Very good breakfast in a nice room with a view over the Rhine river. Cosy atmosphere in the hotel and the staff was very friendly and nice to me. Could also put my bike in a separate shed over the night.

Location was next to the rhein which made for a nice view. There was free parking and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was okay.
Very outdated room which smelled moldy. Matras and pillow were very thin, had a hard time sleeping because the building was very noisy (you could hear people coming up and down the stairs and hear them talk). 260 euros for 2 nights was pricey and not worth it.

Everything was excellent.

Very nice staff
We had princess room with river view
Lots of artworks on walls
Pets are allowed (10 euros extra)
Quiet and lovely neighborhood
Free parking
Good shower
Electric kettle, minibar and heating in the room
Old house but in good condition, new windows
Soundproofing of rooms could be improved
And pillows could be better
Please note that there are stairs and no elevator - if it’s important for you
If you have a cat - better to check with reception, I’m not sure if they are welcomed

very nice guesthouse, very friendly and helpful staff. It’s located close to Cologne and Dusseldorf so it is convenient to travel by car. Room was big and clean. I recommend this place.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The art was beautiful, and the animals were a wonderful touch! Breakfast was great. It was a beautiful building.
Bathrooms definitely could have been cleaned better- there were hairs from someone shaving on the sink when we got there. The furniture is also in need of updates- very low beds that weren't very comfortable.

I had a fantastic view of the Rhine from my room, the guest house is in a lovely quiet and friendly neighbours beside a marina. The room was a fantastic size with a mini bar. My room and the whole guest house was very clean and the staff are really nice helpful and friendly and gave me a very warm welcome. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good night sleep. The welcome pack in the room is a lovely touch. Plenty of on street party during my stay which was free. Nice area to walk and cycle.

The garden, courtyard and breakfast very good. Also the art
They kept the hotel at 22+ degrees which made it uncomfortably hot. I asked them why they heat it so much in a time of crisis when it isn't even needed. It's actually not good to be so hot and the woman replied she was cold although she was wearing a sweater and scarf.

Location was fantastic overlooking the Rhine River. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection available. Has an area to go and relax and with a family and small children was very welcome.
Wasn't anything that we didn't like.

It is something different and it made my day with a smile from early morning... you see birds inside and you get a good breakfast, then you do not see a problem you do not get bathroom directly in the room...it is lovely place in quite area with pizzeria in a block nearby... I enjoy it, it is just different and lovely.
if you insist on bathroom in your room... then my room would not fit it... but it was clean and just across form door to door... not real issue, but only I can comment, I miseed once booking, I can live with it.

The room and bathroom were huge and clean, lovely view on the interior garden with some beautiful exotic birds (a bit of a pleasant surprise). You can have a nice walk along the Rhine River which is a few steps away.
The house itself is a nice old rustic style but this makes it very squeaky and you can hear every step or talks that the other guests do... took some time for me to be able to fall asleep.

It is an ancient and charming mansion, which makes it special. Also its location on the banks of the Rhein river is a plus, also considering that the banks there are like a park with nice facilities, coffee places and biergarten.
Pity that I couldn’t stay longer this time around, I’ll certainly be back!

The staff was friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety given the small number of people having breakfast there. The house and garden are very interesting - quite old and beautiful, with lots of animals (ducks, rabbits, parrots, turtles, fish). There is also a playgrpund area in the back which would have been great for our kids, were it more clean.
The entire place is special and could be great of renovated or at least more clean. The rooms were also dated and the beds not very comfortable. We saw some insects hanging around on the ceiling and some spider webs, which showed once again that the place could be cleaned better.

Great location with quick, easy access to Köln city centre by car (20mins-ish), excellent Italian restaurant Ristorante Peperoncino walking distance away.
UPDATE POST RESPONSE FROM HOTEL:
They're "sorry" we were woken up at 6:30am by their "art exhibition" preparations. Apparently we were directed to a local bakery for breakfast -- that is aprox 4km away, not local at all. No mention of the uncomfortable bed or barely being able to stand up in the bathroom.
In future at the time of booking they will let guests know an "event" will be occurring that will likely cause disturbances. Obviously the guests will have a chance to book elsewhere.
In this instance they have point blank refused to refund any of the money they took despite admitting they had not provided the advertised stay.
BOOK ELSEWHERE, THE HOTEL HAS NO MORAL OBLIGATION TO ITS' CLIENTS!
Noisy building being run as 1/2 hotel, 1/2 conference centre/art gallery/social gathering space etc. Cute but in very DIY condition, extremely uncomfortable bed, we could barely stand up in the bathroom & the shower was constantly hot/cold, parking not on-site it is on the street. No prior notification at all that they were having an Art exhibition/sale on the Sunday morning. This meant no breakfast service & we were rudely awoken at 6:30am by the preparations. That knowledge alone would have had us book elsewhere, given we were looking for quiet, peaceful accommodation. As per many of these types of "quirky" hotels, the current business model appears to be pretend you're something you're not & when guests complain declare that you're "so sorry" & "we listen to criticism, we'll try harder next time" etc. I'm not the least bit interested in spending time negotiating with staff in-situ to try & move rooms or get an acceptable bed, these things should already be in place. I haven't mentioned anything in this review that hasn't been brought up in the past by multiple guests, clearly the message just isn't getting through.

Beautiful location and room
Parking was difficult to find, couldn't reach the property by phone, at times very loud noises outside my room

It was not the first time I stayed in Art Hotel on the Rhine. But unfortunately, last time staff without announcement exchanged room I booked with another one close to the kitchen and stairs. The room was just on the crossroad of the house and I could not sleep and rest because it was too loud.

I was looking for a nice place to stay for a night - and discovered so much more. The art gallery scattered throughout the hotel is exquisite (and I ended up buying a really nice sculpture). But there is also a small zoo in the back yard, with some really pretty animals. There is a meditation retreat. There is the river Rhine next door for some long walks. Highly recommended!
Be aware that the hotel is a historic building, so don't expect a hyper-modern experience. Some creaky stairs included. :)
