Lovely old building, room really nicely decorated

Heating not on, on a cool October morning - would have appreciated a small oil fired radiator (no doubt the single glazed building is exceptionally expensive to heat throughout)

Great Northumbrian cooked breakfast, and lots of cereals, fruit to choose from

Our room was above the kitchen and there was a strong smell of fat.

I was checked into a single room which was very cold, no heating in the shower room, water leaking from the roof above and dripping onylto the carpet. I complained and the man in charge immediately changed my room which was an infinitely better room ( double). It was warm. Furnishings were good but the single bed mattress and bed base were much used and uneven.

The location was superb, very friendly staff and very dogfriendly!

The shower was a bit hot and couldn't be adjusted

Comfortable room (Room 11) and good for our dogs too. En-suite shower excellent Bar well stocked and menu varied Dogs made to feel very welcome, especially in bar and at breakfast.

No lift had to walk up 2 flights of stairs when mentioned at check in was told think of me walking up with the laundry??????? Not very empathetic When in breakfast needed toilet so had to either go back to room or through restaurant and then down stairs Not very disabled friendly Lights didn't come on when in toilet! Couldn't find switch Saturday breakfast staff attitude left lot to be desired I mentioned No juice very discreetly while staff clearing table - response was Am doing it!!!! She was clearing table not topping up juice! Don't say something that you're not doing! Just say thank you for letting me know I will see to it as soon as possible Incessant trying to sing very off putting too Feel as though all staff I came across need some interpersonal skills training
