Old School Beach House
À seulement deux heures de route de Melbourne, Old School Beach House à Venus Bay est l'endroit idéal pour les week-ends romantiques, les vacances en famille et le temps avec les amis. La maison d'école joliment meublée de 120 ans dispose d'un toit à pignon, de murs en bois lambrissés et de parquet, complétée par une petite extension qui comprend 3 chambres, une salle à manger et une salle de bain / buanderie.
La maison élégamment aménagée a un vide décontracté et luxueux. Le salon principal est inondé de lumière naturelle et comprend un salon confortable, TV, DVD, haut-parleurs Bluetooth et chauffage au gaz pour les mois plus frais.
La cuisine attenante est entièrement équipée avec un réfrigérateur avec congélateur, un four / cuisinière, un lave-vaisselle, un four micro-ondes, un grille-pain, une machine à café KitchenAid et un garde-manger unique à thème Schoolhouse, qui répond à tous vos besoins en matière de restauration gastronomique et de vin.
La chambre principale et la seconde chambre sont équipées de lits queen-size et de portes coulissantes menant du sol au plafond qui peuvent être ouvertes sur la cour arrière. Détendez-vous, restez au lit et admirez la vue sur le jardin d’arbres à thé, sur la réserve côtière de Cape Liptrap et sur les dunes de sable, et écoutez le whipbird originaire de l’Est et les vagues de l’océan.
La troisième chambre a une double couchette plus un matelas à roulettes. C'est une salle amusante pour accueillir les enfants et peut également accueillir confortablement un troisième couple.
La salle de bains / buanderie fournit des toilettes, une douche ouverte, une vanité et une machine à laver. Toutes les exigences de base en matière de blanchisserie, telles que fer à repasser, planche à repasser, paniers à linge, etc., sont disponibles pour votre confort. Une corde à linge est également fixée sur le côté de la maison, ce qui est particulièrement utile pour sécher les serviettes de plage à la fin d'une journée sur la plage.
La cour intérieure naturelle abrite de magnifiques plantes indigènes, des arbres à thé et dispose d'un barbecue au gaz et d'une douche extérieure. Everything was exactly as advertised and Michelle was just great in taking me through the set up when we arrived after dark. Nothing was too much trouble. Despite the bucket loads of rain, we got some quick visits in to some local spots, yummy town cafe and a walk to the beach but were very glad to return to a lovely warm house each time. Thank you for providing a great space to stay in.

We had a great stay in this gorgeous cottage. It was warm and cosy on a couple of chilly nights, within walking distance to the shops and beach. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you to Michelle for being so accommodating with our last minute change.

Michelle the host was excellent and very engaging. We arrived to a handwritten note and a bottle of wine. I loved how the property had been modernised on the inside but had kept some of the old features too. The house is beautifully decorated and feels like a home away from home. Because the gas and electricity was turned off when we arrived which is understandable, the hot water took a few hours to heat up from the water tank so don’t expect a warm shower when you arrive.
We had a wonderful weekend and would absolutely recommend the old schoolhouse and Venus Bay beach:
We also went to the shell museum at Inverloch which is a short drive away and well worth the the $2 donation per person which contributes to the upkeep of the museum.

We really enjoyed our stay - cosy nights and many, many trips down to Venus Bay beach, along a lovely path through beautiful flowering scrub. The house is well equipped, with comfy beds and a very pretty outdoor area.

Cosy, inviting and comfortable
Thank you for our stay at your Old Schoolhouse Beach home. The home is inviting and very very cute. Cleverly designed add on to the old schoolhouse. The home had everything we needed for a lovely stay. My kids particularly enjoyed exploring the path from the backyard to the beach, about a 10 minute stroll. The location of the house was great. Walking distance to town. Even in the middle of winter, the home was warm and inviting after a day exploring local beaches and walking trails. Bedding was comfy and kitchen had everything we needed to cook up meals for my forever hungry teenage boys. Thank you again. I will be recommending the schoolhouse to friends and family.

A great nature based getaway
The old school house has been well cared for and thoughtfully renovated. The backyard with swing & fairy lights got 2 thumbs up from the kids for tree climbing and cubby building (even in the rain!). Michelle was very helpful and responsive. Overall a cosy, warm and comfortable stay, we highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time and only wished we had longer. The sofas were super comfortable and we really enjoyed relaxing in the beautifully decorated and restful space. The location is perfect for walking down to the beach via a lovely track out the back gate. It is also within easy walking distance of the shops.

