Bed extremely comfortable, so slept very well.
£10 per night car park charge was an unwelcome 'extra'.
Not realising it before arrival meant it felt like a penalty charge.
Left an annoying memory.
Would prefer the £10 was included in the per night stay cost.
E.g increase day rates by £10 but discount non-car users by £10 per night if "travelling green" by rail, coach, on foot (=dropped off by friend?) etc. Would then be able to say that the hotel is doing its bit to reduce Solihull's carbon footprint.

Very stylish, smaller and intimate, very clean in bedrooms and communal areas.
Only dropping one point because the crockery at breakfast was a little dirty, some cups with fresh stains (rings) still in them. I’m prepared to put it down to an “off day”. Otherwise excellent. Oh one last thing… please put salmon on your breakfast menu for pescatarians.

The receptionist did not inform us regarding the lack of water situation before going to the room. Had a mad dash to get ready for our event

Good extensive breakfast menu.
Limited choice on prepaid Dinner menu.
Only one staff member with English as first language.
Reluctant to take cash.
We shall not be returning because hotel is going cashless.

The room was lovely and the shower was really nice. Plenty of tea/ coffee in the room. Any questions were answered by staff. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Close to town and I enjoyed the event I went to. I would stay here again.
Nothing major. I think the spa facilities could do with a bit of a refurb or just sprucing up a bit to match the rest ofvthe hotel but it was adequate and I enjoyed the jacuzzi.

Good facilities, comfortable bed, lovely staff
It really wasn’t warm enough. The dining room in particular was quite cold

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.
Our room was on the back of the hotel and the roof of the generator building looked very dirty and broken down.

The room was lovely. And it's in a good location
I didn't like all the industrial units outside my bedroom window it's a constant humming noise.

Lovely suite, bar, location, friendly staff
Asked at reception to have bathroom cleaned before my return as hair all over bathroom floor and one in bath, and conditioner bottle not working so asked for it to be replaced. On return wasn’t sorted. Dinner included but found it mediocre and ate out second night as didn’t fancy same again. Breakfast though tasty was served on cold plates so my food didn’t stay warm and some of the hot food had got a bit cold in the trays as I had a late breakfast (45mins before closing)

I booked for my son’s 18th with his girlfriend. They were made to feel welcome & loved they stay.
Amazing shower, just WOW!!

The hotel was spotless throughout. The rooms were really comfortable & staff were absolutely fantastic - nothing was too much trouble & they were so friendly & helpful. Breakfast was excellent too. We will definitely be back!
The wardrobe was insufficient for people staying for longer than a few nights. We managed as we lived out of our suitcases & not the end of the world!

I wish we have to pay less so that we can go again.

I enjoyed the leisure centre and the bed was very comfy!
Lots of Christmas parties going on, so very noisy at night. This is unavoidable. Staff friendly and leisure centre peaceful and relaxing.

Nice clean, modern hotel.Lovely room. We booked diner, bed and breakfast and it was excellent value. The evening meal was outstanding and the breakfast was way above average. Overall a great stay.
Some of the staff were a bit grumpy and inexperienced.
Spa could do with a freshen up.

We paid for the deluxe room which was meant to include a king size bed however we was put in a single normal room for me and my partner. We tried contacting the receptionist 6 times on our phones as the phone in the room did not work. We accepted that was our room after showering the air con was playing up which was a horrible feeling after showering as we was freezing cold due to the air con. we then had to go to the reception and explain what happened they then told us booking.com does not do deluxe rooms to book for their hotel. We then had to show proof of paying for the deluxe room and then was granted another room where we was told we would have wifi but we didnt.

could not fault anything

the bed was comfy. also bottled water and coffee/tea facilities were complementary . they were refreshed each day. I liked the personal attention at reception and the fact that there was written information in the room and a bedside telephone in room to reception. At another hotel recently visited in Birmingham, reception was a digital robot accessed through an app. The robot did not understand English !
Bedside lamp did not work, it was not the bulb as I swapped them, so electrical fault. I did report it.
4.5
Best part of the hotel was the people and cleanliness, staff at the desk were amazing
Only thing that was uncomfortable was the pillows, but it's a minot in comparison to how nice the staff were

First of all, the location of the hotel is great, it's also the main reason why I chose to stay at this hotel. It's just a 10 minute walk from Solihull Station which was extremely helpful for me as I would be travelling to and from the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham by train during my stay. The hotel looks great both inside and out and is clearly kept very clean. I was very happy with the look and cleanliness of my room along with it's facilities, it gave me a nice cosy, homely vibe. Finally, I thought all the food that I ate tasted great, especially the breakfast that I had.
I personally thought that the beds were a tad bit hard, the food was overpriced (not breakfast), there was a severe lack of food available to eat at night via room service (only four choices on the menu) and I didn't like the fact that my shower gel/body wash wasn't restocked before my stay meaning that there was only a tiny amount left in it for me to use. However, the absolute worst thing about this hotel is the lacklustre customer service mainly at reception. Staff there were unhelpful and never bothered to smile once when I came to see them. The unfriendly staff combined with the fact that I paid £299 for just one night in a Twin Room meant that I didn't have the greatest stay here. I do however think my experience was more positive than negative, but that was mainly down to both the location of the hotel along with the room I stayed in which as I said before was great. That being said, if I ever need accommodation in or around Birmingham again, I most likely will not be returning to this one.

Good location close to the NEC
I expected more from a VOCO, my expectations were based on the VOCO st David’s Cardiff which is a wonderful hotel.
4.0
Fiendly staff, lovely comfortable bed, large walk-in shower, complementary bottled water. Fresh clean room with the exception of the few minor things listed, which didn't impact at all on my stay.
Piped music, too loud and not ambient enough!
The bathroom door needed either a proper clean or fresh coat of paint, the wall to the left of the bathroom mirror was stained and there was a little black mound around the window casement.

Free drink for revisiting a nice touch!
Cushion coming away on the bed

The pool was more of a local leisure centre so wasn’t in keeping with the nice level of the hotel.
