There was no host checking me in. Instead 2 young bartenders helped to check me in and thankfully carried my luggage upstairs. No elevator. It is very important to point out that this is not a room to be shared by two people because there is very little privacy in the bathroom area. You can see the tub from the bed and there’s no bathroom door to shut in the toilet. It’s a swinging glass door with a large hole where the door knob should be. It’s great for one person

The noise in the morning from the deliveries at 0630. The crashing and banging of goods on the stair well my roo. Was at the top of. Then the laundry mand blocking the access with his stuff. The fact the chef did not turn in on time for start of breakfast. I was fortunate this time I did not has to go to work early. I returned about an hour later and had a nice cooked breakfast when the chef came in. No receipt has ever been sent despite promises it would be. The toilet cubical in the room could do with the walls cleaning. Small touch. The wooden floor appears dirty and attracts dust etc in the gaps. Come on its a good hotel shake it up a bit will you.

Room was beautiful and felt very special. The breakfast was exceptional.

The location

No proper en-suite, breakfast service terrible, told breakfast served until 11am, but everything was cleared away by 10am, food was awful, burnt bacon, hard boiled poached eggs, mushroom very old and should have been binned days before.

We liked the quirky yet comfortable feel of the place. We are in favour of repurposing and pleased to see many Victorian and old items reused. We liked the location with just a short walk to the centre. The bed was comfortable, lighting adequate , power points and WiFi good enough. The staff were friendly. Room 11 was quite quiet and we weren't unduly disturbed by squeaks and creaks from floorboards in and outside the room. We had two breakfasts and one evening meal and found all to be enjoyable. I was concerned about parking but we didn't have a problem.

We are not prudish but we did find the virtually see-through toilet door and free standing bath in the room a little unappealing. We have stayed elsewhere in a similar room but they provided a simple fold-away screen. Perhaps one could be provided in room 11 for those more embarrassing moments !

Unfortunately we had a very real fire alarm at 7:30 in the morning on a very cold day no instructions received from the staff at all, no checking to make sure all the guests were safe, turned out to be a false alarm

Liked everything, hospitality polite, thoughtful helpful. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.

All the furniture was in keeping with the period theme, the bed was too creaky and didn’t actually fit the frame. Still a nice big bed though.

the shower and behind the wash basins was disgusting I called for a manager to come to the room, I was told the he would report to his manager, there was no other room suitable to offer, so far I have not heard anything from them. 😡

The hotel is beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. Convenient location to a party we attended nearby.

The rooms are incredibly small. So small, in fact, that the toilet is built into a translucent glass box in the corner of the room. This leaves no privacy when nature calls and, even after many years together, made myself and my husband feel uncomfortable. Looking back on the photographs of the rooms, this wasn’t entirely clear, otherwise we wouldn’t have booked. As an old building, the rooms are not very sound-proofed so we could hear every single person coming up or down the stairs all night.

Great boutique hotel, bar and restaurant. Quirky rooms. Our second visit. Breakfast is top notch.

Being picky.... . Didn't seem to know we were a returning customer. "Welcome back ...." at reception. These little things, attention to detail, turn great to fabulous.

Lovely boutique room with a very nice finishing. Nice comfortable bed and the room was very spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Great location in a leafy suburb close to the town Centre. Beautiful restaurant and bar it and it almost felt like we were abroad as the hotel is mostly glass and very airy. What sets this hotel apart from the others is the excellent customer care of the staff unlike other hotels whose rules are for the connivence of the staff. Not this hotel they bend over backwards to ensure that you have a great stay, nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