Gorgeous home away from home in Venus Bay
Loved the property and aesthetics! We thought we would be cold at night in bed with only one doona, but the quality was there and it was all we needed to stay warm. No storage for your clothes in any room at all, but for a weekend away it's not a big deal. The 2 heaters heated up the whole house very quickly and we had hot water in a few hours. Lot's of pantry staples. The outdoor area is just beautiful, we would have loved a fire pit to top it off. It was about a 15 walk-lot's of it uphill to the beach from the back gate, and it was well worth it. The beach is stunning.
The locals and people staying in Venus bay were all really friendly and helpful. Close to Wilson's Prom to do a few day trips. Overall a really beautiful place to stay! Thank you!

Really gorgeous property
We loved our stay at the Old School house. It has been really well renovated and has everything you need with some very stylish touches. Excellent location too— a short walk to the shops and a lovely path to the beach.

Wonderful and relaxing stay
Perfect location to get away from it all and relax. The old school house was just perfect and provided the perfect destination to celebrate a special birthday with my family. Michelle was a tremendous host and always provided very prompt communication. Highly recommend.

Charming property in a great location
We had a great stay at this lovely old school house that has been renovated into a cute beach house. The beds were comfortable, but maybe for a longer stay there could have been better storage for clothing . The bathroom shower had plenty of hot water with great water pressure. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. The property had good heating options for those cold days and night's. The back yard was great with fairy lights and good outside seating options . We were treated with some of the local flora and fauna and the track to the beach was a bit of fun for us all . It was also a welcome and lovely touch to see a nice bottle of red wine waiting for us on arrival. Our host Michelle was great to deal with . We would love to stay again .

Top Marks for the School House
This is an ideal seaside retreat with a beautiful beach just a short walk from the back gate. The backyard is easy living with a great outdoor table and ancient ti trees that are home to a delightful collection of bird life. The school house is well equipped with kitchen and dining needs, the beds are comfortable and everything is clean and tidy. Michelle and Justin were excellent communicators and very understanding when, due to lockdown restrictions, we had to change dates. Loved it!

Wonderful short break, really enjoyed the property and proximity to heaps of worthwhile day trips. Particularly enjoyed the adventure out the back gate to the beach, and the go carts at Stony Creek.

Perfect break
A beautiful, comfortably fitted out property was perfect for our family to relax for a few nights.
We enjoyed the short walks to the beach, into town for (great) ribs and pizza, and kangaroo, rabbit and wombat sightings.
Our daughter loved the beach-themed books and the toys kept her amused too.
Michelle the host was exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
Highly recommend and hoping we can get back for a second visit soon.

I loved everything about this property!! I loved the quiet location with access to the beach & the interior was so stylish & comfortable. Communication was superb. Every amenity we needed was there to make our stay the best weekend we could have ever wished for. Loved it! We didn’t want to leave!

Our family loved our little winter getaway here. The house was warm, clean, homely & full of character. Kid's loved racing down the beach track multiple times each day. Michelle was a great host and the whole booking was very easy. Can't wait to go back

Backs on to beach reserve
Wonderful location - it backs straight onto the beach reserve with a 15 min walk from the back gate to the beach. The host was very friendly and sorted out a minor issue when we arrived very promptly. Clean and basic beach shack.

A rest after covid
We were looking at having a break and wanted to be fairly close to home given the constant covid outbreaks. Saw the listing for the old schoolhouse and jumped at it. Great location as it is near the beach and you can hear the ocean especially at night. Lovely facilities and great to relax in. Suited us pergectly

great house just by the dunes
Homely house with very pleasant oldschool front room/kitchen, backing up straight onto the dunes, so the beach is accessible via a beautiful nature path in under 10 mins from a little gate in the back gradren. Would stay again anytime.

A fantastic stay!
Perfect place to kick back and relax at Venus Bay. Lovely beach-house vibe that suited my family very well, from comfortable bedrooms to the cozy living room, and the full kitchen amenities available to us made our stay incredibly comfortable. Back to school
The School House is a lovely place to have your getaway. The back garden has a large amount of native vegetation with lots of birds and backs up onto the dunes. Lovely hosts with good communication who want to ensure their guests have a great time.

Restful and happy.
Very comfortable and had all necessities with a few nice and thoughtful extra touches. Perhaps a shower curtain might be a comfortable addition though. Very pleased with our stay and loved the beach access especially.

Total delight!
This was such a perfect break for us, gorgeous quirky school house thoughtfully renovated and equipped, coastal bush at the back gate, lovely walk through the coastal park to the beach, and a great backyard for BBQs. I especially loved the sculptural tea trees, all the native plants, and the birds!!!!
