surrounding it. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing week in Lourmarin at Kris and Thierry’s adorable cottage - it was the perfect base to explore Provence. The little garden was so nice, location was perfect, and the big book of recommendations was very useful! Kris and Thierry were extremely easy to communicate with and very lovely all around. We would highly recommend and can’t wait to return to Provence!

Lourmarin is a beautiful village and a great jumping off point for trips to Bonnieux, Ansouis, Apt, Cucuron—-the best of Provence. It was hard not to feel like a local in this charming apartment that is 50 yards from the center of the village and less than that from a first rate Boulangerie
Hosts were super helpful!

Lourmarin is lovely town in the Provence. Idealy you can go by car to all the other places around the little and grand Lubéron. We went by Train (TGV) to Avignon very comfortably. Rent a car is then rechnendes. The house was nice and Thierry and Kristine, the housekeeper kindly. They helped us to visit more nice places. Mandy Thanks!!

Lourmarin is a great little village with an excellent market on Friday & a number of sociable cafes & restaurants & great arty shops. Very helpful hostess. The little cottage is ideally located but is very old fashioned. No smart TV, we had to ask for a boom box so we could listen to music & after rain, even heating the underground bedroom & leaving the window open it was musty smelling. Great little terrace which we enjoyed. Lots of house rules! Helpful but out of date travelling & exploring guide notes. A map & up to date guide book would have been helpful. Super expensive with 3 big add on costs over & above the standard rental cost. Beware!

The house was really nice, cozy, clean and well organized. The owners were quick and prompt to solve problems. Nice to mention that the bathroom is not to close from the room. It was an amazing stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Situated on the main street, just 2 minutes walk from the centre of the village, yet lovely and quiet. Small but beautiful courtyard/garden. I stayed here partly to work and the reliable internet connection made this very easy to do. Everything was as described on VRBO and everything worked. Excellent communication from hosts. Highly recommended.

Very charming place. We were staying there during a heatwave (36-37c) but hardly used the air condition, the bedroom stays nice and cool all the time. We enjoyed breakfast in the courtyard with the lovely green plants. The cottage is situated very conveniently near the centre of Lourmarin life. Thank you Kristine and Thierry!

What an amazing experience to live in Lourmarin in this superb cottage. We loved the style and care with which Kristine had prepared the property for our visit. It oozed attention to detail in all respects from the decor to the practical aspects and a very welcome bouteille de rosé. We loved our holiday home and would gladly return to the property set perfectly in the marvellous Lourmarin.

Great place to stay in and matches the description on the listing! Beautifully decorated, very well equipped, comfortable, easy check in & parking a few steps away (although Friday was a bit frustrating to park because of the weekly market).
Our Host, kristine made sure that our stay was stress free by giving us information on area and communicating with us prior and during our stay. Lourmarin is very special and one of the most beautiful village among many others in the stunning Luberon (with boutiques, restaurants and a wonderful atmosphere). We have heartily recommended the place to our friends and really look forward to our next visit next year. Thank you for having us!

Unfortunately, this was not at all what we were expecting, based on the fabulous reviews we had read. Just after we had arrived, we were told that there is a restaurant across the road which, during the month of August, has tables on the road directly outside of the courtyard. This was extremely noisy and intrusive, with loud, drunken behaviour continuing into the early hours of the morning, resulting in us getting no sleep. Therefore, we stayed for only one night as we were not prepared to let this spoil our holiday. This turned out to be very expensive for us and had we known about this beforehand, we wouldn't have made the booking.
We noticed that the sun doesn't reach the property until the afternoon so there are no sunny breakfasts in the courtyard.
On the plus side, this property is tastefully furnished and has a lot of character.
We are very sorry to have to write this but feel that people should be aware if planning to visit in August, especially if, like us, you are looking for somewhere peaceful.

