Everything about the place.staff aim were amazing! Im disabled and one lad in particular did everything he could to make sure i felt ok. When our radiotor stopped working and we immediatatly got upgrade to a huge room with everything. We couldnt have been more comfortable.

Nothing,because the second we had a problem the staff more than rectified it..they upgraded our stay!

badly maintained. painting being done while we were there. breakfast awful.

The room was clean, bathroom well stocked with shower gel, shampoo and towels. iron and ironing board was a bonus.

At breakfast, we asked at the restaurant for orange juice with our pre-booked breakfast, and were told we had to purchase, £3.50 each x 4 - not good. Apart from that breakfast was standard full English oh no fried egg although advertised on the menu and the boards outside, when asked we were told "sorry there is a problem" and only scrambled were available - didn't find out the problem but all in all food was okay.

The pub atmosphere

Bedroom was good size, clean with comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Bar restaurant on site. Good breakfast if required.

Limited choice in restaurant. Unless you're veggie, the only option other than carvery is 1 fish option. Carvery is average, neither best or worst, but no food available after 8pm. Competitors usually serve until at least 10pm & offer many more options. Check in is until 10pm, so if you will arrive later you will have to go out to eat.

room 107 needs to be looked at a really bad draught from the window the bed is right under the window all the paint peeling off badly around the window . checked in on the monday i went for a carvery about 4.40pm i waited about 5-10 mins to be seated and about the same time to pay there was only 2 staff working in the bar . one member of staff was behind the bar serving ,checking people in , and showing people to the tables the other member of staff was serving drinks , seeing to customers , taking payments etc , cleaning tables . i did not complain about the wait these 2 lads were very busy . and kept apologising .

Nice cosy bedroom , excellent location for visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Good Toby Carvery as part of the lodge.

The only good thing about my stay was that the bedding and towels were clean. The hotel is badly in need of updating repainting and new carpets fitted, as the current ones are dirty badly stained and in need if cleaning. I only used the dining room for breakfast the food was not of the standard I expected, bacon so over cooked you could not cut it, fried eggs so greasy and overcooked, the only decent food were the sausages. On using the toast machine (for three breakfasts) the same problem occurred every time namely the toast fell out on the counter, and so I felt I was unable to eat it . On the second morning of my stay I drew a member of staff’s attention to the dirt and debris adjacent to the counter where the coffee and tea were available, and I was horrified to see that there was still dirt and debris on the floor. This standard of hygiene is not acceptable and I would hope that the management will improve there quality control so that the hotel guests will get the standards they expect. I will certainly not be staying there again( my reason being it was close to friends) and I certainly could not recommend it to anyone. I do hope that some notice will be made of this constructive criticism and that standards of cleanliness and quality of the breakfasts will improve.

As already stated my room was dirty, walls badly marked and in need of repainting, my shower floor was marked, the carpet needed either replacing or cleaning and the windows behind the bed head, needed one of the cleaning staff to climb up on the bedside cabinet to open it, and I had to have the fan on the whole time of occupancy. In all very disappointed with my stay and certainly I didn’t expect to pay the price I did for the standard of accommodation offered.

The staff were amazing.

This is just constructive feedback, but, there was paint peeling off the walls above the bed, ot is easy to top that up, also, there was a funny smell in the bathroom. The bed was also very hard for my liking.
