I was in Palmerston North for about 5 weeks, from late May until late June. I was traveling for work at Massey University, where I served as a temporary faculty for the summer, and I could not have had better accommodations. The Esplanade motel exceeded my expectations in every possible manner. The owners are absolutely lovely people, and made me feel at home for the entirety of my stay. I don't particularly enjoy traveling for as long as I did (5-6 weeks), but I could not have been made more comfortable during my time in PN. I was provided with fantastic venison burgers & ceviche by the owners, and they were extremely flexible with charging during my time, especially considering I was at their property for over a month. I will be back in PN later this year, and I already know 100% where I'll be staying- I wouldn't consider staying at any other property after my experience, which was again, absolutely top notch. I can't wait to get back and see the owners again- I highly recommend anyone traveling to PN, especially those who will be working at Massey (barely a mile to the campus), to stay at the Esplanade.

The only downside to my stay was that I was 16 hours ahead of the US, so the NBA finals were on at inopportune times. I had no bad experiences directly related with my stay at the Esplanade- the staff were lovely, the room was clean and I was provided with fresh linens multiple times a week. I can't complain about any part of my stay at the Esplanade, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations in Palmerston North.

Beds very comfy. Good facilities with toaster and kitchenette. Spa bath fabulous. Great sized room(s) and appreciated the table and couch. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Loved the Esplanade Park directly over the road.

I didn't have the breakfast, I didn't know about it. The hosts are amazing. Tino pai te manaakitanga! The spa pool jets did not work.

Fantastic place for the price I paid. It was quiet and comfy there. The view wasn't great but not hard to get out and explore. The spa bath was pristine and the room was large