We really enjoyed our stay at la Maison Amelie…It was our second time in Lourmarin but this time we wanted to be in the village for a different experience. We loved it!!.The house is very authentic, lovey decorated, extremely well equipped, clean and most comfortable. The king size bed was so comfy and having the A/C was a life savior during the heat wave we experienced that week! Kristine, the owner is the perfect, attentive host who went out of her way to make us feel welcomed…she was particularly helpful with her recommendations for restaurants and fun things to do in the region. she thought of every detail to make her guests feel at home!
We loved hanging out in the small private garden, perfect to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings before going to dinner at 9 (loved the food) or on a stroll thru the village. We ended up spending a lot of time at "Chez Gaby" (perfectly located) enjoying a coffee or « Aperitif » while watching the action of the village!! We are crazy about the Lourmarin friday morning market, the best in the region really, with its great atmosphere! Lourmarin is perfectly situated to visit the hilltop villages of the Luberon and beyond …we particularly enjoyed the beautiful villages of Bonnieux, Lacoste, and Ansouis where we highly recommend the restaurant « la closerie » a culinary experience with friendly and professional staff! we can ’t say enough about our stay at la maison Amelie, we feel very fortunate to have found this charming house in the center of the village and we can't wait to come back!

We LOVED our stay @ MAISON AMELIE IN LOURMARIN! Perfect place for 2 with a darling private terrace to enjoy morning coffee, an afternoon picnic, a glass of wine etc. We didn't think the photos on VRBO did it justice! We didn't cook but there was a good-sized fridge and gas stove that would make it easy to make a home cooked meal. Having a washing machine and dishwasher were a bonus! There are a good number of restaurants within walking distance, there a many hilltop towns to visit a short drive away and the Lourmarin Market is to die for! (the best we came across!). The owners, Kristine & Thierry were excellent at responding to our questions from the time of booking and throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this property to friends and family!

Everything was exactly as per the web site and we were not disappointed The accommodation was superb, so much so that we have already booked for two weeks next year.
The house was perfectly situated in the centre of Lourmarin. When you walked through gate into the street everything that you needed was on hand, plenty restaurants, bars and cafes.
We ate at La Recreation (excellent local cuisine) and Le Numero 9 for our wedding anniversary and we were impressed. Just for a drink go to Cafe Gaby great for people watching
The market on a Friday is awesome and not to be missed. Also try the farmers market on a Tuesday, the variety was impressive we can recommend the mussels and enjoy them in the garden with a glass of the local wine.
The surrounding area was a delight to explore and cannot wait to do it all again.
Thanks to Kristine and Thierry for the experience. The house, village and surrounding areas ticked all our boxes and will not disappoint you.

My wife and I spent 5 nights in Lourmarin and we had the BEST time. Not only is the village classically Provençal, but this home is very, very special.
First off, it is located in the heart of the village -- all of the restaurants and shops are no more than a 5-minute walk. And if driving is more your thing, there are many other villages within a 20-minute drive.
Moreover, the house has all of the charm of the old-world and all of the conveniences of the new-world -- WiFi, air conditioning, a gas stove, dish washer, washing machine, etc.
Additionally, Kristine and Thierry have gone out of their way to provide very helpful suggestions and instructions.
Really, I cannot recommend this home highly enough. As I wrote in the title of this review, it is a special home in a special place.
Thank you, Kristine and Thierry for a wonderful, wonderful week!!!

My partner and I recently had occasion to spend a few days of our vacation in lovely Lourmarin, located approximately an hour south and east of Avignon in southern France. While there we stayed in this lovely property owned and operated by Kristine Marc. The property itself was perfect for us with kitchen facilities, laundry, a comfortable sitting area, and large master bedroom along with an intimate, relaxing private courtyard for morning coffee or afternoon wine . Lourmarin, although a small village has plenty to offer, including good restaurants, coffee shops, fresh pastries, interesting food and artisan markets, as well as art studios and shops. The other appealing feature of the village was its close proximity to a number of other small towns in the region, all of which were quite interesting to visit and explore. Looking forward to going back soon !

This cottage is truly a delight - and right in the center of Lourmarin, one of the most beautiful villages in Provence. The area of the Luberon, in which it is situated, is one of the most picturesque in all of the world. Lourmarin is an ideal place to have either an active or restful vacation and this cottage allows for both.
I have stayed here a few times and the hostess, Kristine, is a delight - a French native who speaks perfect English. She has restored and decorated this charming cottage tastefully and practically. One can cook delicious meals in the kitchen and eat in the garden patio - or make the most of the restaurants just a few steps away. The beds are very comfortable. There are some well selected CDs for your musical pleasure. It is a treat just to sit in the lovely living area, listen to music and drink some of the local wine. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and is amply supplied with fluffy towels. You can easily reach the cottage by bus or if you have a vehicle, there is plenty of parking available on the street. Kristine is more than happy to answer any of your questions and is always ready to give you suggestions on where to dine, what to do or how to enjoy la vie de Provence!
