Everything. Isaac the concierge was excellent. The manager also. They solved all my problems! This is an excepcional hotel. The Spa is just perfect!

After two weeks round trip in Panamá, I decided to stay at the Santa Maria, and spend the last day on Panamá in a beautiful hotel. The Santa Maria fulfilled totally my expectations and the ones of my family. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was wonderful and the food at Mestizo restaurant has a wonderful selection of Panamanian and international food. The personal is very polite and helpful. I dont understand many of the negative comments from others guests regarding the personal. They might be slow and not all of them can speak perfectly English but remember that you are in a Spanish speaking country and will be a good idea to learn Spanish too! I speak 4 languages and travels around the world and when I am in an new country, I try to speak the language… that is also part of traveling. The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms is a dream. The hotel is located far from other attractions but you have close shopping malls, hospitals, cinemas, and sports centers. We will definitely come back and hope the standard and infrastructure of the hotel will be well maintained.

The Spa in the basement smelled a bit humid but this is something with which we all struggle in Panamá. But the sauna and the massage and personal were very good. We visited the country club and played some tennis but the ladies at the reception were not very welcoming. We reserved two courts as we are a family of four, who played tennis seriously and when we arrived there, we were supposed to play only on one court because this was a “ country club” and doesnt bellow to the hotel and as guests of the hotel we are only allowed to book one and there was tennis training at 11:00 o’ clock, which was a lie. It seems like, we were begging to play there instead of paying for playing tennis. For our standards, the rackets were very old and the strings were done extremely wrong. If feels like playing with a fry pan and the water tanks on the court had insects inside. For people who played tennis seriously this is not a country club the worth visited or paying 56€ for old rackets and also old tennis balls ( yes also tennis balls get old, even when the van is not open) . We were actually testing this country club, to continue the tennis training of our son during our future stays in Panamá but it fails.

Lovely place for different kinds of travelers. If you are interesting in golf this place is the best. Good fields, polite staff. We like this place and will go back again.

The service provided was the best we have ever experienced. This includes travel experiences and stays in Canada, the US and Europe.

Distance from the city, (Casco Viejo, the Amador Causeway, etc.) was problematic for us

Breakfast is superb! Other meals - menu is limited. Some items are excellent. Not as large a variety as I would like. Pool, Health Club, Facilities are all ecellent.

I had a hard time communicating with the staff, as most did not speak English.

I really like the location as the property was quiet and in a nice area but also close to the city, which was only a 10 minute drive.

Some of the dishes where too salty, such as the Gnocchi sauce and the pork in the Asian steam buns. However, I really enjoyed the breakfast, the short ribs and the chicken wings were fantastic!
